Had my Stiltz lift for a few years now and whilst I can still do stairs there are times I don't feel like taking the risk. Also my partner has serious mobility issues and without the lift would be confined to the ground floor. An added bonus is that the lift can (and does!) move heavy suitcases, packages that need to be upstairs, even laundry baskets that are too awkward to carry down the steps. Why indeed not get a Stiltz!

How did we manaage without our Stilz lift? We can fetch and carry things to the next floor without worrying about what it will do to our legs or our balance.

We build an extension to accommodate a lift for my disabled husband. I liked the simple design but Stiltz would not give details to our architect for them to work to unless a deposit was paid so we duly paid.
They had two years to prepare for the installation yet I had to push to just get a date and it was not the week after the last engineer inspection as promised.
They were unwilling to communicate sensibly with our builders and despite structural engineer drawings and e-mail exchanges stating that the customer cannot accept anything but a full size lift they progressed without communicating with me nor the builders that they intended to install a cut down size lift. My husband is unable to stand up in a cut down size lift yet Stiltz washes their hands of the issue-completely dismissive of having any part in disastrous outcome. It does not take much imagination how we felt when the contracted installers told us that it was a cut down size lift.
The unhappy experience didnât stop there:
Engineer 1 forgot to inform our builders of the correct level of the floor so it had to be dug up and relayed.
Engineer 2 requested the socket to be placed on the wall behind the lift but that is incorrect for this model so the cable catches on the lift when in use! They even suggested to move the socket with a cover plate of the cable junction before rerouting of cable was agreed.
Engineer 3 did not spot the incorrect position of the socket, was non-communicative and evasive to answering any questions asked as to timing of the lift installation.
Considering Stiltz had a blank canvas to start from, how could they give so much wrong information?
Delivery of the lift was completely unplanned: No communication at all, just turning up on an unannounced day at 7:30 expecting to be able to drop off the entire lift with installation items. The reviews indicate that this is not unusual for Stiltz.
The contractors installing the lift arrived sometime after 10 am so installation in one day was not to be achieved and they had to return on a Saturday to complete the job. The contractors did not bring carpet protection so our newly fitted carpet now has a black foot print stain. What type of lift installers do not expect to use the stairs in the house and yet could not show the curtesy to protect the floors? They also managed to knock the corner paint of the new extension. One wonders what the contract between Stiltz and the installers look like!
And on it goes:
The covering panels of the pillars did not fit and so needed replacing; two bases and tops were delivered and so one pair was just left at our property. 10 weeks later we are still waiting for the surplus items to be collected. A pile rubbish consisting of all the packaging was left in the driveway after the installation with no arrangements to have this collected.
Contacting customer services to bring to their attention my concerns and discontent was a bruising experience. At one point I had to ask the employee not to shout at me, that repeating the same sentences does not change the matter and that is does not make it any more acceptable to me just because it is repeated and shouted down the telephone. They still categorically refuse to accept that the visiting engineers/technicians should communicate with the buyer when they are planning to install a different product to what has been ordered. The main reason for that is you never actually sign an order and no height is stated on the invoice so you canât take them to court for breach of contract. Smart on their part. Only their internal paperwork shows what size lift will be installed.
As a GP in Surrey I frequently visit patients when mobility becomes difficult and I cannot imagine what it must be like for them to deal with this company when things do not go Stiltzâs way. The majority of people installing a lift in their home do so because of need more so than wish. Frequently this group of people have more needs than just mobility and they are frequently vulnerable in many aspects which does not seem to be understood by Stiltz: No communication on delivery-who will be on site to help? No covers on stairs/floors: who is going to put down covers? A pile of rubbish left in the drive way: Who can remove that? A base and a top left in the house for weeks: Who can live with and physically get around that or lift out of the way? And if you complain you get a dose of shouting down the phone.
Customer services initial promise of compensation in way of a yearâs free service and reduced final payment has since been withdrawn. Apparently, I was too slow in agreeing to settle the issues but how can I when I still have their items on my property?

My mum recently had a lift installed. From initial discussion with Luke, straight through to install with Ian, Zach & Davie, Stilz have been fantastic. Their combined knowledge, experience and general customer service was exemplary. The whole process was easy and faultless. We couldnât recommend them more. If you are considering proactive planning for the future or in need of a lift for medical purposes, I wouldnât go past Stilz.

I moved into a house with an existing Stiltz lift belonging to the previous owners who planned for removal and a re install in their new home. NO communication what so ever from Stiltz as to when or what time you were coming and how long the process would take ( thankfully the previous owners emailed to say you were coming on a particular date ) really poor customer service.
Having said that Terrry the fitter and the electrician and removal lads were friendly fast and efficient
Terry particularly spent time explaining what would happen, placing protective plastic on all my floors
Did a really tidy job even making moulding to replace the original Victorian cornice.
Friendly chatty tidy job
He was an absolute superstar
And a credit to Stiltz
100% made up for the lack of communication
Would definitely recommend Stiltz lifts to anyone requiring a through floor lift

My husband had a stroke in August this year and after some research we decided to install a lift in our house rather than look for a single floored building as we love our home and itâs position
We chose Stiltz as they seemed to be the market leaders and now the lift is installed we are so pleased we did! Very professional and efficient they were so helpful answering any questions and supplying us with updates on the progress of the works. Especial praise must go to the surveyor, carpenters, electrician, plumber and of course the lift installers who were to a man wonderful craftsmen!
All in all a good experience and although the cost may seem high, compared with selling/buying another dwelling with all that entails we think it is very worth it as it hopefully keeps us in our home for the foreseeable future

ᅩ These people have bombarded me with phone calls 15 or 20. Iâve informed them that I was interested in a lift .But there sales tactics are so bad that there is no way I would ever buy a lift from them. they keep telling me that Iâve expressed an interest online which as far as Iâm aware I havenât done but I wonder if thereâs something going on with the background .ᅩᅩI just wish theyâd leave me alone. .

My Stiltz Duo Lift is my best friend and sits proudly in my hall.
The installation took the team of totally professional fitters only four days to complete. There were no hitches dispite a number of central heating pipes having to be rerouted. I can't praise the team highly enough. They kept the noise and dust (the latter being my greatest concern) to an absolute minimum.
The 'very elegant looking' Duo lift has completely transformed my life making it possible for me to be transported painlessly, up to the first floor.
Well done Stiltz and many thanks for making it posible for me to continue to live in the house I love.

All team members arrived on time, they carefully parked in the street with due consideration for the other residents. After introducing themselves to us the lead engineer explained what they were going to do and the boundaries, space required to carry out job safely. A very professional and friendly group who were respectful and considerate to our privacy throughout the day. I would like to suggest that they are an asset to your company.

A couple of hiccups early on but installation went well and it is working very well, and were are glad we had it installed and can stay in our house rather than moving to a bungalow or flat.
very discreet soon blends in.

We were considering the various ways for us as well over 80 for some time. We eventually decided on Stiltz and have no second thoughts whatsoever.
As attractive their stair lifts are mechanically, the service could not have been better. We asked if they could install in time for my wife's return from an operation - and they did. We have not one regret, and recommend without reservation.

Misrepresentations: Stiltz advertises: "Installation in One Day!" Not true - more like 4-8 weeks. Stiltz states the average cost is $25k - $29k - not true - even for a small unit. Closer to $40,000 due to undisclosed fees.
When their salesman arrived at my house, it was obvious that he could not measure properly. He wasn't sure the unit would fit in two areas, but he wanted to sell us the unit anyway. He said, "If you want exact measurements, you'll have to pay $350 for a contractor to measure the specs." Meanwhile, he was busy measuring both areas, but could not trust his own measurements.
Two weeks later, a second - more experienced - salesman said there was absolutely no problem with one of the designated areas for installation. He couldn't understand why the first salesman couldn't measure properly. It turns out, the unit could fit perfectly in one spot that the first salesman dismissed.
Next, I received a quote for $35,500 that included a supposed $1500 discount and the waiving of a $500 fee for shipping from their wharehouse. However, after reading their "letter of intent" (which was not a proper legal document), I asked about the unknown "contractor's fee." They wanted a deposit with my signature on a "letter of intent" BEFORE disclosing the contractor's fee. When I asked about this unknown cost, they said the contractor's charge would be $300 - just to come to my home. Then, there would be a charge of $1,800 for framing and installing the upper exit door, and an unknown charge for removing a small piece of decorative drywall. This amount could have been thousands of dollars.
Also, the customer must pay for a licensed electrician (approx. $1,500) to install the required power line. Finally, there's a yearly maintenance fee ranging from $570 - $800 depending on where you live. Check out their short warranty that only covers 1 - 2 years. After this, all repair costs for parts and labor come out of your pocket.
The salesman told me the contractor would be at my home after 2pm (at no charge) on a certain day. I waited (3) hours, but he didn't arrive. I received an email of apology from the salesman and spoke to the contractor. He promised to arrive on a Saturday at 1pm sharp. At 1:45pm he was a no-show, and when I called him, he sounded surprised to hear from me. He had no excuse, he simply said, "I was tied-up." He said the same thing the first time he didn't arrive when promised.
I asked him why he didn't call to say he'd be late, and he said "I'm a contractor, what do you expect?" My response was, "common courtesy." In my view, being stood-up twice was unacceptable. To make matters worse, he told the second salesman that HE REACHED OUT TO ME, but I wanted to cancel. Now I knew I was dealing with ameateurs who don't tell the truth. Same with the first salesman.
Meanwhile, this "contractor" was supposed to be the leader of the team that was going to install my unit. When I advised the salesman that the contractor didn't keep the appointment again, he profusely apologized and agreed that working with Stiltz would not be a good decision for me. I agreed - especially after the misrepresentations, hidden fees, immature nonsensense, untruths, and irresponsibilty. I was delighted to sever ties with Stilz.

I originally left an excellent review (5*) when our Duo+ hybrid lift was installed. Since the after sales and support has been virtually non-existent.
We took out an extended warranty over 10 years and the lift has failed us twice so far, each for the same thing (hitting the ceiling)! and requiring an engineers visit.
I've paid for an annual service but there's nothing pro-active on the part of Stiltz with me having to make an effort to get it booked in and no reminders from Stiltz that I'm due for a service.
Their customer support team don't seem to know what they're doing and fail to answer questions I have or return phone calls when they said they would.
I've very disappointed with their after sales service.

Why would to to tell me not to be honest?
I do hope you will consider these questions and revert to me as I am a very satisfied customer
