Amazing service & Comms. I ordered on Saturday and it arrived Tuesday. No messing around, well packaged and an email at every step of the way. At an awesome price point too. I would highly recommend them.

Found a bottle of wine for a great price, but was initially put off by the bad reviews. I decided to take the risk and I'm glad I did. Communication was great throughout and my parcel was delivered by DHL within a couple of days. It's great to see a company clearly take on board previous feedback and make positive changes. Will buy from again.

Ordered from the website because the price was really good - and then I read the reviews !
I shouldn't have worried - Order was acknowledged, but then I did have to wait a few days for the shipment notification to arrive. After that I was kept updated on progress and the delivery was made swiftly by DHL. Great packaging with each bottle in a separate air bag tube.
The phones aren't answered and the contact form doesn't seem to work, but the order was delivered within a reasonable timeframe and the extremely reasonable price was not actually taken from PayPal until the parcel was shipped.
Overall assessment, I will be using this company again.

Excellent service. Order placed 9pm on the 7th January, received before mid-day on the 9th. Kept informed of progress from the point of placing order; order received/being picked and packed/dispatched for delivery. Faultless, can't understand all the negative comments on here.

Not suitable as gifts due to noticeable defects with labelling.
Different types of spirits in the same order each had poor quality labelling which might be why they can sell as discounted prices. Wasn't offered an exchange when I asked to swap for ones that were better quality without visible defects.

Today I received a beutfully packaged order of Del Maguey Chichicapa Mezcal from Simply Wine Direct. This had proved difficult to source and at this extremely good price point. These aspects of the experience cannot be faulted.
However the initial process of receiving confirmation of order, processing and possible dispatch/delivery times proved impossible. After numerous attempts of contacting the company no response was evident. Credit card transaction remained "pending"
This went on for over one week concern being exacerbated by the alrming amount of negative reviews on Tripadvisor.
I made one final attempt threatening to contact my credit card company which elicited a friendly and polite response saying the order was about to be fulfilled. And here it is!
Would love to know the back story to this business as they certainly are doing themselves no favour. I however raise a glass of smoky mezcal to them despite the paranoia "engendered2

I also ordered wine without checking the reviews. We did not receive any communication from the company whatsoever and contacted our bank about this. However, yesterday I received an email from DHL saying my wine was being delivered today - which it has. Beautifully packaged and exactly the wine I ordered. Maybe I've been lucky but if the company do not contact customers they will not last long.

Sadly,no communication at all after placing order, won't answer phone, and has not replied to online query. Seeking refund from card company. I should have checked these reviews before ordering from them, but you live and learn....

Doubts arose because no delivery date was shown and almost impossible to make contact with company. Dashboardconfirmed the order so had to have faith. Payment taken after 3 days and delivery of correct wine happened inside a week. So despite the bad reviews and scare stories of being bust the company came through!

This company has gone out of bisness.
as has the Vine Wisperer & the Ministery of Drinks.
Like others I placed an order with vine wisperer then nouthing. All 3 companies above are linked.

I ordered wine on line from this company and received an order confirmation immediately. One week later DHL tried to deliver to the wrong address. I contacted DHL who told me to contact the suppliers. I contacted Simply Wines but phone mailbox was full and they did not respond to my mail. This week I got DHL mail to say wine had been delivered and received by someone else at a different address. Naturally I have put a dispute in place with my credit card company. Pity as I really wanted the wine.

Stupidly I ordered a case of six bottles from these people - 4 were delivered and 2 put on 'back order'. That was October 2023 (its now June 2024) - having dealt with them before I should have known better.........

Like many I found the website via a search online and made an order for a case of wine. Paid via a credit card and then…..nothing. Chased via email (unanswered), Live Chat (unavailable) and the online customer service message but all messages went unanswered. Have now requested the credit card provider put this transaction in dispute. Shameful enterprise, such a waste of time & energy for all concerned.

I ordered 5 bottles of premium whisky, the prices were very competitive vs other sellers. After a week after an order have not received a shipment confirmation, reached out to the customer service. They replied promptly explaining that one position was out of stock and they expect to ship in few days. It was then delivered in 2 days, well packaged, exactly the items that I had ordered. I have seen other negative reviews and writing this comment as my experience was positive. My only feedback to the seller is to improve comms with the clients and if there are delays or other changes to proactively communicate. That's the only reason why I am not putting a 5 star review

I have just received another order from Simply Wines. Again great service and speedy delivery. I have been ordering from this company, not regularly, but for years and have never had a problem with deliveries, service or stock availability.

I see some the reviews below had a worse time than me with Simply Wines Direct. At least I got a delivery of wine, albeit the wrong wine. When asked why they had sent the wrong wine they said the supplier had changed the labels (!). I suspect they didn't have the wine shown on their website which I ordered and thought this poor sap won't notice the difference. Also notice the owner and sole director is very adept at making himself invisible.

I found the website impossible to use: it appears this company is far more used to dealing with robots than humans and presumably more satisfactorily. I wonder what wines they buy? Anyway, the price for the wine I wanted was very competitive so I called and left a message. No response so I called again a few days later and left another message. No response again. Now I understand why more than 50% of their reviews are 1 star. I have had a lucky escape.

I placed my order for six bottles of one of my favourite South African reds with Simply Wines Direct, being the first time I have used them. After placing my order I read some reviews which were less than complimentary, so I was a little perturbed.
However during the week I have been kept up to date with progress emails, and this lunchtime received my wines, superbly packed, via DHL on a Saturday delivery,no extra charge, expecting them on Monday
My experience genuinely could not be any better, and I will not hesitate to place my next order with them.

Ordered champagne before Xmas.

Took a while for the warehouse manager to get in touch but once he did (he asked if we still wanted the item) it was dispatched quickly via DHL and received fine.

Combined with the excellent price we were very happy.
