​I spotted a car I’d been looking for online, advertised by Nuneaton Car Sales. After sending an email inquiry, I received a call back the same day. I traveled all the way up from Devon to view the vehicle.
​During my inspection, I noticed on the check list that the brake pads on one axle were below recommendation. They initially offered a £50 discount, which I wasn't happy with given the average repair cost is easily £100+. To their credit, they did end up replacing the pads before I collected the car on June 11th. However, upon collection, I noticed the wheels appeared significantly more corroded than when I had first viewed it.
​The car came with a 3-month warranty. After driving roughly 200 miles, a dashboard warning popped up indicating a fault with the electric traction system. I contacted Nuneaton Car Sales, and they instructed me to get a quote for them to approve. I reached out to several local garages, but the only one able to book it in was Citroën Taunton. Because I urgently needed the vehicle for work, I instructed them to proceed.
​Citroën Taunton diagnosed further issues and had to replace both the main traction battery and the auxiliary battery to rectify the faults. I sent Nuneaton Car Sales the invoice for the urgent completed work alongside a quote for the remaining repairs required to make the car fully roadworthy. Nuneaton Car Sales outright refused to pay for the completed repairs, claiming they hadn't approved them first. Even when I suggested a reasonable contribution towards the costs, they refused. It felt like they were simply looking for any excuse to avoid paying a single penny.
​In my experience, their 3-month warranty (and likely the 12-month option they sell) is useless unless you live locally in Nuneaton. After sales service is everything; the sales team spoke a great game when taking my money, but that support completely evaporated the moment I drove off the lot. It has now cost me over £1,000 to get a 4-year-old car running safely. I strongly recommend looking for a dealer that offers genuine customer care and actually stands behind the vehicles they sell.

After sales service absolutely appalling.
We purchased a car and it was in/out of the garage with issues after 1 month. Total of 33 days on x3 separate occasions.
The service team did not keep us up to date with what was going on. I did my own diagnosis on the car and seem to know more than their trained mechanics.
We ended up rejecting the car for a refund..... even this was difficult.
The communication from the service department was disgusting.

⭐️ 1 STAR – Extremely disappointing experience with Startline Motor Finance
I purchased a Peugeot 2008 from Nuneaton Car Sales in December 2025 through Startline Motor Finance. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have experienced repeated problems relating to fault code P0035.

The vehicle has been returned to the dealership on at least four separate occasions in an attempt to resolve the issue. I have also obtained independent diagnostic evidence from a VAT-registered garage and three separate RAC diagnostic reports, all of which I have retained as evidence of the problems I have experienced.

This has gone far beyond the inconvenience of having a faulty car. I rely on my vehicle for work and live in a rural area with no accessible public transport. I am the only driver in my household, meaning that whenever the car has been unavailable, I have had very limited alternatives. On several occasions I have had to hire another vehicle at my own expense simply to get to work and attend essential appointments.

What makes this situation particularly difficult is that I am currently 30 weeks pregnant with a high-risk pregnancy, while also caring for my young child. The repeated breakdowns, repairs, transport arrangements and uncertainty have caused a huge amount of additional stress at a time when I should be focusing on my health and my family.

I have now formally rejected the vehicle. My rejection was initially accepted for consideration, but approximately five days later I was informed that it had been declined. I am therefore left in the position of still making finance payments for a vehicle that I have formally rejected and no longer feel able to rely on.

We are now facing the cost of the existing Peugeot finance alongside another vehicle, as well as insurance and tax. The combined cost relating to the Peugeot is approximately £500 per month, before taking into account replacement vehicle hire and other expenses.

This is particularly concerning because I am due to start maternity leave. Instead of being able to financially prepare for the arrival of our baby, we are now facing additional borrowing and ongoing costs because of a vehicle that I no longer consider reliable or suitable for our circumstances.

I have made repeated attempts to give the dealership the opportunity to resolve the problem, including returning the vehicle multiple times and obtaining independent diagnostic evidence. Despite this, I am still left dealing with the same underlying issue and the financial consequences that have followed.

I appreciate that vehicle disputes can be complicated, but from my perspective the way this situation has unfolded has been extremely stressful and financially damaging. I feel that the impact on me and my family has not been properly appreciated.

I would not recommend Nuneaton Car sales based on my experience. I simply wanted a reliable vehicle for my family, work and the arrival of my baby. Instead, I have been left with ongoing uncertainty, additional costs and significant financial pressure at one of the most difficult times to be dealing with a situation as such.

The lack of customer aftercare is absolutely horrific. Sales team are phenomenal at the point of sale in customer service.

This matter has now been taken further.

On the surface seemed nice and genuine enough but actually sold me a car already with an issue and they knew about it. I don't really see how you can't know about it as the issue arose only a week after purchasing the car. Took our hard earned money and sold us a lemon!!! Please don't give them your money.

Really happy with my experience buying a car. The whole process was really easy and stress free.

Ivan was friendly and helpful, and I really liked how transparent they were about everything. They were completely open about the car’s condition. I was sent a video of the car beforehand, where they clearly showed a few scuffs on the wheels which was really helpful and gave me confidence before making the trip. After putting a deposit down for the car they repainted the wheels for me upon request which I really appreciated.

The car was very fairly priced and it’s nice to buy from a garage where you get exactly what you pay for and they aren’t trying to hide anything from you or over charge.

Everyone was lovely to deal with and I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for a car. It was overall a really pleasant experience and I didn’t feel pressured to buy nor was I incentivised to make a review. I am very pleased with the car!
