My experience with Sedgley Motor Company was extremely disappointing.
I purchased a vehicle for just under £30,000 and identified a number of issues shortly after delivery, including a faulty charging port, concerns regarding the condition of the tyres (dry rot on a performance vehicle ) and several other potential defects. I therefore exercised my legal right to reject the vehicle within the 14-day period. Despite the law Abdul told me I couldn't.
What followed was over 7 weeks of chasing, delays and poor communication.
Eventually was repeatedly told that collection would be arranged and that I would receive updates, however these commitments often failed to materialise. On one occasion I was advised that collection would take place within 7 days, yet weeks passed with no progress. I was also informed that attempts had been made to contact me, despite me having no record of receiving those calls.
One of the responses I received during the dispute was that it was a used car and perhaps I should buy a new one. In my view, that misses the point entirely. I was never expecting a used vehicle to be perfect. I simply expected it to be accurately described and for any faults or issues to be dealt with professionally.
The vehicle remained unused on my driveway while I continually chased for updates. I even offered to contribute towards reasonable transport costs in an effort to resolve matters quickly.
Eventually, after the involvement of my credit card provider, numerous emails, messages and phone calls, the vehicle was collected and I have now received a full refund.
To be fair, the refund was ultimately processed. However, the amount of time, effort and stress required to achieve what should have been a straightforward resolution was unacceptable.
The most disappointing aspect was not the vehicle itself but the handling of the situation afterwards. Better communication, accurate descriptions and following through on commitments would have avoided much of this.
Issue happen that's life but how they are dealt with is what matters.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Sedgley Motor Company.

My Experience Buying A Car From Sedgley
Recently purchased my dream car from the boys @ Sedgley Group - Mercedes E63s !!!! Honestly I canât fault the guys here. Ofcourse when your buying a 2nd hand car you might have a little 1 or 2 things that need dealing with thatâs when after sales care comes into play. I had the pleasure of meeting Zeeshan & Abdul on the day of my test drive the boys were very hospitable and very down to earth. Reassured me throughout the process that they hear no matter what. I bought the car and walked away 5 weeks later Iâm ringing them with something that needs dealing with and half hour later itâs booked into the dealers local to me. Iâve bought a few cars in my time and the worst bit is worrying whether the dealership is going to help you with the after sales care. I canât recommend these guys enough. I know il get bored of the E63 very soon so as soon as that happens be sure to know il be back at to see you boys !! Abdul your a dream to deal with mate keep it up !!
