Really wasnt worth the money. We expected a guide that would interact with children, but all they could remember were the guide telling us the difference of the stone color. They couldnt be more bored... もっず芋る

Great tour and very informative

The guide (Flavia I believe her name was) had us meet at a great location away from the busy area. She was on time and well organised and spoke very good English.
She made the tour very interesting with her great knowledge, she told the information like it was as a joy to tell rather than a job that she was doing, very passionate. There are plenty of water stops and toilets on route (important info for some 😂).

Good tour, Nataline was a great guide.

Natalina was a great tour guide when we did the Colosseum and Forum. It does take a full 3 to 4 hours so be prepared for that. The area is much larger than we realized so it is a lot of walking which was fine for us - but be prepared if you are not. The history is quite impressive.

Eduardo was an incredible captain

Eduardo was an incredible captain, the history he told us about the area was so interesting and beautiful. He was very kind, fun and knowledgeable. He took us swimming in a great area with caves, and we were able to swim through the tunnel system in them, which was amazing.

We highly recommend this very informative vatican tour. Our guide, Amy, was delightful & very knowledgeable. She kept us going at a good pace, not too fast or slow. Had many interesting often funny tidbits to share regarding what we were viewing. She really enhanced our experience bringing history alive for us.

Our Vatican tour was good

Our Vatican tour was good! Surprised he had to quit the tour before entering the Sistine Chapel, although he provided very good details about the Chapel beforehand.

Regarding your note about the guide concluding the tour before entering the Sistine Chapel: this is indeed standard practice. The Sistine Chapel is a sacred space where silence is strictly required, and all guides are instructed by the Vatican authorities to end their commentary beforehand.

To ensure visitors still receive a full understanding of what they will see, our guides always provide a detailed explanation using the visual boards located along the museum route before entering the Chapel. This way, visitors can fully appreciate the significance of the artworks in silence, as intended.

The guide was difficult to understand

The guide was difficult to understand. Granted, her English was much better than my Italian, but for the amount we paid and the size of the group, it should have been better. Also, Do Not have another tour booked for after this tour. Our tour started at 10:30, we did not get into the colosseum until 12:45. We had another tour booked at 2:00 so really only got to spend about 10 minutes in the arena part of the colosseum before we had to leave. Spent 20 minutes milling about on top of Palestine hill prior to going over toward the colosseum. We had asked if there was going to be enough time, and were told it should be okay....it wasn't.

We’re sorry if the guide was difficult to understand at times. While accents and language proficiency can naturally vary, please rest assured that she is a licensed professional with strong experience guiding international groups.

Regarding the structure and timing of the tour, it was booked as a 3-hour experience and was carefully planned to include all the main highlights of the Colosseum Archaeological Park, including the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. The itinerary was designed to ensure that guests could enjoy a complete and enriching visit.

As for the time spent in the arena of the Colosseum, we understand the frustration, but this is not something under our control. The Archaeological Park’s management strictly regulates access to the arena floor and imposes a limited time of 15 minutes per group in order to manage the high volume of daily visitors and ensure smooth entry and exit flows. This rule applies to all tour operators and visitors without exception.

We always strive to provide accurate timing advice based on standard conditions, but unforeseen delays, especially at major landmarks, can occasionally occur. We recommend allowing extra flexibility in your schedule whenever possible to fully enjoy each site.

Expensive and very rushed

We had issues with our guide turning up late! The headsets were not very functional, they got replaced at the colosseum, but it didn’t rectify the issue. If you were more than 6 feet away from the tour guide you couldn’t hear her. The tour also felt very rushed. We walked past so much that wasn’t even discussed and it felt like we would have learnt more on our own! The tour of the forum was good, but again rushed. For the money, I’m not sure I’d book something like this again!

Very unorganized

Very unorganized. Meeting place was difficult to find. No other guide we asked had ever heard of the restaurant we were supposed to meet at. When we got there was no flag or sign identifying the tour. The guide was seemed very knowledgeable and was friendly, but her accent was so heavy it was difficult to understand her. Would look elsewhere. These tours are too expensive to not get what you paid for.
