I would not recommend this solicitors was very unproffessional i only did a simple will costing £480 but there was to many errors the errors being overcharged and instead of refunding me they took the money out again which caused me to be charged by my bank,there was a delay of the draft being sent and phone calls not being returned.I have not left my will with them incase they loose it.It was a terrible service.Do Not Use them.

Totally unprofessional. I have had to report Sydney Mitchell (in particular Tracy Creed and Hayley Caprani-Walker) to the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Press and Media are showing a keen interest in the years information and evidence regarding the situation with Sydney Mitchell and other authorities. My Legal representatives have advised me to wait.

Sadly my father died January 2025 so we used this firm of solicitors really wish we never did
There incompetent way of working is unbelievable they lied to us on several occasions.
They are always on annual leave.
Never get to meet them in person.
Don’t answer emails.
Don’t return calls.
They are terrible wish we never used the it’s legalised fraud 1£15500 pounds later and 14 months later we finally got our money back.
As said stay well away they are an absolute joke not happy.

I was given their number by National Debt Line, with whom I spoke for over an hour. I sent an in-depth explanation about the issue (which is urgent) and requires help with applying for a county court judgment to be set aside and a Breathing Space application. All of this was submitted to the solicitor via email. That was on Feb 3rd. I am yet to receive a reply or a phone call.

Sound guidance & advice from a man who seems determined to take the minimum amount of money from me, which came as a pleasant surprise, tbh.

As a mortgage adviser I have worked with Marta and her team on numerous occasions and I can wholeheartedly recommend them to any of my clients or other customers looking for a great conveyancing team. They are very reliable, efficient and communicative and I have never experienced any issues when Marta and her team have dealt with clients.

Sadly, after relatives passed away they were marked as joint executors along with me. I won't go into the details too far so I'll keep it short & factual. At the very beginning I compiled a complete list of all the assets of the deceased and contacted all the financial institutions for relevant forms to be sent. I had been Power of Attorney for several years so I knew where everything was down to the very last penny. I placed the relevant newspaper notices. I did a lot of the initial ground work and passed it all over to the offices in Solihull. Thus began around 28 months of regular chase phone calls and email chasers. Mislaid documents, long delays in papers being processed and frankly a great deal of stress for me and the rest of the family I was representing. I understand that probate is always an issue, but after that was eventually applied for it made little difference to the way things progressed. So from the very start in July 2021 we have finally received papers in November 2023 telling us they are in a position to close their files. This, a relatively simple estate of a house (which sold quickly) a bank account, and a few savings investments and a lady leaving the entirety to four nieces / nephews (who are equally dissatisfied) . I regret the fact that we had to use them, and will never do so again.

I have used Sydney Mitchell for buying and selling my houluse as well as getting new wills. They have been fantastic, great service from people who genuinely care about their clients. I will always recommend them to my friends and family

We brought our home 2 years ago and used Sydney Mitchell as our solicitors. Caroline at the sheldon branch.
I can’t say if this is the entire company but this particular branch was a nightmare from start to finish. We required a fast turn around so to start with gave Caroline the benefit of the doubt as I know these things take time, but when the chain is relying on us and we can’t even get a call back it’s embarrassing. Carolines secretary must of been extremely frustrated with me, calling every day to try and get hold of her.
2 years since the move and we are renewing our mortgage and my new solicitors have found I should of been paying chancel insurance. So this has either been missed or we already paid this.. wouldn’t know, as been trying to get a call back for 16 days now.

Not a good experience at all. I know we have been restricted during 2020 however Marta who dealt with our house sale was not a good communicator. She very rarely called me back when asked to do so . After 4 long months we finally thought we were moving. She told me to book my removals then the day later told me the chain wasn’t ready to exchange. Then the day before the completion date had been agreed we hadn’t exchanged. Again at 11am she told me the chain was ready to exchange but at 4pm after not hearing from her all day she told me that she couldn ’t get hold of the sellers solicitor. I had to take matters into my own hand and contact the seller to ask him to contact his solicitor. I told her if she had informed me earlier I could have communicated with the seller myself. Finally after I got involved the exchange happened. The day of completion although the banks received their money I had to chase mine and it was several thousand pounds not a small amount . It took a further 24 hours to get my money. I have moved house 8 times and I have never experienced such a stressful move where the solicitor is concerned. So many other things went wrong but most of all bad communication. I can’t just blame the solicitors the bank was just as awful.

What an excellent and professional company. I had to hire a solicitor for a confidential matter and required a speedy turnaround. The solicitor who worked with me was efficient, professional and a joy to work with. They were in touch straight away, and by the following business day everything I needed was resolved. I will definitely use this company again in future and, based on my experience, recommend them highly.
