I have been trying to monitor my portfolio using a spreadsheet. Even though I am quite good with spreadsheets, and automated it as much as possible, it was still error-prone and time-consuming. Sharesight gives me all the information I need, so is well worth the cost, which is a very small percentage of my portfolio value. Onboarding was easy, I uploaded spreadsheets with all my buy/sell transactions.

Very good until it goes wrong.
No data tracking, so if something goes wrong, it is impossible to restore the position.
Could be so much better.

Sharesight: makes tracking my investments so much easier. I use this for work with large numbers of investments in many portfolios. Using custom investments is also great. For personal use I have many investments on DRP's and tracking this and getting a history is fantastic. Something which is not easily done on the broker sites or with a spreadsheet. I would really like more connection with the netWealth platform so that international trades can import automatically. Some company bond stocks also are not in the list and I would like more of these added instead of me having to create a custom investment.

I've been impressed that the product recognised and easily imported the majority of my investments but if you're looking to import historic cash transactions you can forget it. There are no bulk transfer options at all and you can only import buy and sell trades. Everything else has to be manually imported. Even for a modest portfolio this can run into thousands of transactions and would have been a deal-breaker for me if I'd known this in advance.

Help function very useful. Real person interaction. Suggestion worked. Timely response.

I am running virtual(paper) stock portfolio on Sharesight to improve on my day and swing trading skillset and drive some proven alpha. About a year ago, I looked at several other trading sites for virtual trading and Sharesight was the quickest to set up, literally minutes. Others took days and some weeks for approvals. Sharesight's functionality and customer interface are excellent. The portfolio management system is outstanding and easy to momitor.

Very useful, in particular for non US based investors, since it recognizes UCITS compliant funds, including all European stock exchanges. Excellent report capabilities, including ROMAD analysis.
Clean and intuitive interface. Effective help desk.

I have just spent 5 frustrating hours trying to separate 2 portfolios prior to loading my Commsec USA Portfolio of 23 stocks.
I would love to be able to talk to a real person who I believe could solve the problem for me in approx 3- 5 mins

TheShareSight system gives me a clear view of my investments, and I can structure the ShareSight portfolios to match the perspective I want. The team are always quick to respond to any questions I put into the Chat system (allowing for time zones). I use ShareSight a lot and it continues to develop in a way that is receptive to customer feedback.

Addition to investment view
I requested consideration of an addition to the investment view and was very pleased to get a response within an hour and that Sharesite were already working on my suggestion prior to me asking very timely response

There is nothing that let's me upload my investments, I've paid for the service and there is nothing but a tracker portfolio.
Got confirmation of my payment going through but thats it.
Read the cancellation policy carefully. If you pay for the full year you are NOT entitled to ANY of it back. Be warned.

Would be good if you could transfer money between 2 bank accounts.

The ability to calculate CGT is great and really why I came here. Much of the better reports and functionality is still locked away on the highest paywall tier and for me its difficult to justify the cost monthly.

Easy to use programme, and saved me heaps of time juggling spreadsheets.
Good clear steps if your are unsure.
Excellent rapid response to any queries.
Sharesight have added in new features which are useful for example the future income report and the calendar. Both of these are great when balancing your overall income for the year.
I have a far better understanding of my portfolio compared to information from my stockbroker.

Sharesight does have a lot of good features, being able at a glance to see how one has performed on the portfolio. I can see capital gain and currency and dividend pa which is great. I am not totally familiar with all the feature of the package. I think there needs to be a simple tutorial manual that one can read and understand in a simple way. The other thing is that if i buy a particular share at a price and date, then buy some more ditto and then say sell some, does the program calculate all this ? It would be very good to know. I would appreciate someone either emailing or calling me to discuss. Thanks

I invest in US shares while based in NZ, and originally signed up with Sharesight to help calculate my NZ FIF tax liabilities. Sharesight links in perfectly with my Interactive Brokers account, and was worth the yearly subscription for just the FIF report function! I've increasingly started using the 'Diversity' Report function, with custom categories to keep track of my exposure across industries and themes, which has been great in this market.
