We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience. However, your review does not accurately reflect the timeline of events.

Our records show that your email was sent at 5:57pm, after our office had already closed at 5:00pm. This review was then left at approximately 6:30pm, before we had even reopened, so unfortunately you did not give us the opportunity to respond to your enquiry.

We pride ourselves on replying to customer emails promptly during our normal business hours and would have been more than happy to assist you once we reopened.

We’re sorry you feel this way.

The requirement to provide proof of identity and proof of entitlement is a legal requirement for all DVLA Registered Number Plate Suppliers and has been in place for over 20 years. This information is provided on the front page of our website, during the ordering process, immediately after checkout, in the order confirmation email and on the secure document upload page.

Customers are able to upload their documents immediately after placing their order using the secure upload link provided, and many choose to do so, allowing their order to be processed without delay.

Unfortunately, personalised number plates that have already been manufactured are exempt from the standard cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Whilst we appreciate that this may not have been the outcome you were hoping for, we have complied with both the law and the terms agreed at the time of purchase.

We’re sorry that you were disappointed with your experience.

Our records show that your order could not be dispatched because the legally required documents were either not provided or were not in a format that we are permitted to accept. As a DVLA Registered Number Plate Supplier, we are legally required to verify both proof of identity and proof of entitlement before we can supply number plates, and we cannot make exceptions to these requirements.

We do not dispatch any order until the correct documentation has been received and verified. As soon as valid documents are uploaded, orders are processed without delay.

We appreciate that this process can sometimes be frustrating, but these checks are in place to help prevent fraudulent or cloned number plates and to protect legitimate motorists. If you still require assistance with your order, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you upload the correct documents so your order can be completed.

We appreciate that the document requirements can sometimes be confusing, however we advised you on multiple occasions which forms of identification are legally acceptable for a DVLA registered number plate supplier to accept.

These requirements are not unique to Quick Plates and are set by the legislation governing the supply of road legal number plates.

We also note that the information we provided was repeated several times, but it appeared that our emails were not being read in full, which understandably made resolving the matter more difficult.

We’re sorry that you feel this way, as this certainly doesn’t reflect the experience we aim to provide.

Having reviewed the correspondence, we note that the entire conversation lasted less than 45 minutes, so the suggestion that messages had been going back and forth for “hours” is simply not accurate. In fact, we replied to your messages within approximately five minutes.

As a DVLA registered number plate supplier, we can only accept certain legally prescribed documents. Where incorrect or incomplete documents are uploaded, we have no option but to request alternative proofs to ensure we remain compliant with the regulations.

We appreciate that this can sometimes be frustrating, but these requirements are set by law and apply to all road legal number plate suppliers.

Nevertheless, we are always happy to assist customers through the process and remain committed to responding as quickly as possible.

Hi Liza,

We are sorry to hear you were unhappy with your experience, however we do feel some clarification is needed.

We did not refuse your order arbitrarily. As a DVLA registered number plate supplier, we are legally required to obtain and verify acceptable proof before manufacturing registration plates. We explained this during our correspondence and even provided a link directly to the relevant government guidance so that the requirements could be viewed independently rather than simply taking our word for it.

We are therefore a little surprised by the suggestion that we were advised by DVLA that we should simply proceed regardless. The requirements for registered suppliers exist for a reason, and we have a legal obligation to follow them.

Different suppliers may choose to interpret or request documentation differently, but we cannot comment on another company’s processes. Our responsibility is to ensure we remain compliant with the regulations we are required to operate under.

We certainly were not trying to make things difficult, and our intention was simply to ensure the correct documentation was provided before proceeding.
