I had a great experience with Nest, Rachel was very helpful all the way through the process

We recently sold our property through Nest in Essex and had a fantastic experience working with Rachel. From our first meeting through to completion, she was professional, proactive and always kept us updated. Communication was excellent throughout, and Rachel went above and beyond to ensure everything progressed as smoothly as possible. Her knowledge, support and friendly approach made what can be a stressful process much easier. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rachel and the team at Nest in Essex to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

Tried to rent a property and there callback policy is 24 hours. After constant calling to try and view a property. I was told it was gone. I asked why I wasn’t advised that they had too many viewings only to be told well we didn’t know what was happening

From start to finish, we found the service disorganised and below professional standards. Here’s a summary of what we experienced:

📸 Poor Marketing from the Start

The photos initially used to market our home were of poor quality — dark and unflattering — and we had to ask for them to be redone. This caused unnecessary delays and didn’t reflect the standard we expected from a professional agency.

⏳ Lack of Urgency and Organisation

It took much longer than expected to get our property properly listed. Communication felt inconsistent and slow throughout the process, and we frequently had to chase for updates.

☎️ Overstepping Professional Boundaries

At one point, we felt the agent became overly involved in aspects of the sale that should have been handled between solicitors. This created confusion and additional stress. When we raised our concerns, our request for clearer boundaries was not properly acknowledged.

😡 Unprofessional Communication

There were several tense conversations during the process that we felt were handled in an unprofessional manner. Even our solicitor commented on the tone of one exchange and stated she would prefer not to work with the agency again.

🏠 Pressured to Proceed Against Advice

We felt under pressure to move forward with the sale before certain key steps — including mortgage confirmation — were finalised. This went against the advice of our solicitor and added unnecessary risk to an already stressful transaction.

💬 Patronising and Dismissive Behaviour

At various points, comments made by staff came across as condescending and dismissive of our concerns. We felt our situation was not being taken seriously, and this further eroded our confidence in the service.

💸 Contract and Invoice Confusion

There were discrepancies between what we were initially told about fees and what appeared in the paperwork. We only received a copy of the contract after completion, which was disappointing and not what we expected from a professional agency.

⚠️ Complaint Escalated

Our experience was so poor that we submitted a complaint to The Property Ombudsman, who has accepted the case for review. The matter also went to small claims, where the agency agreed to cover costs and provide a 10% reduction in fees.

💬 Final Thoughts

Based on our experience, we would not recommend NEST Estate Agents. There are many other agencies that communicate clearly, act professionally, and genuinely prioritise their clients’ best interests.

Bought a property through Nest and Rachel friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout. She answered all my enquiries and chased the solicitors on both sides to speed up the process when needed.

I had the pleasure of using Nest in Essex to sell a second property and they were extremely helpful, friendly and professional at every step. I was able to sell my property very quickly and for over the asking price, so well done to Rachel and the team!
I was also very impressed with the recommended solicitors (Juno) who were very efficient and communicated well. Having the app/dashboard with regular updates was very helpful.

We went to view a house that was gorgeous at 500,000-550,000 day before we were due to view this after waiting a week the price changed to 550,000 -600,000 we were told that because of so many calls they put the price up to stop the calls coming in. To find the property sold for 600k. We placed a bid and I was told we have had bids from 550-565.000 and one of 592,000. They seem to use it as auction room.
