I ordered bamboo garden screening and was wary from the start as the parcel was lighter by far than the shorter screening I had ordered from another supplier. The product was nothing like the picture online, poorly made with huge gaps and damaged slats. I was invited to return it and the company charged me £8 to return a defective item not fit for purpose. Not to be trusted. I wish I could submit photos here.

In response to your reply below, I should not have been charged for the return:
CONSUMER RIGHTS ACT
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, products must be fit for purpose, as described and of a satisfactory quality.
If the item you bought doesn’t meet these standards and you return it, you shouldn’t be charged a return fee.

Items delivered very quickly. There was an issue with part of the order (packing error at the warehouse), but a full refund was issued with no quibbles. Friendly customer service and quick responses to emails. I'd be confident buying from them again.

Difficult item to source delivered early. Item concerned was exactly what was required to resolve an unexpected problem that occurred with a job. However, due to number of 1 star Trustpilot reviews I was reluctant to order and "took a chance." Very pleased when delivery arrived a day early - plus points because used Royal Mail and item was sent and arrived First Class Service - postman knocked and handed in item and it was NOT left on doorstep by a Courier who could not even be bothered to ring doorbell! (Cannot understand when companies who want repeat business use carries such as Evri.) Plus points to supplier for using relaible carrier - better do this than save a few pence using a cowboy courier service. It would be useful if carrier being used was advised, preferably at time order was placed.
Some concern over level of info show on order confirmation as e-mails are not secure.
I would use this supplier again based on my first order experience.

My first order from Sealants and Tools Direct - hopefully soon to become many more re DIY works - was for two simple inside-and-outside thermomenters which are superbly accurate and fast acting, eg in different parts of just one single bedroom. And each one has easy-to-read wide-ranging Celsius + Fahr. scales.

But it was the huge care their staff took with getting these small items to us amazingly safely + quickly which felt miraculous! As I'd worried re ID criminals wishing to gain possession of our home intercepting and slightly damaging the package + items before reaching me - which has been usual over the past 15 or so years...

However, having placed my order online at 18:01 Sun 10/12/23, at 07:28 Monday morning I emailed S+TD warning them of our problems and asking that they tell me how the package would be sent so we could watch out and try to stop the delivery reaching another address first. And 45 minutes later they emailed me back re 'royal mail postman' would be making the delivery!

Somehow, royal mail [for once] speedily got the package to us by the next morning absolutely undamaged... which had not happened for years!

So Huge thanks to S+TD for somehow managing this. And wishing you all surely a well-earned seasonal holiday and a really good business year to come in difficult times for all. from MJ

Very pleased with the service. They not only had what I required when virtually no one else did, but they also had the product in stock at a very reasonable price (even including delivery) and despatched it extremely rapidly. I would definitely use again based on my experience.

Placed an order told goods be despatched in 3 days a week later after chasing them twice their courier has lost our parcel.
Poor service
Poor communication, first chase up took our phone number but never called back.
Now ordered with a third party and refund requested.

Ordered an unusual shade of silicone sealant, quoted three day delivery, arrived next day a little over 24hours after ordering. Excellent.

As a lot of others have said, there website states items are in stock but after placing an order I received an email stating they don’t have stock available.

AVOID
Take your payment, then email you that item not in stock

Constant lies about when stock coming in.

Next call tell you item complete ready for dispatch should be with you Monday.

Monday gets email 1 item not in stock.

But before weekend was told it ready for delivery.

Matting out of stock but we have alternative, slightly shorter.

As for manger, she don't have a scooby doo about the building trade.

Regarding your reply you couldn't make it up if you tried.

You offered to set me 1 in place of the other.
I then had to phone up to order another roll to make up the 50m I originally ordered.

As for dates and times I've never come across any company that keeps changing dates then say order is compete ready for dispatch then Monday to be told again sorry no stock again.

Fantastic selection of silicone colours and very fast delivery! Very impressed with their customer service!

I bought 4 kneeler cushions for the garden on 15th August. The price was excellent and delivery was within the specified time period so the service from STDL was good. However, the kneelers are advertised by STDL as being 25mm thick, whilst the manufacturers photo of the product on the STDL website states they are 2cm (20mm) thick but on receipt of my order on 18th August I found the cushions were only 12.5mm (1.25cm) thick. So though I am happy with the service provided I am disappointed with the product supplied.

Subsequent to posting my initial Trustpilot review of STDL, they responded and confirmed that following checks they had established that their supplier had changed the specification of the product and the kneeler pads are now supplied only 13mm thick. As a result of this, STDL provided a full refund of the cost of my order on 21st August 2023. My original disappointment with the product ordered has has been assuaged by STDL in light of their willingness to investigate the issues I raised and also provide a full refund. Thank you; excellent customer service.

Great service!
I was a little concerned after reading some of the other reviews, but my order arrived promptly, it was very well packaged and the prices are very competitive. I'd order again!

Ordered liquid DPM, rollers and plasticiser for site and only half the order turned up.

Requested refund from a member of their staff, no mention of when it will be refunded, just an "OK"

Passing the info to our lawyer to sue this company for losses incurred because their lack of delivery and can't be bothered attitude to call back "after" checking if the other half could be sent the following day has left us out of pocket by £1000's something we have every intention of claiming from this company through the courts.

Why does the page that you can track your order not exist?

I've used them many times in the past without issue but boy how things have changed, I placed an order on the 14th well aware it stated 2 - 4 days delay after 6 days of hearing nothing i called to see the status of my order, the lady that answered really needs to work on her telephone manner it was shocking, she told me the goods were out for delivery the next day (weds) weds comes and goes and i called again today (fri) and the same lady answered and this time she told me it would be a few weeks and i should of called before ordering for an eta, when i stated i had been told they were out for delivery just days early she flat out lied and said there was no one there that would of told me that. I then asked for a refund and was told ok and the phone was put down on me. Avoid at all costs.

I should have the read reviews First! As requested I rang to check stock, we went through the 4 items I needed and all were in stock. I placed the order within 5 minutes of the phone call. After a week of chasing I had received only one of the four items. They finally admitted that the remaining items had not been in stock and were due in Friday (about 2 weeks from placing order). Judging by previous reviews that may very well be a delaying tactic. I will wait for confirmation.

Took my order, a week later sent a refund. No email to explain why. What a waste of time. Now I have to order elsewhere and wait for a proper company to deliver. I certainly won't be using them ever again.

Update: received an email saying out of stock and discontinued only after I posted this feedback. However, they still have the item listed for sale and in stock on their website!
