I cannot thank my solicitors enough for all the help and support they’ve given me throughout the process of buying my first home. They have made the whole experience so much easier and less stressful.

They have always been quick to answer my calls and emails, complete my documents efficiently, and keep everything moving forward. They are always organised, on top of everything and ready.

They have been amazing from start to finish. I’m so grateful for all their hard work and couldn’t have asked for a better team to help me with the purchase of my first home.

This is regarding Talbots Law Waterfront, Brierley Hill.
Loathed to give even one star.
Where to start?

The original person, handling the conveyancing of our family home of 65 years, who was responsive, polite and helpful, was removed after 2 weeks of receiving our instruction. No coherent reason was given as to why.

The subsequent conveyancer was inept, unresponsive and incredibly vague in her replies when my questions were eventually answered.

I knew that selling via an LPA and me living in France, this house sale was going to be slightly more involved than normal, however I didn't expect the lack of service, advice and communication from Svetlana and Samuel would be so poor.

I asked how and by who the LPA should be witnessed. I eventually received a reply to my question and was asked to provide the witnessed LPA as outlined by Svetlana, who was now handling our conveyancing. This I did exactly as requested but was informed it wasn't correct. This happened a further 2 times with her saying the LPA wasn't correct even though it was supplied as she had advised!! Infuriating and very stressful to say the least.

I had instructed Talbot Law at the start of May and by the start of August I was still struggling to have the LPA witnessed correctly as their instructions changed each time I supplied the witnessed LPA.
It was as if they didn't want this conveyancing work.

There were other issues with their service and lack of professionalism that I could explain here but it makes me angry just to think about them so I won't go on.

Due to this poor and unprofessional service, causing much stress to my elderly mother and members of the family I stopped using Talbots Law (mid conveyancing) and found another more professional conveyancer.

Needless to say, the house sale went through 4 weeks later without any problems.

Seriously think carefully who you use for conveyancing and I would suggest NOT to use Talbots Law.

From start to finish the service from our representative was below poor. Not once in 20 weeks were we ever able to speak to our representative. She was on another call or away from her desk. At no point was there and advice given that was proactive and not at the 11th hour. We were made to feel that we were dealing with the other side. Examples can be given if required.

Tori was very responsive and answered phone calls and emails promptly in relation to our conveyancing. We managed to achieve the exchange and completion of contracts in around 8 weeks. Thank you to Tori and her team - it all went smoothly once the process got started.
