I recently bought a pair of Austrian/German military Alpine Mountain boots that arrived on time.The boots are in excellent condition & I am very pleased with them.These types of boots are made to last.They were extremely well packaged & the whole buying experience was very good.I certainly would buy from Surplus and Outdoors again.

Avoid Like the plague!

Bought a tunic and was delivered with the completely wrong sizes than what was listed. This item could not fit any reasonable person after it had been tailored.
I requested an exchange to another size, the seller agreed to do so on return of the tunic. I successfully did so.

I was then completely ignored via email, upon ringing them, i was stated that since it was returned in more than 7 days of the purchase, they cant do anything. They have functionally stolen my money and did provided a shoddy item. I hope to have more luck via paypal

Edit: if you wanted more proof of the their customer service please see their reply. This was not to wear for an event, this jacket was to modify for personal use. It was to be a project that would become a statement piece. I have been fat shamed, insulted, and lied about.

I purchased the item on the 29/8/25, it arrived on the 5/9/25, and i returned it on the 8/9/25. so it wasn't kept or worn for over a month. it was worn exactly once, to try on, and then repackaged. This company needs a serious lesson in customer service

and despite their claims, they have already issued me a full refund, lies on lies on lies

Grade 1 immersion suit in great condition

Initially I received a mask with a filter on the side that I didn't want it on, so I sent it back and asked if it was possible for an exchange. Swiftly got exchanged to one with the filter on the right side! Good quality with fast tracked shipping, will purchase again from this store. (p.s thank you for the customer support worker who helped with this).

First of all the online listings of the items available were clear and concise. Any items or sizes that were not in stock or available in each size were clearly marked too. The montage of photos and grade of garment were clear and accurate as were the conversion of uk sizing to NATO sizes. My order was acknowledged promptly and delivery method and tracking immediately provided too. I ordered a pair of MTP Warm weather trousers PCS British Army Combat Issue plus An MTP multicam PCS Smock Mk 2… both Super Grade and a cordura webbing belt. All arrived within 2 days, well packed and tracked. Perfectly as described too. Very happy and will be back for a pair of warmer trousers once the temperature drops toward the end of autumn.

Boots I received were shoddy, the retailer on seeing photos I sent acknowledged that they should never have been sent. Have been provided with very prompt refund.
So important that we have smaller retailers for diversity and genuine customer service.

Ordered modular British army sleep system, one piece was new and the other in Grade 1 condition. Surplus & Outdoors shipped them really fast and they arrived in great condition, well packed.
Even better, the Grade 1 bag looks - to me - indistinguishable from a new item.

Used RN work trousers exactly as described by seller. Securely packaged, promptly posted (Royal Mail - arrived safely & on time). Can recommend Surplus and Outdoors.

Late review. Ordered used desert DPM jacket 180/112, received brand new jacket 190/112 which was unfortunately way too big. Unable to supply the correct size Surplus and outdoors quickly refunded all costs including return postage.
We all get it wrong sometimes, its how we redress the situation that counts. Many thanks.

I placed my order on a Sunday. The delivery address needed to be changed, so I immediately emailed the company through their website. I received an email back the same day, saying the address had been changed.

Received issue MTP plastic buckle belt promptly. Brand new and still in primary packaging. Slightly more than I wanted to pay but my actual need overrode that. Would recommend and likely to use again.

Just to say how helpful Sur & Outdoors were when I rang to check sizing on a pair of Austrian boots. And how good the boots actually are grade 1, but could be new comfortable straight off. So thanks & would definitely buy from you again.
