Terrible customer service. Extremely long delivery time. Refund policy unfair. They keep more than half the wig cost. What little refund you get if you do takes over 2 months to receive. Still waiting... もっず芋る

Order and Pay Today for Mid To Late August Delivery. No. High Risk Issue

We've bought from Paula Young Wigs for years. Great variety, fair pricing and shipping options. Just received their newest catalog. So excited. Picked out three (3) wigs I'd like to buy so I went online to see the "3D" versions only to see "Out of Stock" in red! What?!? They sent us a new catalog without indicating that "some items may not be available."
So, I called Sales. Long story short is they wanted me to place my order and pay--for three wigs that are OOS?!?
I asked when the new stock is expected and Sales rep said, "Around the middle of August. After the stock is received it will take another 10 to 11 days before we ship ("Free Shipping!) the items.
Thanks, but no thanks. PY imports many products from India and China so I can understand longer than usual wait times. Tariffs don't help vendors either!
But, PY wants to use my money, interest free, from April to "maybe" mid August and then expect shipment by the end of August 2026?
This is alarming. It is highly unusual for company to send a catalog with "Free Shipping" (terms apply, natch) then learn that desired item(s)) are OOS and, if they do get in the ETA for delivery is the bottom half of August. Unacceptable.
So, I conclude that PY may be having cashflow issues. Understandable but, if anyone purchases an OOS in April on the premise they'll receive what they've paid for that's a bit of a stretch.
Here's why, if one pays now when August arrives it is possible PY's status could be "Closed Permanently," or "Operations Suspended." That leaves the paying customer high and dry. No recourse--and the company is GWTW (Gone With The Wind).
Not saying they will be, but face it. Our economy is up and down from sunup to sundown lately. Consumers should not be lured via a new catalog with "Free Shipping" in bold dark lettering only to find out much of the "new" designs are OOS.
Summary: I am suspicious due to upfront demand for money and prospects for actually receiving the order. If PY is experiencing operational (cashflow) problems it might help to be up front with returning customers like myself. They've shaken my trust, so it's a "NO!" for me. (sad face) :(

Wigs are junk, and they won't refund. Hair is like fish line. Cheap, no curl, not what was ordered

Bought a wig. It was junk. Hair was like fishing line, no curl and not what I ordered. Returned. Ordered another. Same issue. Then I get my first wig returned saying not in pristine condition, and can't be worn. I never wore it. It wouldn't even go on. The wig they returned isn't even the one I sent back. Such a scam. This is not the same Paula Young since it was sold. It's been bought by a scam company. My second wig came with a drinking straw tangled in it, the tag was not attached, wig was falling out of the box, was not wrapped up in the net and the tissue paper. I'll let my credit card company look into this scam. I'm a hairdresser, don't buy these

I am never ordering another thing from Paula Young not only are her and Jaclyn Smiths wigs of poor quality they look terrible on you they have snotty sales people who tru to push that load of crap on you after you order trying to get a return label is next to impossible and it's 45.oo to ship it back without the label witch only stays visible for 5 minutes then you can do it over and over again. Take it from me. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T DUE BUSINESS WIRH THEM!

Horrible REFUND Paula Young

Horrible REFUND Paula Young, if you want a refund do not expect it for 5 or 6 weeks or longer. I purchased a topper on 2/8/2026 and they received my returned topper on 2/18/2026. I called for refund status on 3/4/2026. They did not have a status until I provided the return shipping tracking number then they said the return had not been processed, they would process it now, and the refund would be in 5 to 7 days. On 3/13/2026 I still do not have my return money, they said another 3 to 5 days. I will never do business with them again. HORRIBLE customer service.

Several years ago I got a wig which has been great, but was too small. So I ordered two wigs in size large. The first on 1/19. When the first arrived I saw that it was a very different color and style then I ordered, so I canceled the second wig. I even got an email from PY that said the wig was cancelled. Then they sent me the wig anyway. It was just like the first wig. I wrote to the head of the company about this problem with no response. I dropped off 1 wig at UPS on 1/26/26 and the other on 1/29/26. I heard nothing from the company so I called today, 2/4/26, to get refunds on both wigs. They told me that it would take 10 days to determine that the wigs were not damaged before sending a refund. 10 days! On top of this they have a surcharge of $5.99 in case something happens in transit. I know of no other company that has such a surcharge. I hope that I get the refunds I am due.

I have worn paula young wigs for 20 years Adeline is my very favorite color 44 large so easy to style just shake it and comes in the Adeline style use soft grip and on very windy days stays perfect and even riding rides at theme parks a ok customer service never a problem usually here in 7 days sorry I can't be negative on paula young wigs

Useless hairpiece with no clips

Ordered 2 things. A topper & a messy bun. The bun was ok..nothing great;but the topper has NO clips. I emailed them (with pics) & got mails back saying they would get back to within 12-24 hours. They never did. I’m stuck with a hairpiece that just sits on my head & if I move it falls off. I’m stuck with a useless product!

I paid for over night shipping

I paid for over night shipping, the item was in stock, then to my surprise it was sold out, they refuse to refund the money for over night shipping and no product but a cap coming and thats how they rectified the situation. Do not order from this sight.

I ordered a wig from this website and I called directly to customer service on November 12, 2025. I made it very clear to customer service. I needed it on Friday, November 14 since I was going on a cruise. I paid extra shipping almost $15 plus never received it call today and the lady I talked to of course is from the Philippines was totally clueless. Said that my wig will not be here till the 18th or 19 November so I asked her why did I pay for expedite shipping? This company are liars. They’re very unorganized and using people out of the country. Makes sense of why you have bad poor customer service being a professor of economics and finance. It’s a shame that how the United States utilizes out of country employees and this is the kind of crappy service that we get. I will never order from you guys again you just ruined my cruise not only that I’m going through chemo so now I’m gonna have to scramble around and pay about $400 for a wig today so I can take with me thank you Paula Young for a shitty service.

Bad privacy policies

Bought a couple wigs for my mom since she wasn’t comfortable using her card online. Despite FOUR requests, I keep getting catalogs in the mail. They obviously don’t honor federal laws requiring them to honor requests to not use your info.

Their customer service is ridiculous

Their customer service is ridiculous. They put someone on the Customer Service line who barely speaks English, who is impossible to understand. Then the wrong order is received and I’m responsible for his stupidity. They also have deceptive ways of getting you to shell out money for things you never ask for. And their wigs are only barely passable. So that’s why I gave it one star

In May of 2025 I spent over $500 on 9 weeks. Prior to ordering I was told I could send back any or all for a credit back on my credit card. When 8 wigs did not work out the company said there was NO returns allowed, no credit no exchange. I fought this and won, and I was told to send them back as they would give me a credit me back on my credit card. I spent over $50 on the shipping back and waited. Now they are reopened until a new company and will not give me the credit back on these 8 wigs, offered a voucher of $60 to buy more (YUK) So I am OUT $550 and have NO wigs, this company has stolen from me so BEWARE!! I will go to the Better Business Bureau or Small Claims court to get justice!!

Furious

I have been buying wigs from Paula Young for years. I had to send a wig back for exchange on July 3, 2025. I never received the replacement, so I began calling customer service day after day, but could never get through. So I got online and tried to check on their website, but found it no longer existed. Then I found this site. I am so furious that they continued to send me sales catalogs and not once did I receive any notice of any sort, to let me know what was going on, no replacement wig, no credit to my bank card, nor any sort of explanation or information, nothing! They shouldn't be able to do this to their customers. A wig is not a luxury for me it is a necessity, because I don't have hair any more because of a drug I was given years ago! I am retired and on a limited income now, so every dollar counts. Is there no recourse for customers now?

I HAVE BEEN BUYING WIGS FROM PAULA YOUNG FOR 3.5 YEARS. I WAS ALWAYS HAPPY WITH THE STYLES AND THE QUALITY. HOWEVER IN MARCH I ORDERED 5 WIGS DURING A PY SALE FOR MYSELF AND AN ELDERLY FRIEND. THEY WERE NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED AND THE QUALITY WAS NOT THE USUAL STANDARD. I RETURNED THEM 9FIRST TIME IN 3.5 YEARS AND TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO GET IN TOUCH AFTERWARDS REGARDING MY REFUND OR CREDIT I SHOULD HAVE WITH THEM. I WAS GOING TO USE IT DURING THEIR LAST BIG SALE, BUT COULDN'T DUE TO SOME UNFORESEEN EXPENSES. I THOUGHT I WOULD BE ABLE TO USE MY CREDIT ON THE NEXT SALE, NOT KNOWING THEY WERE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS!!! THERE WAS NOTHING TO INDICATE ON THE WEBSITE THAT THIS WAS TAKING PLACE. I AM DISGUSTED. NOW, I AM UNABLE TO USE OR GET MY $300 CREDIT BACK. THAT IS NOT SPARE CHANGE FOR THOSE OF US STRUGGLING WITH ILLNESS, HAIR LOSS AND ON A LIMITED INCOME WITH NO WAY TO FIND THE NEW COMPANY THAT BOUGHT THEM. I AM UPSET BY BLATANT CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR. THEY SHOULD HAVE LET ALL OF THEIR CUSTOMERS KNOW THAT THEY WERE BEING SOLD AND ASSIST THEM IN USING THEIR CREDITS. THEY SHOULD HAVE DEALT WITH CUSTOMER REFUND/CREDITS SO THIS INSANITY WOULD NOT BE AFFECTING THEIR LONG TIME CUSTOMERS. THIS IS SHOCKINGLY IRRESPONSIBLE. THEY MUST HAVE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS OWING TO LOYAL CUSTOMERS. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I AND OTHERS CAN GET MY /OUR MONEY BACK OR REPLACEMENT WIGS? HOW CAN THEY DO THIS TO THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS LIKE MYSELF WHO HAVE SPENT 1000'S OF OUR HARD EARNED DOLLARS ON PURCHASES WITH THEIR COMPANY. BELOW IT ASKS. Below it says let PYW know about your review. Obviously they have washed their hand of their loyal customer base and moved on to other things. Disgraceful, immoral and illegal. They get paid up front and now we have no recourse to reclaim out money or products. Just brutal treatment.

I ordered two wigs in early May

I ordered two wigs in early May. Never received them. I contacted them three times, finally they said I’d get them before June 15, still nothing. I’m out over $200 now and will start a fight with my bank. I lived their products and I’m disappointed that the message I get is being sold to new owners. I’ve bought from them for over 20 years. Will I kiss my money good bye? This is plain thief in my opinion. Explains why they had a big sale in may and June. Nothing delivered. I’m really upset now.

I excitedly ordered a wig from Paula Young after my hair not coming back from chemo like I thought. I waited....and waited. No email received with a tracking number. I called, guy named Jit told me the item had shipped, I said I will give another week. No wig. Called again, was told my order had been canceled because the color I ordered online wasn't available. Why did Jit say it shipped. Like a fool, I ordered another wig, different style. Got it, not the color I ordered. Paid full price, so I shipped it back for a refund. USPS delivered it June 14. Now their email, website and phone recording say the are transitioning to new ownership. Where is my $60?
