You're better off burying your money in a hole in your backyard. At least then you could still dig it up after a few years. At StartEngine, you're likely to outright lose your 'investment' or wait years for a return. Seriously, your bank is a better place for your cash and they only pay 0.25%.

Updating this review after being locked out of my account for a few months do to losing my phone to the river, which had my 2 factor authenticator on it. The process to get my account back easy. The time that it took customer service to respond since my original email months ago was inexcusable. I get companies are like people, they get busy and stuff slips through the cracks, but it still shouldn’t happen. I’m going to leave my prior review as-is with an addendum to reference this review, but will also increase its star rating from 1 to 4 to give the average as a 3.5 as 4 i feel is to high and 3 is to low.

StartEngine does a great job by offering webinars presentations with the CEOs of companies that are seeking investors and encourage investors to ask all questions during the webinars.

It was an easy transaction to purchase. Looking forward to investing into new start up companies.

New to this platform and so far so good. It's easy to navigate and find businesses that I'M interested to invest in. One definitely needs to do their homework and only invest what you can afford to lose. Cheers to more fun and innovative companies to come!

If you are making a basic investment, the system is very good. If you have any problem, it is difficult to connect with Customer Support. There is NO phone that is answered or way to connect with a person. The only phone number is a message referring to the web site. Customer support does get around to answering requests, but after a lag in time. And if you want to use an IRA expect a lot of difficulties to overcome.

Easy to do. Sure seem like they get companies that will pan out

Opportunity well defined. Process easy. Markup while substantial probably conventional. Trust level highest. I’ve made dozens of investments on StartEngine and have regretted none. Highly recommended.

Their website claims that the transaction failed when my bank shows they took the money out of my account $412.97. Please refund me my money now.

As a non-accredited investor I find both the platform itself (web site and app) and the investment opportunities very appealing.

In addition I experienced StartEngine's customer support as very competent and friendly, as well as quick and easy.

StartEngine makes it easy to invest in high quality private companies before they IPO. StartEngine also has a secondary trading market for certain of these investments. I highly recommend StartEngine to those seeking to invest via crowdfunding.

Great App and An interesting experience and Emerging and professional ideas

I had some how opened 3 account and needed to get to the correct account. The tech figured out I had 3 accounts and deleted 2 that I didn't want. Got my pass word straighten out and account access now easy. It took a couple of days but it was my bad. They were reponsive and accurate.

I've tried at least a dozen times to be validated by uploading my DL. Failed every time. No response from "help" other than a generated reply that said it was received. No URL found page for phone number or other "help" page.
Over $2000 has been charged to my credit card though! Where it is, I don't know.
Sure seems like a scam to me.

A good way for companies to raise money easily and a good way for investors to lose money easily. Easy to invest, but then a lot of the companies offer no updates and yet continue to raise more funds. I bought SE stock 3 years ago for around $1.25 per share (accounting for split) and now it's ‘trading’ at .24/share even though revenue is like 10x what it was. Why? Because they keep offering more stock to raise more money to grow more. If the companies just keep offering lots more stock and then don’t grow efficiently, all of the stock gain from revenue increase just gets diluted out. A good idea, but they need better governance around the companies.

From my very first exposure to StartEngine, I was impressed. For a 71 year-old, retired, “non-techy” lawyer, the whole process from start to finish was intuitive, logical, and clear. There was never a hint of frustration with the process, and in today’s online world that is saying a lot.

Great experience for the long term, I’m looking to diversify and expand so this is a part of my journey.

Invested I three companies over a year ago. I have received no updates from any of the three companies I have emailed all three companies multiple times and have never received even an acknowledgment. All the companies could be complete fakes. I would definitely not invest through StartEngine again. They take your money and then you will never hear from them again.

They replied to this and told me to reach out to StartEngine directly but left no way to contact them. I have tried to contact Start me gone to no avail.

PS. They will send you updates continuously until you close and then you will hear nothing.
