Dropped in for a coffee on New years day. The owner came over and greeted and me and had a chat. What nice guy and a nice place

We went for a meal at midday -the venue is very dated but ok .The service was fair but some staff where coughing so possibly working with a cold ! The food was awful - poor quality foods not fresh products Food was warm and tasteless .My friend left most of her meal i ate half before giving up. The price was also high for what is was ( processed veg out of tins & pies bought in bulk ...we suspect ) .We decided to cut our losses and did not complain just want ever return or recommend to anyone .

It is my Husbands Birthday today so thought I would treat him to Breakfast which he said was very nice.Unfortunately I had Chicken Kiev with Chips and Vegetables.Chips were tasteless vegetables cold and Kiev also not so nice seemed to be out of a pkt.Had a cup of tea and asked for an extra teabag to put in the teapot and charged me.Disgusting!Don't think I will go there again!

This family restaurant is firmly stuck in the past. Their menu is old tired and boring, aimed firmly at the senior citizen. However their ice cream desserts are amazing. Either update and modernise their menu or stick to what they do best ice cream sundaes and knickerbocker glory's attract a younger clientele as well.
