Costume arrived on time. Was very damp and smelt fusty!
Dried it out ,aired it and gave it a freebreeze before using it for a toddlers party. Returned it on the date we agreed, communication throughout was very poor!
I have now been waiting nearly 5 weeks since returning the costume and still had no deposit of 50.00 returned to myself.
I have sent many texts and emails and had no correspondence back from them.
I will give them 1 more week , then look into taking this further.. I wish I had read these reviews before using this so called company.
My advice..STAY WELL CLEAR!

Paid £115 for the hire of a mascot costume on 13th July due for delivery on 11th September by DPD. On the day it never arrived so I called Dan Morgan (owner) who said he couldn’t answer the phone as he was on a job but he would “check”. Multiple phone calls and emails not responded to, the odd reply to a text acting like he doesn’t know what I’m talking about. Now being refunded by my bank and reported them to trading standards.

If you search him and his partner Kirsty on google you’ll see animal neglect charges from October 2024. If you search them on Facebook you’ll see them doing this to multiple other people under the company name “Love My Events”

**Do not rely on this company for an important event**

I honestly cannot believe how badly this booking was handled.

I booked a Gruffalo costume on 16 August, with delivery promised for 11 September, for an event I was hosting at The Reading Room on 12 September.

Because of a family bereavement, I needed to change the delivery address. I contacted Party Mascot Hire using the number provided on their website and initially received a text response. After that? **Nothing.**

I sent multiple texts and made numerous phone calls, all of which were ignored. I received no tracking information, no update and no explanation. The costume simply didn't arrive.

The most frustrating part is that nobody even had the courtesy to tell me there was a problem. I was left to discover it for myself and had to desperately arrange a last-minute alternative for an event, while simultaneously dealing with the death of a family member.

I requested a refund and finally received a response on 13 September — a single word: **"yes."** That's it.

After the experience I've had so far, I have absolutely no confidence that the refund will actually be processed without me having to chase it yet again.

Things can go wrong. Deliveries can be delayed. I completely understand that. **What is unacceptable is taking people's money, failing to provide the service they have paid for, and then completely ignoring their attempts to contact you.**

I would strongly advise anyone considering using this company for an important event to think very carefully. The lack of communication and customer service has been absolutely appalling.

Awful company! Stay clear! Costume wasn’t sent out and they blamed DPD, asked for a full refund and promised it would be 5-7 days (£250) and still waiting a month later. Stay away!!!

1 star is generous. The item came absolutely filthy, stank of sweat and was covered in stains. 2 weeks later and I’m still chasing the deposit.

What a shame, as their target audience is young families, yet he’s more than happy to take money off them and then not give it back. Would be alright if the item was actually clean.

His Google reviews turned off says a lot about his business.

Would vote 0 if I could. Mascot never arrived and have been trying to get a refund for 4 months. Not even getting the refundable deposit back. Never ever hire from this company.

They won't give you deposit back.
They lie and ignore you.

Sent back next day in same condition, i have seen other reviews saying the same. Now i need to contact my bank. You will never see your deposit again...

3 costumes I hired for one the one costume had missing parts they didn’t make me aware of the 2nd costume smelt so badly of sweat it was unreal! That wasn’t worst part they have sent a confirmation email to confirm the deposit has gone to my account however been onto my bank they said there is no sign of the money at all (never had issues like this before with any company) after reading some views on here I highly doubt I’ll be receiving my deposit back I honestly feel so let down by this company! Deposit shouldn’t be for me to chase up I paid an awful lot of money I’m so unhappy I do not recommend this company at all! They don’t return the deposits which is a lot in our case £150 in deposits I will never see again now

Absolutely fantastic. Realistic looking costume and great price. Simple process from placing order to returning and receiving deposit back

Deposit never returned. Fraud company. Do not use. Company lies and then just ignores. No answer to emails or phone and so will not see £50 deposit again and having to claim through bank. Appalling.

Our outfit never turned up, the company said they sent it to DPD who said they never received it! They said they would refund me, 4 weeks later and still no refund!! I have now gone through my bank and the fraud team who have refunded me! If you don’t want a disappointed child on their birthday I would avoid this company! They obviously like upsetting children and ripping people off!

Would like to say a massive thank you! Hired Gabby doll house mascot costume for my daughter's fifth birthday and party.
Absolutely made the party for the kid's and my daughter, customer service was excellent and delivered just before needed, return was easy to do, after a little guidance from the hire company itselt.
Can't thank them enough, isn't the easiest to get hold of a Gabby doll house mascot costume.
Would highly recommended if you need one and will definitely use for future birthday parties.

After not being able to find a gruffalo costume that even remotely resembled the gruffalo I came across this company , the costume made my granddaughters day at her birthday party

Costume received damaged and not clean (hairs and stained inside),
when raised issue with company they were dismissive and just advised all costumes were steam cleaned.
Costume returned and received by "company" on 30/12/25 and still not received our £50 deposit back

100% recommend. Communication was great! I got the mascot early which was a bonus! Everything went smoothly! Great costume which looked like Bluey, comfortable to wear and such great quality. I’d recommend to anyone and I’d definitely be hiring again soon!
