We are sorry to hear you are disappointed, however we can confirm that as per our Terms and Conditions our minimum requirement is meeting six individuals, and we are also unable to help if we have 'No-shows' to an event.
We are sorry to hear that only four of the ladies have entered their choices post event, however please note that the system is open for 28 days post-event so this may change! However as we are sure you can understand, we cannot force daters to enter their choices after an event.

Event cancelled with little notice / poor communication
I booked an event at High Spirits in Reading, which was cancelled at really short notice, the afternoon before. I received a text informing me but no email as the text stated there would be. When I logged onto their website, I noticed I had been rebooked to a date in two months which I can’t make and requested a refund by email instead. When I tried to log onto the new date in September, it cancelled my request and now it looks as if I cancelled it! No response after several requests. Just being able to speak to a person would be helpful or a response to advise why the event was cancelled and to be asked whether I wanted a refund or different event date. I’m still awaiting a response as I don’t want to be out of pocket and disappointingly, this was my first speed dating event which took a lot of courage to book in the first place.

We can confirm that the event was postponed due to low numbers and as we are sure you can understand we would never want to run an event with an imbalance of attendees and would rather transfer you to the next available date, which you are also able to manage too.
We can confirm that we replied to your both your email and Facebook messages yesterday to inform you that a refund is being processed and will be with you in 5 - 10 working days, however this too may have slipped in to your junk/spam folder or you may have missed this.
Once again, we apologise for the postponement and that you have missed all emails and messages sent, however we hope you may consider returning int he future.

I attended two events
I attended two events. Luckily I had the same host twice who was very chatty and made everyone feel at ease. She made it feel like a night out and had a very good vibe. The host was called Leah and it was lost and found Birmingham.

Pleasant enough but quite unprofessional
Had a couple of pleasant (ish) evenings using SlowDating, but eventually found them to be far too difficult to contact. Unfortunately, just before my 3rd booking I contracted Covid and simply asked if my booking could be transferred to another date. I fully accepted that I was outside the cancellation deadline, but the courtesy of a reply would have been better than total radio silence. Also, the venue used in my area is cramped and noisy and really not ideal for chatting. Gave it a go but I will not be booking again.

If I could give the event less than 1 star I would. Host nice and friendly but the event itself was a joke. Poorly organised and not worth the money.

First time speed dating.
I went to their event in Newcastle, it was the first time I have been speed dating. I have a learning disability and a visual impairment, so they let my support worker come to the event to sit at the bar. I was very nervous as it was my first time speed dating and I didn’t know what to expect. My nerves went and I had a great time and met some lovely people. The only small negative I would say is that the venue wasn’t idea because I find stairs hard, but I managed still. The host too could of not been more helpful, professional and helpful. If I’m not successful I would attend one of their events near me with no hesitation. Thank you again for all your help and making me feel so comfortable.

Absolute disaster
Absolute disaster. Had bad experiences each and every time I’ve been. Will never do it again as it’s been similar result each time.
This time was the worst of all, had a “speed dater” assisting the host which seemed odd given that he’s meant to be participating not leading or assisting.
Crap turnout being left alone at tables most of the night. Just avoid slow dating at all costs. Despite the bad showing they won’t issue a refund

As we stated in our email to you we cannot control if a dater takes it upon themselves to check the venue for attendees whilst our host is checking daters in.
We also confirmed that we had enough daters to provide a great event prior and as we stated as we are sure you can understand, we are unable to control if we have ‘No Shows’ at an event, as disappointing as we know this can be for daters.
We can see that you used our service in it's entirety including using the system after the event to enter your 'Yes' and 'No's' to indicate who you would like to see again.
We have issued you with a voucher to try again, however if you still wish not to use this, we can only but wish you lots of luck in the future on your dating journey!

Shocking people
Maybe the actual events, ( If they ever take place) would be worth going to, however I should have read review about this diabolical company. The event in question was cancelled 2 hours prior to start time and I was informed I would be refunded. This was 16 days ago and guess what, yes I have not received any refund. I have been in touch again since then and got some cock and bull story about eventbright having trouble giving refunds. Luckily I booked with my credit card so will start a payment dispute for the refund. This company is doing this all over the country and will be holding hundreds of thousands of people’s money. It is nothing short of a scam, stay clear of them as they don’t deserve to be in business. They are the lowest kind of people who pray on the lonely and vulnerable.

Another Last Minute Cancellation!
Here's my experience with SlowDating in a nutshell.
On the 4th January, they rescheduled a date in Leicester from the 25th January to the 24th, the day before. I had to take time off work in order to accommodate the new date as no refund option was available.
On the 23rd January, they then postponed this event entirely with 24 hours' notice.
I then rebooked for an event on the 12th February. They then cancelled this event with a mere 10 hours' notice.
Consequently, I rebooked for the Nottingham event due to take place on 29th February - as you can see from the company's reply to my previous review - alas, as sure as Cyprus will give Greece Douze Points at Eurovision, this has been cancelled with 24 hours' notice.
Even if I rebooked again, even Stevie Wonder can see what is going to happen.
Therefore, I have demanded a full refund of the price I paid for my original booking.

As we stated in our email to you yesterday, we are really sorry that you have been unlucky with previous events. We understand that it is frustrating when we have to cancel an event, however please understand that we only do this if the event will be too imbalanced to run successfully.
As per our Terms and Conditions:
(e) Each of our events are based on a minimum number of attendees and we reserve the right to cancel an event if such numbers are not reached. You will then be transferred to the next available event in your area within your age range or offered a voucher for a future event to be used within six months of the cancelled event date.. If we cancel an event, you will be informed of the cancellation by email and SMS using the contact details that you provide when you book an event.
We can confirm that we run multiple events in different cities every week and cancellations are rare however you have unfortunately been very unlucky which we apologise for! As we are sure you can understand, our guest lists change every day, hourly in some cases, due to new bookings and cancellations therefore the earliest we can notify our daters is 24 hours.
As we stated yesterday, we have now processed your refund and this should be with you in 5 - 10 working days.
We really hope you decide to give our events another chance as we would love to redeem ourselves and help you find love!

Interesting experience
It was a fun evening, interesting group of people. I found the event far too small for my taste, made it far too intimate and more awkward. I would have liked more people and perhaps more space between the tables, we were shoved up one end. 5 stars however for Emily; she was a great host and put me and my friends at ease as soon as we walked in.

Good way to meet people on your own
I’ve been to a few events by slow dating in the Nottingham area. It is dependent who turns up but that can’t be helped by them. One event there was a lot more men, another far more women. It’s a nice evening even if you don’t meet any one to date, I’ve gone alone to all the events and made friends with the other women there at them all and had memorable nights. Really good way to meet people for friendships and maybe more.

am not allowed to talk to her and she said to me and I got 😡 and this need something got to done about it and other women unkind to me and when I try to talk to them and they blank me out and talking behind my back and that was nasty and I will never coming back to Basingstoke again

I really enjoyed the experience of meeting 15 ladies in one night! and found everyone involved was very friendly. The host was organized and explained the event clearly before it started. Thoroughly enjoyable and much better than the distance and disappointment of online dating.

Wasting money
Wasting money, you can find better girls outside.
Upon arrival at the event, I noticed a disparity in the number of attendees, with 11 ladies and 13 gentlemen, while their advert ladies' tickets were fully booked and tickets were only available for men. This numerical imbalance immediately signaled to me that not all participants would have an
equal opportunity to engage meaningfully, as at least two gentlemen would be without partners.
Furthermore, I found a significant mismatch in terms of age and personal preferences. The majority of the female participants were in their mid-40s or older, which is
notably older than my age group. Additionally, there was a noticeable difference in physical fitness levels, which further compounded my feeling of being out of place.

As we stated in our emails to yourself, we can confirm that this event was booked out and we find it frustrating too when we experience ‘No-Shows’, however as we are sure you can understand, is a problem that is completely out of our control, especially when daters have confirmed their space as they had done before your event.
As per our previous email to you we confirmed that all individuals were within the age range as per our records and we would like to refer to our Terms and Conditions:
(b) We aim to give single people a chance to meet one another in a safe and relaxed environment. However, we are not a matchmaking service and do not verify the personal details of those participating in our events.
(e) If you are more than 2 years over/under the age range for a specific event then we would advise you to choose a more suitable event for your age. Please respect that other guests attending the events will be expecting to meet people within the specified age range. If you do book an event where you are more than 2 years older than the specified range, we will offer you to move to a more suitable age group at no additional cost. You will not be offered a refund, so please choose carefully.
We are sorry you feel the event was not as advertised, we can confirm that everyone had a chance to meet each other throughout the evening and no one was left without a date for long.
We can also see that since you stayed for the entire event, you have entered your choices post-event, including ticking ‘yes’ to some of the attendees, indicating that you did meet ladies that you would like to see again!

Best doner kebab
Well, I’m lost for words. A friend of mine convinced me to go to the speed dating event in Sheffield this evening, at the Revolution Bar. Registration was to start at 7:15 PM. Being a ‘first timer’ at any dating event, and being a tad nervous, I turned up at 7:25PM and got myself a drink. There was no one there, other than two elderly ladies! £43 for this? I checked my phone and realised it was the bar upstairs. You can imagine my relief! I went upstairs at 7:45 and saw a young lady with a piece of paper in her hands, she was hosting the event. She told me that there were supposed to be 13 guys and 13 girls attending, but unfortunately at 7:45 they were only nine of each (including me and the two elderly ladies from the bar downstairs). The event was advertised as age group 40 to 58, but I was the youngest by far and I’m 58. I’m surprised my grandad wasn’t there, had he not passed away in 1989. It took a lot of nerve and courage for me turn up tonight, so you can imagine my, and potentially your, disappointment at the distinct lack of 40-58 year olds, as advertised
At 7:43 I went down to the bar downstairs waiting to see if any of the four remaining ladies, could possibly be the lady of my dreams, but sadly not, no one else turned up. I left at 7:50 feeling really misled and disappointed. I spent 23 pounds to attend the event and 20 pounds for Uber. It was a very amateurish set up and a total waste of time and money. The only good thing to come out the evening was a Doner Kebab shop opposite The Revolution, called Pasan. Excellent kebab and excellent service from a very nice Turkish gentleman. He even gave me a free can of Coke. Whilst I don’t drink fizzy drinks, it made me think what little ‘Slow/Speed dating’ had to offer? Nothing, just 17 people mismatched people, who wasted their time and hard-earned money in the search for love. The organizers don’t care if we find a friend. It’s a purely commercial enterprise, taking advantage of people searching for happiness. Checking people’s age before accepting their money would be a good start. It is total misrepresentation and zero value for money. In fact, the evening cost me £57 (£23 entrance fee, £20 Uber, £5.95 for a glass of Sauvignon plus the delicious Doner at £7.95). Guess which one was the most enjoyable and value for money? Save your money. Next time you see a nice lady or man that you’re attracted to, buy them a drink and smile. It will have saved you money, and made you happy at the same time.
