Beware - Misselling Salvaged Cars without Disclosing

Peter Vardy sold us a vehicle which was marked as stolen and salvaged without disclosing this information which means when we came to trade-in its worth 40% of its market value. Essentially this is a write-off but they sold it as perfectly fine.

Absolutely shocking service, when purchasing a vehicle from a so called reputable dealer just goes to show you cannot trust any of them and you certainly cannot trust Peter Vardy. Perform your own checks because even Peter Vardy are selling write-offs as perfectly reputable cars which is not the case.

The WORST company in living memory

The WORST company in living memory. FALSIFIED records then non existent service or contact with customer for simple tasks. This company struggles with basics, such as delivering a clean car, if I had returned in that state I'd have been charged fees. STEER CLEAR of this USELESS and DISHONEST company, it will save you hassle and a headache. If I could give this company no star review I would.

Awful experience from start to finish

Awful experience from start to finish. Would never buy from Peter vardy again. Bought our car may 2023 and the road tax was included in the monthly payments for the first year. But since may 2024 we have paid our own road tax however our payments have not reduced and no matter numerous attempts both on phone and in branch to fix this issue we have been fobbed off every time and we are continuing to be frauded as they are taking payments for a service in which they aren’t providing. Would not recommend anyone to buy from Peter vardy nothing but a nightmare.

I was told two and a half years ago my car was PCP and I found out last week it was HP, missed sold me my car and I have phoned twice waiting for a call back and not once has anyone phoned me back, ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!!!!!

Was sold an absolute pup from Peter vardy

A shoddy comapny that ill never use again

Sold a car with a faulty manual lock and faulty battery

Of course none of this covered in their £400 warranty which covers the square root of zero

Disgraceful Aftersales Service

Delighted to see the Hillington branch has now closed.
This means that no one else will have to experience the misery this company put me and my family through.
I was left hundreds of pounds out of pocket due to issues with the vehicle purchased from Peter Vardy Hillington. Absolutely disgraceful aftersales service and to top it off, when I complained I waited over 3 months just to see it completely ignored. Never have I experienced such poor and arrogant customer service.
Good riddance!

After sales is terrible.

I bought my car May last year. After having it a couple of days the sat nav wouldn't work. The Hillington branch had closed down so I had to travel to Motherwell. After 2 visits of 4hours a time they couldn't fix it. I was sent to Arnold Clarks in Bishopbriggs but the head office gave them the wrong info of what was wrong, twice. I ended up in Arnold Clarks in Dumbarton and they were given the wrong info of what was wrong. Luckily I managed to speak to the mechanic and showed him what it was doing (or not doing). Another new part and it was finally sorted. So it took over 10 months and a lot of time and parts to fix. They would have been cheaper to take the whole unit out and replace with a whole new unit and check it was working. I'll never but from Peter Varrdy again.

Poor QA and Communication

The car I bought had a number of minor faults which should have been picked up on, some of which would have failed the MOT that they had done before putting it up for sale. I put the car back in for repairs and it was with PV for a week instead of the stated 2 days. It took several phone calls and emails to get an update about when I could get it back. No courtesy car was offered. Some of the issues were not resolved and it took several phone calls, emails and eventually a formal complaint to get my car fixed a second time. Even the person dealing with my complaint struggled to get a manager to contact me.

PV are unable to communicate with each other

I bought a Nissan Pulsar from Peter Vardy in Glasgow in February 2021. I was living in Scotland at the time and when I moved to England I informed Peter Vardy I was no longer in Scotland.

For the last 2 years, Peter Vardy has plagued me with phone calls and emails reminding me that my car is due a service, MOT, and various other things.

Each time Peter Vardy phone me, I inform them that I no longer live in Scotland and ask them to take me off their phone and mailing lists. Each time Peter Vardy assures me that they will remove me from their mailing and phone lists.

However, the same cycle repeats a few weeks later I have received well over 12 phone calls... I have lost count, to be honest.

The team Peter Vardy has a fundamental communication problem - they are unable to communicate and speak to other and follow up to update their records.

It is obvious to me that the Peter Vardy team needs to be sent on an effective communication course.... you never know it might help.

It is frustrating in the extreme to be told "Don't worry we will update our records" and then subsequently receive another phone call.

I have expressed my frustration to the individuals who have phoned me and now because my requests continue to be completely ignored - I am submitting a review on Trust Pilot.

So one more time - REMOVE ME FROM YOUR PHONE AND EMAIL RECORDS.

Update December 13th

As of today I have received an email and a text reminding me to get my car MOT’ed

Obviously my previous comments have been completely ignored.

When will Peter Vardy stop tormenting me?

From start to finish!

From start to finish I was made to feel like I was important. I work for a non-profit, (The Salvation Army,) and needed a vehicle I could use for that work. Noreen was kind, patient with my constant questions, and informative with all I needed to know as a first-time FlexAuto user.
When I got to the base at Hillington, I was met by two wonderful colleagues of Noreens, Jordyn and another lovely lady who's name escapes me. I would not hesitate to recommend Peter Vardy to anyone, and in fact, have been looking for ways to drop the name in conversations!

weeks ago and was…

Purchased a car 8-9 weeks ago and was told they’d provide a 2nd key within the fortnight. I gave that a weeks grace and contacted the head office in Motherwell to be told someone is on the case. That was 5 weeks ago & heard nothing.

No customer service 01/08/2023

Bought a Mercedes car on 01/08/2023 the car had major issues after purchasing was told the Garage in Glasgow was closing and had to go to Motherwell not close by at all total inconvenience and had to make my own way back taking 2 buses and a train …… the customer service was appauling calls and emails echnored from taking the car over on 18/09/2023 i rejected the car within warranty period took almost 3 weeks to have all matters finalised. I asked for a manager to call me as I was calling daily 3/4 times a day trying to get answers NO customer continuity of customer service I asked for a manager to call didn’t happen. I asked as given a courtesy car WOW disgusting dirty inside used plasters stuck to the floor, dusty, sweets and dirt all over the car and the smell inside was disgusting. The car I had purchased had major engine faults automatic gear box problems how this car passed an MOT the week before I purchased it I will never know appalling they should close down all there garages. I was eventually refunded my funds no compensation of having to constantly call for updates no compensation for the inconvenience of having to use public transport to get to work for 12 hour day and nightshifts. appauling level of customer service

Worst experience ever!

Worst experience ever!! dealing with incompetent people from the very beginning, they couldn't get one thing right, took endless phone calls even a month after I've purchased the car!

Horrific

Worse experience ever buying a car from here. The sales team haven’t a clue. The after sales here are even worse. Then the operations manager talks in riddles and millions, Good laugh to be honest. It’s very Sad the Glasgow site has crumbed mostly due to complaints from customers.

bought 4 cars from PV between…

bought 4 cars from PV between motherwell and hillington branches and have spent thousands with them, Only had gleaming reviews for them up till a few months ago. Purchased a 19 plate polo GTI and on asking about service history book we were told its available on line. ( yes online but NOT available to joe public). On trying to sell the car on we lost a lot of money on this car due to no service record and PV didnt want to know. We were going to come back for a 5th car as it used to be amazing to deal with PV, but now id steer clear of them and would never entertain giving them my custom ever again.
Dealing with them over a number of years but now wouldn't set foot in their door. im now looking to other dealers to buy my new car as Peter Vardy Carz have lost my custom.

Boyfriend bought a car in June 2023 at the Hillington branch and it was a disaster from the offset.

Turned up on date agreed to collect the car and it wasn't ready. While sitting sorting out the documents we discovered that all the trade in documents for his car were someone else's, he had a finance agreement in yet another persons name (even though we were buying the car outright) and a fuel receipt dated November 2022...

Then told the car will be delivered to the house due to the inconvenience... took the day off work to wait for the car, literally zero communication for the car to have a fault on the drive down apparently and it had to go back to the shop.

Had to take another day off work as promised it would come the following day and when it was dropped off only one key was handed over. When I questioned the girl on where the spare key was she said 'I think they have ordered you one...'

After multiple attempts at calling 'head office', my boyfriend was told a date and time to go back to Hillington last month to get his spare key. Upon arrival he was told he had no appointment as they don't deal with spare keys as it is an outsourced company - someone will come to our house and do it...

Also the car was not taxed even though he had paid for 6 months and had driven around for 3 days before realising this. Peter Vardy allowing their employees to deliver cars with no tax... employers not having a duty of care comes to mind! The car was also registered at the wrong address which we had to sort with the DVLA.

Nearly in September and still no spare key, no communication from Peter Vardy and we will never buy a car or recommend them to anyone!!
