I had a really great experience with Proportunity. It was the best way for me to get on the property ladder especially with so many mortgage products being removed from the market at the time. During my search I found especially useful their website in terms of finding properties that were affordable and available for me to purchase.

Excellent experience throughout. Professional and reliable service, would highly recommend for anyone trying to get on the property ladder.

Quite a straight forward process and the mortgage broker appointed by Proportunity takes care of all the paperwork and communication directly with Proportunity. In all a great initiative allowing people like myself to step on to the property ladder to own my house. Only downside is the waiting time for the offer and the high interest rates.

Great alternative to the Government’s scheme Help to Buy. It allowed us to make our dream come true and buy our first house with only 5% deposit!

Proportunity have delivered on everything we asked. When my childhood home came onto the market we were ready to jump at the chance to buy it. Unfortunately due to Covid, high LTV mortgages were nigh on impossible and we were facing missing out due to our 5% deposit. Fortunately however my girlfriend found Proportunity and the rest is history. Even with a tight turnaround due to our house going to auction at the end of this month if we were unable to get finance sorted, Proportunity commited to having our offer through before the end of September and they have delivered. We are now looking to complete in the next few weeks.
Couldnt be happier with the service we received - first with Becky and then with Rachel. They were both quick to put our minds at rest and offer help whenever needed - all in all made the experience very simple and stress free.
Couldnt recommend these guys enough if you have a low deposit and want to buy a house that would otherwise be unatainable.

We went to a Proportunity expo at Acorn Properties in September 2018. By the time that COVID19 hit, we were quite a way off our deposit target. In January 2020, we found our home. We were still off our target. We made an offer and Proportunity helped us manage the time until we were able to close the deal. It took 8 months. A lot of cool heads and everyone is smiling now. I came across this company during lockdown and I’m so happy I managed to stumble onto their website. The information this company provides is amazing especially when you don’t know what’s a fair price like I did when I started looking for a place to buy. I attended one of their webinars and had a free call afterwards and I couldn’t be happier with their service. They’re super friendly and honest and I hope they don’t mind the many properties I’ve shortlisted :)

The one thing these guys can improve on is their neighbourhood map as it’s a tad fiddly.... It kept zooming out every-time I tried to view a property through the map.

COVID-19 was a stressful time. Our sellers were chasing us again and again big nightmare.thankfully Stef was there to help us. He kept his cool and help us to kept ours too. Despite having all the pressure from everyside, one call to him and we felt relaxed. Proportunity gave us the opportunity to realise our dream. Our children are going to have their own bedroom. Never thought it will happen. Thank you soooo much again. We are moving this Friday thanks to you. If you hesitate to go for it don't. Just make sure to give your notice to your landlord once you get your proportunity loan approved. Have a question call or email them. They will reply. They were there for us. We felt so bad to have to call all the time but they never make you feel like you are a burden. Nerves of steel. Thank you.

The concept of Proportunity is great. As a first time buyer, I am keen for my first property to be a good investment and I'm daunted by the prospect of making the 'wrong' decision. The website is filled with tools (particularly the discover neighbourhoods feature), which I found incredibly valuable.

If I find the perfect property which is slightly out of budget, I would certainly consider seeking assistance from Proportunity to boost my deposit.

If you would like further information about the product, I would definitely recommend arranging a call back with a member of the team. Becky was very helpful and talked me through the product and the website in general, pointing me to really interesting features which I had not discovered myself.

Entering the world of house buying is really confusing and sometimes you feel like you don’t want to ask a question for fear of looking stupid. However, I had a really frank and helpful conversation with the customer support team, who really knew their stuff! I wasn’t sure how the mortgage vs their loan would work, so it was really useful to have that clarified.
The website takes a lot of the complication out of house hunting, so I’m looking forward to doing more browsing!

I stumbled across Proportunity when I was researching the government's help to buy scheme. It’s a great idea and perfect for me as I’m looking to buy a property that I can renovate. I had a call with their customer team to find out more, they had lots of helpful advice on finding properties and what the next steps are in the process. I’m still gathering information at the moment but really impressed with the service and the idea.

My wife and I bought a house in St Albans, a commuter town just outside London thanks to them. At best, we could have taken a mortgage for a cramped up flat in zone 3, but having a patch of greenery – a very own backyard – was a luxury we would have never afforded on our own. And what a blessing it’s proved to be during lock-down!

It sounded too good to be true - it turns out it was.
We followed Proportunity's advice with buying our first home, and have had similar experiences to other posters. We found a place we liked, made an offer, got an offer accepted, had discussions with a broker to get everything set up and only THEN do Proportunity tell us they have no money to lend.

This was in February, our tenancy was due to expire in June of this year. We then found out that there was a waiting list for the next 'investment' which extended as far back as people who had made offers in October/November 2019!!!

It started by them telling us that they would have money by the end of February, then this moved to March, then all of a sudden to June. I dread to think what state all of the poor people waiting in limbo with this company are in now.

We were lucky enough to have a fantastic broker who managed to help us source a different solution, so our move could actually go ahead.

It is SUCH a shame, as this business really is a fantastic idea and fills a well needed gap for people that don't want to be forced into Help to Buy and only being able to invest in new builds.

It is also a shame that Proportunity seem to want to invest their money in Marketing events to gain new customers, instead of actually fulfilling the needs of their existing ones.

Personally - I would avoid and not recommend. You can spend the time you would waste waiting around for these guys to come through at risk of you losing the home you made an offer on by actually taking a bit more time to save and buy on your own where you can.

Smooth digital experience. Refreshingly down to earth and nice customer service. Felt these guys were always on my side.

Got recommended by a friend who knew I had no idea where to start looking. Wouldn’t have spotted that many up and coming neighbourhoods had I not checked Proportunity.

Was able to expand my search area to some great new places and find many promising flats well within my budget.

Worth checking the platform even if you’re not taking out an equity loan from them. It’s free. Anyone can use it.

Goes way beyond any property listing website out there. It’s like having your own buying agent help you find the best home

Super helpful customer service. Got put off from buying our first home because banks pulled out lower deposit mortgages. Dreaded the idea of frugal living for another year to save up the deposit gap. But Proportunity seem to have saved the day! Looking forward to making our home purchase with them in the coming months.
