I recently used Top Removals for my move out of the UK, and the entire experience was exceptional. The company handled every aspect of the move with great care, delivering everything they promised.

My move coordinator, Pete, was incredibly knowledgeable and offered advice throughout the process that proved invaluable. They managed everything, including customs documentation, ensuring a smooth transition. While I waited for the documents to be processed and to finalise my import in Switzerland, they kindly stored my goods free of charge, for which I am very grateful.

From start to finish, the service was professional, reliable, and seamless. I would highly recommend Top Removals to anyone looking for a stress-free international move.

The council had chosen this company to store my furniture.
When my furniture was delivered i had missing items and all my furniture was covered in damp and become mouldy.

I am very disappointed with the service I received. I have used this company several times before and had been happy, but this time the experience was stressful and poorly handled.

I first requested a quote on 23/08/25. It took 5 days to receive the removals quote and 8 days for the cleaning quote, both only after I chased. The removals quote included dismantling and reassembly, which I didn’t require as everything was already taken apart. When I asked for this to be removed, the price stayed the same. At that point I requested the reassembly be kept in, since we were paying for it anyway, but even this small change took another day to process—and the revised quote came back with the wrong date.

Every reply seemed to take at least a full working day, even for the smallest corrections, so I had to keep chasing by phone. The delays meant the date I had originally requested was suddenly no longer available, despite being reassured at the start that availability was good. At no point was I warned this could happen.

When I raised this, I was told I should have accepted the quote and paid the deposit, but I couldn’t as the information was wrong or incomplete. The poor communication and lack of urgency left us in a very stressful, last-minute situation with no arrangements in place for a move involving elderly parents and a heavily pregnant sister.

In the end, I had to book another company at short notice, who provided the service without issue and at a lower cost. Unfortunately, after this experience, I can no longer recommend this company and will not be using them again.

Thank you for your reply, though I feel it does not fully reflect what actually happened.

I was a returning customer who had used your services before and been satisfied, which is why I approached you again. To me, even requesting a quote is the start of using your service — and I had every intention of booking with you until the poor communication made it impossible.

While you state you responded on Tuesday 26 August, this only happened after I chased up my request. On 28 August, your email specifically stated there was “very good availability” for the date I requested. At no point was I told that the date could be given to someone else while we were finalising corrections to the quote. Only later was I informed it was no longer available, which directly contradicted the reassurances I had been given.

I did not expect an “on-demand” service — only timely, clear communication and accurate information so I could make an informed decision. What I would have appreciated is some acknowledgment of the poor communication and at least an apology. Unfortunately, your response here instead highlights the very poor customer service I experienced throughout.

I invite you to review our written communication, which clearly shows where things went wrong, and I hope you will use this to improve your service for future customers.

We had an extremely poor experience with this company. When bringing our 40-year-old sofa into the house from storage, they did not wrap or protect it, and it was ripped against our door knocker despite us asking them to remove the knocker first.
They then broke our hallway light fitting, leaving exposed wires that caused sparks from our fuse box. As a result, none of the lights in our house are now working.
One of the movers became visibly frustrated during the job. He left partway through, went outside, and returned speaking very aggressively. His behaviour was intimidating and upsetting for my children.
While trying to move the sofa downstairs, they snapped our bannister off the wall, dented the plaster, and abandoned the sofa halfway down the stairs. Without explaining, they left the house and drove off, leaving the job completely unfinished.
Overall, the team took no safety precautions, caused significant damage to both our furniture and our home, and handled the situation in a highly unprofessional manner.
I cannot recommend this company based on our experience.

We have agreed on amount of collection. On the day of collection a staff came with a small van, and after trying to contact the management (and nobody responded), so I decided to leave half of my furniture behind(dispose). On the arrival the rest of my furnituret was damaged, even the quality of my furniture is very high and not so easy to do so. The company management was rude and refused to help to deal with it accordingly.

Terrible Customer Service and Damaged Goods - Avoid at All Costs

AVOID THIS STORAGE COMPANY - These guys are a bunch of amateurs, offering £50 worth of compensation.

I stored my furniture with them for 3 years, paying over £10,000 in fees, only to discover systematic moisture damage across multiple items when I finally moved into my new home.

What Happened:
- Television: Internal liquid damage and screen deterioration - completely unusable
- Dining table: Moisture infiltration beneath glass surface
- Bed headboard: Broken and damaged
- Missing assembly hardware for all furniture items

Their Response:
Offered a insulting £50 "gesture of goodwill" for thousands of pounds worth of damage, then spent months making excuses:
- First blamed "depreciation"
- Then claimed "late notification" (despite their 7-day requirement being unenforceable for wrapped goods)
- Tried to blame the transport company (damage was clearly from years of poor storage conditions)
- Even attempted to blame MY garage storage after collection (despite photographic evidence of proper storage)

The Reality:
The damage shows clear signs of long-term moisture/mould problems - exactly what you'd expect from inadequate storage conditions over 3 years. Multiple unrelated items showing identical damage patterns proves this was a facility-wide environmental control failure.

Key Issues:
- Poor storage conditions causing systematic damage
- Refusal to accept responsibility
- Constant excuse-making and blame-shifting
- Derisory compensation offers (£50 vs £10,000+ paid in fees)
- Aggressive responses when challenged with evidence
- Claims facility is "purpose-built" yet allows widespread moisture damage

Warning to Others:
If you value your belongings, find another storage company. They clearly don't maintain proper environmental controls and when things go wrong, they'll exhaust every excuse possible rather than compensate fairly. The disparity between their high fees and minimal accountability is shocking.

Legal Action:
Currently pursuing this through Scottish courts due to their unreasonable stance. Will update this review with the outcome.

1. No "two man & van companies" - Items were transported directly from your London facility to Glasgow in a single 7-8 hour journey, with full photographic documentation.

2. No interim storage - Items went straight into our purpose-built double garage upon arrival. Your claim of "three months outside garage" is completely false.

3. Systematic damage pattern - Multiple unrelated items (TV, dining table, headboard) show identical moisture/mould damage impossible to occur during transport but consistent with years of poor storage conditions.

4. Your own contradiction - You claim your facility is "dry, cool, temperature-controlled" yet systematic moisture damage occurred across multiple items during three years under your care.

5. Missing hardware - All assembly nuts, bolts, and cables disappeared during your storage period, not transport.

The evidence speaks for itself: Moisture infiltration, mould formation, and internal liquid damage in electronics doesn't happen in 7 hours of transport - it develops over years of inadequate environmental control.

Legal threats for honest reviews? Rather concerning approach to customer feedback.

The facts remain: £10,000+ paid, systematic damage from poor storage conditions, constant excuse-making, and derisory compensation offers.

My goods were picked up from my residence in February 2023 to be shipped to the US, unexpectedly I became seriously ill upon my arrival in the US, which caused a domino effect of problems.

I reached out to my contact Pete, to inquire if it was possible to put my belongings in storage, as everything was uncertain.

Pete was more than accomadating, in fact he not once complained the many times that I contacted him with a change of plans, he was always gracious.

My belongings were kept in storage for 2 years, I recently received my good in the US, not one item was missing, and not one item was destroyed, wet or molded, I was so surprised, none of my clothing even smelled musty, proof that my goods were secured and taken care of as if they were their belongings or their loved ones belongings.

I highly recommend Top Removal, I will be forever grateful to them, they went above and beyond to assist me.

Top Removals did an excellent job with my move. The guys were hardworking, careful and cheerful. It was a tricky move, as the date kept changing, but Mega in the office was extremely helpful.

They are brilliant, looked after is and my bed bound disabled mother in law. Four flights of stairs was no trouble, we were a bit behind and the patiently organised themselves and worked with us, they listened to everything we said and checked everything they were doing was ok, i will be using them again if and when i move because i could not imagine any better service. Today was the second time I had the pleasure to do a moving with this company. Georgi Koctov and Andrew were absolutely fantastic! I met Georgi on my last moving and was again very impressed by his professionalism and kindness. Andrew was also very helpful and equally nice but I have Georgi as a man I can really trust to help me, specially when my hip or shoulder need to go a bit slower...
