This is the worst possible surface for a stove. We had a Magic Chef electric oven for 30 years and the top surface was still in perfect condition. So, we just bought this Whirlpool with the Shott Ceran surface and it looks like hell in less than 60 days. I want to return this pile of junk back to Lowes!

Chips and stains all the.time. it shoumd not be this hard to keep a stove clean.

Er wordt geadverteerd met de meest slijtvaste kookplaat die op de markt is maar in werkelijkheid is het hoogstwaarschijnlijk een flinterdun laagje die bij het minste geringste begint te verbrokkelen en loslaat.
Krasvast is hij ook beslist niet!
Bij keukenloods, witgoedreparaties en kuppersbusch zeggen ze consequent dat het een gebruikersfout is maar geen van allen legt het probleem bij Schott ceran.
Ik heb inmiddels een tweetal glasplaten gehad, de eerste verloor binnen een jaar de harde ceramische laag( waarschijnlijk veel eerder maar viel toen niet op)..
De ceramische laag van de tweede plaat is nu binnen twee maanden al aan het brokkelen.

We have had our Scott Ceran hob for 11 years, it is absolutely fantastic, apart from the odd little scratch it’s as good as new. We are a family of five and cook a lot. Thanks for a great piece of equipment.

AGA Australia/UK – Product and Customer Service Review

In July 2021, we purchased an AGA ER3 90-I Black electric cooker from AGA Australia. The installation was completed in April 2022. Initially, we were excited about investing in what I believed to be a premium brand, known for quality and reliability. Unfortunately, our experience since has been less than satisfactory, both with the product and the after-sales support.

Product Quality Concerns - Despite AGA’s claims that their induction cooktops, made by Schott Ceran, are “very durable,” we noticed significant scratching on the induction surface. We have taken great care when cooking on the glass cooktop and have not dragged or shaken any cooking utensils across the surface. We have only used appropriate cookware—pots, pans, and an AGA kettle—yet scratches appeared under normal use.

Customer Service Experience - The damage to the induction cooktop was reported in September 2024. The response from AGA Australia was dismissive. Without viewing the fault in person, they wanted photos. Once received, they claimed the scratches were due to “dragging pots and pans,” classifying it as accidental damage, not a manufacturing fault.

After demanding a physical inspection in November, where the sales representative acknowledged her own induction top had not scratched under rough use, the issue was still denied warranty coverage by AGA UK in January 2025.

The distributor shifted to Andi-co in April 2025, so we decided to resubmit the warranty claim, only to receive the same response from AGA UK. They again refused to accept the damage as a fault, with no inspection of the unit conducted and no technical testing performed. Andi-co requested that we perform a clean with their recommended ceramic cleaner and scraper. We took photographs and a video of the before and after—the ceramic cleaning had only worsened the damage.

We attempted to escalate the issue, pointing out that if the cooktop is so sensitive, AGA should include a hob protector. We requested photos of other similar customer complaints to validate whether this is an isolated incident or part of a larger issue. This was refused on privacy grounds.

We have now been quoted nearly $4,800 (AUD) to replace the induction top when the AGA cost us $16k (AUD) initially—a staggering cost for a product that should not have failed under standard use. This entire ordeal has left us feeling incredibly frustrated and let down by a company that promotes itself as a premium brand but fails to back that up with quality support or accountability.

While the AGA range may look beautiful and promises a premium cooking experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering a purchase of this product to be aware of potential issues with the induction cooktop. You may want to rethink purchasing this product if you think you will receive premium support or reasonable warranty resolution and handling.

I thought I was just a terrible cook — turns out the cooktop is a drama queen. One drop of water? Off. Move a pan? Off. Slow cooker simmering? Off. But bump it accidentally? Surprise! Level 5 ON — I’ve lost two appliances to its spontaneous tantrums. One burner refuses to boil water, ever. Unless you’re into chaos cooking, steer clear.

If your only purpose is to have a fancy gadget, so, buy a Scott ceran stove.
The system is so difficult to use. Everytime the integrated fan override all the other functions.
Then, for no reason, using at 5 for medium cooking ( same pan, same dishes, same volume as I follow the same recipe) sometimes it takes 15mn to reach the boiling point, sometimes it takes only 2 mn and it overheat as crazy.
This activated my CO2 detectors multiple times and ruin my dishes.
I thought by buying an expensive one, I will get a good product, but nope.
It is just fancy. Eventually you can re heat things but not suitable for cooking.

We purchased a 36" Fridgedaire Professional induction stove with a Schott Ceran top, OMG what a mistake. After using the stove for a year, the top is in worse condition than the 23yr old glass top stove it replaced. It scratches so easily that it does not live up to it's name. Never ever will I purchase anything with a Schott Ceran top ever again. This is the worst quality ever!!!!!!!

Bought a Schott Ceran 7 years ago. Now it needs repairing and there is no one who can get parts, so need to replace it. Giving it 2 stars as it did last 7 years.

If you like to do anything more than look at your stove then this is not the one for you. It is quite literally a show piece. Trying to boil water or sear meat is practically impossible. I can not emphasize enough do not buy this product.

La pero vitroceramica de induccion que puede haber, se cambian los fogones solo con menear la sarten, en cuanto no esta en el punto exacto se apaga, de verdad me gustaria hablar con la persona que diseño esto porque desde luego solo se nota que no ha cocinado en la vida

Placa de cocina. Una tortura. En cuanto cae alguna gota (inevitable si estás cocinando) a los mandos, comienza a pitar y da error, se apaga y hay que volver a a encender. Cuando se limpia, igual. Continuamente pitando. Es desagradable cocinar en esta placa. Te vuelve loco con los pitidos y errores. Con ganas de que se estropee para renovar por otra marca. Horrible experiencia.

After few months, the glass started to peel up...not good for high heat cooking.

We bought a house with the Ariston Schott Ceran cooktop already installed. I have not been able to use it because it is stuck in the lock position and no matter what I do I cannot unlock it. I have tried calling a Ariston but it's a bot and you have to pay...not doing that. Rang Ariston, they didn't know, gave me a number for a technician. They were useless and wouldn't come. Ended up replacing with another brand.

I hate this product with my entire soul every day of my life. The absolute worst stove and worst product I have ever used. I wouldn't recommend this stove to my worst enemy. What a terribly designed product. It doesn't recognize small induction pans, it shuts off constantly for no reason, and the heat is inconsistent. Run so far away from this brand.

The worst hobb I have ever bought, it doesn't hold the heat, shuts off in the middle of cooking, so useless if you need high heat for stir frys or steak or pancakes it's useless

When we decided to get a new kitchen we thought we would be eco friendly and bite the bullet and get an induction hob after years of gas. I have to say, I hate it! People told me it’s just a good and responsive as gas, rubbish! It’s so not user friendly and the controls are useless. Besides the fact that we had to buy loads of new pans etc, it just doesn’t cut it for me. Never again!

Terrible product, shut's down by itself when you least want it and refuses to turn on again. Very difficult to use. Stay away from this product or be prepared to order home delivery when it shuts down.

We just bought a house with a Schott Ceran stovetop after years of living with gas ranges, and we are obsessed. People on here are complaining about buttons, and maybe the beauty of ours is it has turn dials. Simple. Elegant. Fully powered by our solar panels. Huge $ saver over a gas stove. All of our friends are looking into ordering! Big fan club here in Northern California!

Nice looking hob but that’s it. I have never had a more annoying hob ever. When a tiny amount of water touches the surface it start to beep. You wipe it but it continues to beep until it’s super dry then you have to restart the hob. Sometime if oil splatters up or a droplet of boiling water touches the surface it can cha be the setting from 3 to highest number 9. Really dangerous and you can’t leave the kitchen…
