I forgot several personal belongings in an SAS plane. 1 hour after arrival in Nice, I visited the service center at the airport, Terminal 2. I was told to registrer the items on Troov.com. Upon my return from Nice I visited the service center again. I was told it could take 10 days (!!!) before the lost items were rendered to the airportâs lost and found service. Whatâs the point registering?? Whoâs stealing? And why is this considered acceptable?? 10 days later I still havenât heard a thing on Troov. And Iâm no longer in Nice.

I recently traveled through Nice CÃŽte dâAzur Airport, specifically Terminal 2 (international departures, near Gate B and the passport control checkpoint), and had one of the most frustrating airport experiences Iâve encountered.
The passport control process was severely understaffed, with only two agents managing a line of well over 200 passengers. The pace was extremely slow, and there appeared to be little urgency or coordination despite many travelers, including families, trying to make their flights.
At one point, a large group of schoolchildren was allowed to bypass the line ahead of everyone else who had been waiting for a significant amount of time, which added to the frustration and sense of unfairness.
I was traveling with my wife and three young children (all under the age of seven, including an infant), which made the situation even more challenging. One particular officerâan older woman with glassesâwas especially difficult to interact with. Communication was strained due to limited English proficiency, and her demeanor was rude and condescending. At one point, her comments felt inappropriate and discriminatory.
Despite arriving at the airport more than three hours before departure, we only just made our flight. The overall experience reflected a lack of professionalism, poor customer service, and inadequate operational efficiency at a critical checkpoint.
Based on this experience, I would strongly caution travelersâespecially familiesâto allow significant extra time when departing from this airport, and I hope improvements are made to staffing, communication, and overall passenger handling.

Ãber 2 Stunden Warteschlange bei der Passkontrolle, Menschen mussten fÃŒr ihre FlÃŒge ausgerufen werden. Es waren nur zwei Schalter geöffnet, purer Stress und Chaos. Das war das Schlimmste, was ich je gesehen habe. Man sollte zwei Stunden vorher am Flughafen sein, aber wenn du mit diesem Flughafen zu tun hast, plane vier Stunden, Katastrophal.

Zone B departure area in T2 was chaos
Zone B departure area in T2 was chaos. No biometric gates operating (apparently as no police officer available), passengers of 5 flights waiting to pass through customs were held, without movement in the departure area for 1 hr 15 mins. Arriving early was pointless as I was turned away from going through customs (too early I was told, it was approx 30 mins too early). No response from any of the airport staff when people were seeking information, our gates had closed, our departure times had passed, we were told repeatedly to stay where we were. People were opening up the security flow gates and everyone starting to push to the front of the departure area. Small children were being caught up in the throng. This mess is entirely down to the apathy of the airport staff. They were ignorant and only appeared when the situation became dangerous. By this time, 5 flight departure times had passed. The police officers in the customs booths were not taking passengers through, they sat stony faced and practically motionless. Giving this experience 1 star is being generous. You plan to increase passenger numbers then you need to do better

Staff at BA checkin are amazingly rude. Almost as many âsupervisorsâ as counter staff but they donât seem to help but rather slow things down.

Its a disaster with the new biometric passport controls. To add to the chaos they have just 2 passport agents for both European citizens and foreign nationals. Surely as they transitioned to a new system they could have employed extra staff. Lets take our tourism elsewhere as we are clearly not wanted.

Small airport that gets overburdened whenever more than three people show up at the same time. Early in the morning, all the cafés and similar places are closed, so you canât even buy anything to eat. And do you really have to provide an out of tune piano for free use at 6:00 a.m. to every wannabe influencer that shows up (there are quite a few of them in Nice and Monaco!)???

So the passport control was only manned by two people who seemed to take a sadistic pleasure in further delaying people that had already been queuing for over an hour. Why only two non plussed employees at an extremely busy time with many Easy Jet flights departing for the UK Edinburgh and other destinations? We do bring tons of money to this beautiful city and this is the way the Airport and its employees treat people and air crew alike? Without as much of a smile or a sorry but a terribly arrogant attitude.
Our flight was delayed by one hour not for Easy Jet fault but the people in passport control that do not turn up to work! Poor passengers stressed out thinking theyâd miss their flightâŠwe had to wait for 88 people to get through passport control and we departed well after 11:00 am. The whole thing was an absolute farce!
If you use this airport you need to be there two hours in advance as a minimumâŠ.
Is this the worst airport in the whole of Europe?! Iâd say yes!
Recently been in Thailand and the people in Nice airport should take a leaf out of the customer service that we get in Bangkok!

I would like to submit a forma complaint
I would like to submit a formal complaint regarding the extremely poor management of passport control at Nice CÃŽte dâAzur Airport T1 and the unacceptable treatment I experienced there.
On March 12th at approximately 3pm, there was only one passport control desk open while there was a huge queue of around one hundred passengers. The situation was completely disorganised and badly managed, creating significant stress for passengers and putting many of us at real risk of missing our flights.
There was also a female staff member who appeared to be managing the queue. Instead of handling the situation in a professional and supportive manner (I mentioned to her I have a flight now and Iâll be late to go through queue faster she wanted to send me to the end of the queue), she was running around creating confusion and complaining about passengers to the police desk, particularly about me. She was also shouting at me in front of many other passengers.
As a result, the policeman at the passport control window refused to allow me to proceed through passport control, even though my flight was already boarding and I was at serious risk of missing it. The policeman was also raising his voice and speaking to me in a very rude and disrespectful way in front of everyone in the queue.
This behaviour felt extremely rude, disrespectful and humiliating. Instead of assisting passengers in a difficult situation caused by the very long queue, I felt I was treated unfairly and singled out without justification. I was almost too late for my flight and only managed to board at the very last moment.
It is unacceptable for an international airport to operate passport control with such limited capacity and allow behaviour that makes the situation even worse for passengers.
I kindly ask you to review this incident and explain:
- why only one passport control desk was open despite the extremely large queue,
- who the female staff member managing the queue was,
- why she was complaining about passengers to the police instead of assisting them,
- why I was prevented from proceeding through passport control while my flight was boarding,
- what measures will be taken to prevent this type of behaviour and mismanagement from happening again.
Worst airport staff
Ground staff at gate for departing passenger, they are rude and shouting passenger to board. As a family with young kids we stay in with the same staff for passport and boarding pass check, the other staff keep shouting to call the next passenger. My partner didnât approach because we stay as a family. Staff said my partner refuse boarding and not allow to board. They tried to keep all our passports and close the gate door. The worst airport staff ever met!
