Sadly had a very jarring experience
Sadly had a very negative experience.
The clinic is hard to find, buried inside a random building and badly signposted within.
I was made to wait 30-40 mins, then had the luxury of being given maybe 5 minutes of time?
Makes a lot more sense in hindsight now as i was clearly being rushed through the appointment as fast as humanly possible with the bare minimum advice or help, or response to my prepared questions, in order to catch up on how behind the clinic was & how many people were waiting. I got the overwhelming feeling that i was being ushered out of the door within 2 minutes of being in the appointment also. I was not informed there would also be a second person stood over me the entire appointment. Not entirely sure what that was for. Incredibly invasive and was not aware of this.
If i didnât research heavily beforehand I would've gotten absolutely nothing out of this appointment. I probably got maybe 10-20% of the help i needed & had to suggest my own treatment & prescription. Baffling. I was then given barely any instruction on basic application use. When? At what time? What will it look like? What should i expect? I had to suggest all of this to her. Upon research this is a strong treatment and i literally had to suggest taking it at night, once a day. I legitimately felt like i was being judged, given half an answer which i had to then ask further and prompt relentlessly to get a slither of information. I have gotten far more comprehensive advice and protocol from a 2 minute chatgpt conversation.
The prescription i received is also nowhere near sufficient amount & is deemed clinically unsafe and dangerous to use once opened after 2-3 days. Im being instructed to use 4 sachets over 6 weeksâŠ.. work that one out. Extremely concerning. The box comes in 16 sachets amounts and i was only deemed to need 4 apparently which makes no mathematical sense either way. Guess my case wasnât severe enough to be taken seriously in hindsight & was unlucky enough to go on the worst day maybe?
I also got conflicting information in the appointment at one point. I got an extremely brief explanation of âother options â when I specifically asked twice and I still don't understand anything i got told in this brief encounter. I have no idea on what i would do if this doesnât work ( when i can actually start the treatment that is ) and i have no idea on side effects, next steps, next level of severity of treatment, timescales. Anything.
I was then prescribed an amount that appears to be 1/4 of the amount i needed according to the NHS, pharmacy, chatgpt & other medical websites.
Guessing thatâs part of the racket to force me back and pay for more? As my case will deemed âserious enough â then and i get the privilege of paying more.
I was also held in some random room for 10 minutes on my own post appointment then the second lady who was stood watching the entire appointment gave me some sortâve performative debrief? Guessing thats to create the illusion there was some sort of advice or service given. I still don't quite understand what happened that day, the whole experience was bizarre.
I still don't have my correct prescription & havenât had a call back about it from the clinic and have had to chase the pharmacy to get it.
I was also late getting back to my car and had to sprint to it as I had ran out of parking by 10 minutes due to being held in the clinic for almost an hour extra, somehow avoided a parking ticket.
The whole experience was jarring, invasive, lacked any privacy, got 2/10 level of âhelpâ or âexpertiseâ and i feel slighted. I legitimately just wanted some basic advice, answers to my questions and a prescription suggestion as there is no other way to get this treatment or something similar. I left embarrassed, rushed, over £250 down & legitimately demoralised. Made me certain i will never use a private clinic again & found the whole experience to be odd.
I hate leaving complaints but this still isnât resolved & its dawning on me how dangerous this could be so I havenât even been able to begin my treatment. Not only am i no further forward, im now at least 2 steps back, demoralised & feeling slightly foolish that i thought this would actually help. Overwhelming sense that iâve been worked here.
Maybe i was very unlucky and got taken advantage of circumstantially, but either way it was a brutal experience and would urge others to avoid or deal with it yourself as bad as that sounds.
