Very disappointed with Pearson VUE they took my money. I experienced a technical issue during my PTE exam, yet they refused to provide a fair solution or refund. I contacted support multiple times with no real help. I feel like my money was taken unfairly and my concerns were ignored.
The site of the exam was very bad and the computers were old and they have no network connection they had to connect them on the phone network
My experience with Pearson VUE for the GEDâŠ
My experience with Pearson VUE for the GED has been extremely disappointing. The test time is far too short, especially for difficult subjects like math, making it hard for many students to finish. On top of that, customer service is almost non-existent; calls and emails are not answered when students actually need help. What was most frustrating is that after I paid, the policies changed without explanation. I was originally approved to take the test online, but after payment, I was told I had to go to a testing center. This completely ignored my situation; I have children at home and no childcare, which is the main reason I needed the online option. It feels like the focus is on taking your money rather than supporting students. Once they receive payment, they change terms without considering the impact. Overall, this was a very stressful and unfair experience. I would not recommend using Pearson VUE for the GED.
Worst app ever. Insane ragebait
I have tried to take my exam twice. First time, I passed all the checks, but then the proctor said my video streaming wasn't good enough and then kicked me out. Second time, it said I had an app on my mac running called "screenshot". I don't have any apps called screenshot. I removed all recording privileges from all apps, including zoom, then removed all my keyboard shortcuts to take a screenshot, then ran terminal commands to kill any app that could be called screenshot, and then looked in my activity monitor to make sure nothing called screenshot was running. I refreshed OnVUE, and then got the same issue. I restarted the app and took my photos all over again, and then ran into the same issue. Unbelievable application. Now I've got to drive 2 hours to take my exam in person. It'd be one thing if this was like a free app, but it's over 400$ for my exam. This is the best engineered ragebait I've ever encountered. I hate PearsonVUE.
Technically very poor
Imagine my memory usage was at 41% and CPU usage was only around 5â10% before running OnVUE. The moment I launched it, they immediately jumped to around 60% and 89â96% respectively.
Technically very poor. It takes too much computational power to process, causing the computer to lag, slow down, and hang.
This was sh**
This was sh**. During my exam session, I encountered several serious issues.
The proctorâs English proficiency was very limited, which made communication extremely difficult and unclear.
The exam was interrupted multiple times due to technical problems, and no additional time was provided despite these disruptions.
I also struggled to understand the proctorâs instructions because of the language barrier. At the end of the session, the proctor informed me that the exam would be revoked, without providing any explanation or support. Exam has not been revoked!!!
I contacted Pearson VUE regarding these issues, but my concerns were completely ignored, and I did not receive any guidance or direction.

DO NOT USE PEARSON ONVUE / VUE FORâŠ
DO NOT USE PEARSON ONVUE / VUE FOR EXAMS!
Test exam setup process failed using Pearson's systems, multiple times. Spent 30 minutes (after doing pre-checks and ensuring all was in compliance beforehand) trying to finalize setup & approval for exam testing space. The OnVUE system kept rejecting my pictures, giving me nonsense justification as to why. Clearly a robot checking the pictures and failing to identify them properly.
Customer "service" is only available via chat as their FAQs are pointless and there's no usable phone number to contact for quick resolution. Spent 30 minutes trying to explain the situation to the "service" rep, they were hardly helpful and ultimately opened a TICKET for me. Unable to help resolve the issue, unable to help me reschedule or provide any assurances whatsoever that the matter would be resolved. Now potentially out ~$500 trying to take my PMP exam for PMI at home in a prepared testing environment. Unbelievable.
DO NOT USE PEARSON ONVUE / VUE FOR EXAMS!
This place is a joke
This place is a joke. What a horrible company. It is absolutely ridiculous that every plug and cord needs to be removed despite all electronics being turned off. I am going to write Google asking them to use a new service. This place sucks and is over the top with its criteria. They had me remove an electrical warning tag on my covered monitor and now itâs broke. You suck Pearson Vue. Worst company ever, like really. It doesnât get any worse than this company. I give them -100 rating.
NEVER EVER GIVE EXAM FROM HOME- SCAM ALERT
If l could give a zero â rating,l would surely give them.l gave one exam today and I would advised, Never take the online (home) exam, never. They interrupt you in the middle of the session, ask you to show the room, table, desk etc when l have already done it prior to check in of the exam, and because of that l failed. They call you and chat with you saying oh there is a connectivity issue or we can't see you,can you launch the software again. Why???? I did all the system checks. Why you are interrupting me when l am giving an exam. Not sure how the in centre exam experience will be. Looking at the reviews l don't think it will be a good one. Don't know why Microsoft have such low quality standards. They can do better.
0 STARS
0 STARS ! by far the worst customer service I've ever encountered. No representative was educated on their job on the exam scheduling. No one could understand English nor could I understand them and I spoke to 3 different people. Makes no sense. WORST EXPERIENCE
Warning
Warning! Don't take online! They need a competitor or a collective lawsuit in order to change their practices.
I wanted to avoid the testing center due to how uncomfortable it was to sit for my first required exam several months ago. The employees lacked basic professional demeanor and were borderline rude. The environment of having to scan palm veins is incredibly bizarre. The tiny room we were locked in felt wrong, and the energy was punitive, although I've never been in such a situation. Decades ago, when I had a state-level test, the testing center was "normal." I went in and gave the proper ID, followed the protocol, and took the test. There was room to move and breathe. It was not Pearson, and it was before the electronic takeover of the world. BC of the awkward experience several months ago at a Pearson center, I decided to take the test online at home. It did not go well.
I am utterly shocked at the unprofessionalism of this testing program!! The disorganization and difficulty of access is completely absurd and unacceptable. Once logging on to the program, I was forced to power on my phone to complete logging in. I was then given no notice whatsoever about powering down my phone prior to the proctor chastising me for having a phone. I closed my phone prior to opening the test. and removed it from my space. She warned me about that being an issue. Then, once I began the test, she continued to interrupt with more warnings. After two questions, I slid my laptop ~one inch to the right bc I realized in the chaos of navigating this poorly designed system, it was off-center to my head, which could result in aggravation of my spinal injury for prolonged time periods. I did not lift the laptop and very gently scooted it ~ one inch took all of one second. Two or three seconds later, my test was shut down. I barely had enough to read the reason, which stated that it was sensed that I left the testing space. I had heard through my program of such occurrences, which should be illegal, but I had no idea something like what I did would warrant a shutdown of my test. I feel and fully believe this testing center is predatory to make more money and to cause negatively for test takers. I under no circumstances did anything wrong. This inept, unethical, and poorly designed testing outfit committed the wrongdoing here.
Awful customer service
Awful customer service. Had issues in my online exam, when I tried to reschedule it online it said i couldn't due to already having the exam scheduled. Tried contacting customer service and they said I am able to sign up within 24 hours after am exam. It's now almost a week after the initial exam and I am still unable to retake and customer service is of no help.

All the reviews are correct
Webchat - totally useless
Emails - totally useless
Phone - they don't answer and when they do after 60min on hold, totally useless
The booking, and system does not work.
They take your money, can't join the exam/test because the proctor does not join - you will never get your money back.
Save yourself a lot of headaches and hassle and avoid using Pearson VUE
On April 14th
On April 14th, 2026, I purchased an Entrepreneurship Exam from the Certiport website to be taken via remote proctoring on April 17th at 1:45 PM. On April 16th at 1:47 PM, Pearson Vue sent me an email with steps to prepare for the exam which included a computer check using their ONVUE application. I proceeded with the systems check using my work laptop in my on-site work office, but found that there were multiple issues involving company monitoring software and the Crowdstrike Firewall. I put in a ticket with our IT department and they were able to log in to my computer remotely on Friday 4/17 and disable several programs that were preventing the systems check from being successful. They were not able to disable Crowdstrike, however. I called Certiport to let them know and ask for advice, but they told me that I would need to contact Pearson Vue, which I did. After being transferred and put on hold multiple times for almost 2 hours, I asked if I could take the test in my employer's PEARSON VUE TESTING CENTER. They said they did not know and would have someone call me in 48-72 hours. Instead they send me an email saying sorry that I did not show up for my test. When I called to ask about the question they said they would answer, they told me that tests have to be cancelled 24 hours in advance or they will not give a refund. The April 16th email was actually sent less than 24 hours before the test, which means there is no way I could have known and cancelled it in time. I proceeded to spend 3-4 hours on the phone with Certiport and Pearson Vue, both of whom told me it was not their test and that it belonged to the other company. After doing some research, I found that both Certiport and Pearson Vue sell the same test from the same website, and that it was, indeed, Pearson Vue that sold me the test. They steal people's money, refuse to take any accountability, jobs to other countries, and have a monopoly; just look at their reviews.
genuinely a scam?
they cancelled my exam, with no possibility to reschedule, they rescheduled automatically a MONTH from the original date.
tried contacting customer service by email - no answer
chat - i am in another country, they can't help me.
phone - all agents are busy, wait. 3 phone calls later, still no answer. almost 20 minutes wait each time. still unsure of whether ill even be able to take this exam.
The worst exam experience I have had.
The worst exam experience I have had.
Pearson states that its goal is to make exam experiences âas smooth and stress-free as possible.â Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite.
I checked in on time at 09:45 and even began the process early, out of respect for the scheduled start time. By 10:00, the system indicated that the exam would begin within the next 30 minutes. My exam was scheduled for 10:15, yet I was unable to start until 11:20.
For a total of 1 hour and 35 minutes, I was required to remain seated in front of a camera that was actively recording me, unable to use my phone or computer, and with no meaningful communication or updates. During this time, I missed an important customer call, having trusted that the exam provider would adhere to the scheduled time.
Throughout this period, I repeatedly attempted to seek assistance, both verbally and via the chat function. Each attempt resulted in the chat window being closed without a response. Raising my hand only triggered an automated âHow can we help?â message, followed again by the chat being closed without any resolution.
When the exam finally began, I immediately encountered multiple technical issues that required a system reboot and proctor intervention. These issues caused additional delays and directly reduced my effective exam time, significantly increasing stress and negatively impacting my ability to complete the exam under fair conditions.
In addition, I am aware that several colleagues and friends have recently experienced similar issues with Pearson, with some waiting close to an hour before ultimately giving up and not proceeding with the exam at all.
Overall, this experience was poorly handled, unnecessarily stressful, and fell far short of the service standards Pearson claims to uphold.
Horrible company
Horrible company, tried to reschedule my exam. It didn't reschedule so lost $335 in exam fee's. Second time I tried to reschedule as well, happened to get an SSO error so I can't access the website anymore. Tried live chat, didn't help me. Now on a call with Pearson already for 15 minutes.
