Was leasing a car through them with maintenance package. Had a load of hassle with the reliability of the car so decided to return it early. Got a quote from them for how much it would cost. They didn't include anything for the maintenance package but when I got the final invoice they had added the cost for the maintenance. They sold the car through a car auction company so never actually paid anything for the maintenance - a nice little bonus for them and an extra charge for me. When I contacted them they couldn't justify the charge just said they would be taking it anyway. No doubt car leasing is the next PPI scandal. The Banks haven't learnt - they are just as greedy and arrogant as ever.

I brought a car and gave them my bank details in store. Only received a letter through the post the other day from Santander to say they could not set up my direct debit, so I called them today to get it sorted, lady was very rude and said I was in arrears and what was the reason for it. I explained I only just got the letter through so that's why I was calling to rectify the situation. I was then told I may incur a charge for the payment being late! Absolutely appalling, the way I was spoken to and then said I would be charged when in fact I had already given my bank details. She then went on to say if I don't pay my bills on time it would give me bad credit, I have never ever paid late bills.
Santander you need to train your advisors how to speak to CUSTOMERS correctly.
I have finance with these people and wish i hadn't bothered
I have finance with these people on a car I paid £22,000 for. It has turned out not to be what it was advertised as so I rejected it with the dealer within 30 days as per my Consumer Rights. Since then it has been a nightmare as Santander have not supported me in the rejection and the complaints handler doesn't understand or doesn't want to understand what the issue with the car is and frankly sounds like some young kid. I now have had the vehicle pushed back on to me, and I am having to pay to get an independent engineer to do an inspection so I can throw it back at the dealer. In the meantime I am still paying the finance and will definitely not get caught with a used car again or a finance company that care more about the dealer as a customer than they do about me, and let's face it the dealer is a far bigger customer than I am. When I asked for a more senior person to deal with the complaint and get back to me as I was unhappy with the handlers lack of ability to understand the problem it has been completely ignored.
My advice to all of you out there is 2 things, 1 Beware of motor traders as most are wolves who will rinse you for every penny they can bleed out of you with extra this and that. 2 Finance houses that help them do it to you and then protect them regardless of your Consumer rights!!

I keep paying every month yet they keep calling me twice a day about payment. I will send them the bill tomorrow for harassment and nuisance and deliberate waste of my time £100 per each phone call
