I would like to send a big THANK YOU to Paul x Farid at UNCLE Elephant & Castle. There have been and continue to be a number of issues in the building and they are the people who keep the boat floating and tenants loyal despite the problems and yet they hardly get any credit for it. They are really the people to make it happen. So thank you guys for making “Fawlty towers” a home. I hope you realise what a difference you make.
Thank you also to Kevin, Eugene and some other members from the uncle team and office old and new. And some brilliant tenants of course!

Had the best experience at Uncle (Manchester)!!
Amazing location. The facilities inside the building such as co working space, gym, art studio, yoga room are great. The apartments can be a bit small but they are well equipped and super clean. If anything breaks or you need any assistance, the staff is amazing and the problem is resolved quickly. No worries in terms of parcels and deliveries, the staff will take it for you during work hours and will store it safely.
Uncle is pet friendly, which during research of locations to live that were pet friendly, some said they were except when we called them they said they actually weren’t. So Uncle was definitely a huge plus on that.
I think what made a huge difference was the staff, everyone super friendly, super welcoming, willing to help. Big thanks to Andrew for managing so well, always super friendly, super helpful, can’t say enough really.

Exceptional Team at Uncle Manchester
Uncle Manchester was our first rental in Manchester, and despite the popularity for spaces in and around the city, the team made it as easy as possible to apply and secure the apartment. The building is historic but the inside when we moved in was excellent- totally clean, furnished with tables, chairs, beds, microwave etc.
The building was really good for having so many features, they have a coworking space, gym, yoga studio, communal area. They will even sign for and receive post for you, all of the services Amazon, DPD, Yodel etc know what to do so you won't miss a delivery.
I have to be honest and say the pricing is a little high, but I can understand why, as it's a great city centre location and there are several full time staff for reception and maintenance. Outdoor parking is reasonable for £60 per month, but the extra monthly charge for pets does sting a little! This is offset by the lack of alternative pet friendly options, so overall it's a great option if you need to live in the centre.
The main plus for us was the staff- I have to give a special mention to Andrew the building manager, and Irene, Chon and Amanda on reception as it's so pleasant to have someone to have a quick chat with, either about something in the building or just for a catch up. Any queries or issues we had were resolved quickly, and it really made us feel safe and secure knowing the team are on hand for anything you need.
We can't speak highly enough about the team and will truly miss them as we leave the city centre.
ELEPHANT & CASTLE - Incompetent, Uncaring Staff
I have written a review previously but deleted it, as I thought I would give UNCLE a chance to fix some of the problems. On the 26th April, I met with the Vice President of the UK Portfolio. We had a comprehensive discussion about the problems with living here. Since then, nothing has improved and my concerns have not been addressed.
- UNCLE refuse to communicate with residents about when their windows are cleaned. They give us a window of time, but will not tell you which day the windows on your side of the building are cleaned.
Our windows were cleaned today (23rd May) but their only email communication was sent on 10th May. Imagine going 13 days not knowing whether or not you can open the curtains, windows or balcony doors. Today, I was very startled to discover people descending past my balcony. Luckily I was fully clothed!
UNCLE will have a response for this, as they are master deflectors of blame. They claim that due to weather conditions etc. they cannot specify which side of the building would be cleaned. I do not understand why, in the time it takes the cleaners to get up to the 45th floor, secure themselves in the crane and then descend, the UNCLE staff cannot write a simple email to people on this side of the building.
- It took 3 weeks for our dishwasher to be repaired. According to the initial engineer visit, the part required was easily sourced. It took 3 weeks solely because of the UNCLE staff's inability to communicate effectively.
I received an email, during working hours, stating that if I responded by 3pm that afternoon, we would be guaranteed a timeslot the next day. I am a working professional who does not check their personal emails during the work day.
When I spoke to UNCLE about this and said they should have called my phone, they claimed to not have my phone number on file. This is simply not true, as I get texts from the concierge all the time saying parcels have arrived.
Again, UNCLE had an excuse (always deflecting blame). They claim Concierge manage that themselves, but at no point in my 4 years here have I ever given my phone number to the concierge. It was clearly already on UNCLE's system somewhere.
In my line of work, if I discover that someone's phone number is either not on the system or incorrect, I would prioritise getting that contact number asap. UNCLE made no effort to do this. I had to follow up myself and share my number with them.
- The dishwasher was eventually repaired (3 weeks later), however, it was placed incorrectly back in its space and now sticks out. The door does not close properly. It needs to be slammed. UNCLE are aware of this and have still not returned to fix it.
- Lots of rumours circulating around the building that the building manager has left and that we have a new one. The VP also told me that our current building manager was leaving. However, this has not been communicated to residents. I asked the VP if this could happen almost a month ago. It still has not.
- We have no idea who anyone is, as staff do not wear identification or uniforms. I suggested a 'Who's Who' display, but this has not been actioned either. UNCLE claim to be friendly and helpful, but how can you have a relationship with them if you don't even know who you're talking to?
- Residents were told to be mindful of neighbours and not make play music on balconies after 10pm. Considering the balconies are not soundproof, why would you tell people that they can play music at any time on their balcony?
- When we moved here, residents were told 'no dogs'. Sometime later, 'small dogs' were allowed. There are many large dogs in the building. Owners show little to no consideration for the fact that some people do not like or are allergic.
There have been countless issues. We have stayed this long as we really like the area and the building itself is quite beautiful. Shame about the incompetent, uncaring and unsympathetic staff.

Crisma & all the team members at UNCLE Southall are lovely. They’ve been very helpful & kind from viewings, lease signing and moving into the flat. The flat is great, amenities are superb and great location too with various connections across London. Highly recommend! ✨

Amazing Uncle Wembley!
The community feel at Uncle Wembley is just one of many attributes that makes it stand out - if we didn’t have to leave London, would have stayed here for years longer.
Well maintained building, with a fully stocked gym. Friendly and helpful staff, Easy access to all Wembley train stations, with bus stations literally by the door.
Thanks to Kelly, Nicole, Jamie and the rest of the team. They make this place tick and make you feel at home.
It does feel like home
After living outside of the UK, I dreaded coming to London, let alone renting a flat. Then I stumbled on Uncle, booked a visit; and met the team. Ruth, the building manager, gave me the warmest welcome I could wish for. Duncan is super stoic but nice, while Paul always has a way to cheer you up. There you will never feel alone, and it does feel like home ;).

Uncle Stockwell is an amazing place to live in. It’s home away from home.
It has amazing facilities ranging from the appliances in the room to a well equipped gym with a range of equipments you can use for an effective workout. My favourite are the Peloton bikes 🙂.
The staff are very amazing and welcoming, they always attend to you promptly and cheerfully. Anytime I have sent an email for something to be addressed, it is done very quickly and efficiently. The team comprising of Ruth, Duncan, Paul and Shelly are very fantastic and effective.
On your way back from work after a very long and tiring day, won’t you like to be greeted with an amazing smile? Well that’s what you get when you come through the reception during working hours.
My experience in the last one year in this building has been awesome, and I will definitely recommend this building to anyone.

I've been an Uncle Resident for the past year and I have nothing but compliments for the Building and the Uncle Wembley Team.
Rent is affordable and the electricity and heating bill is surprisingly low because the fittings and lights are extremely energy efficient!
It's located conveniently next to two tube stations which gives you great routes to take regardless of your destination.
Their gym is well equipped and open 24/7 which is so convenient and ideal for residents. They do offer parking as well which is affordable and safe which isn't common in London!
The concierge and reception is probably the best part of the building! They take care of all the packages and send an email as well when they receive something. They're super accommodating and even helped me surprise my flatmate for his birthday! The team is great and super helpful hence why we've decided to renew our contract! We hope to stay here for a while!

Not reviewing if the place is worth the premium price they ask for as that's more a personal view but for sure Ruth, Duncan and Paul are willing to go the extra mile for the current tenants always with a smile on their face and sorting out promptly all the daily ordinary issues that might come up. So, that human connection is not that common when renting a place
Renting as it should be
I been renting at UNCLE wembley for past 1 year and I had only good experiences.
UNCLE wembley is located in the High street and under 5 minutes walk from the tube station, a huge park and a school.
They have a set of cheerful and very helpful concierge team who manages the reception and takes in resident's deliveries. The residents are notified by email when their is a delivery so no need to worry about missing deliveries when you are not around.
The management team goes above and beyond to resolve any complaints. I had few issues with kitchen cabinets and they where resolved on the next day itself. The team is very responsive and prompt to respond to emails which is a great relief because I know if something goes wrong the team is their for support.
The flat is well build and maintained and it is worth for the rent they ask for. One main point to note is the utility bill which is surprisingly less (my heating bill per month was just 70 GBP and electric around 80 GBP). There is a gym and resident lounge and roof top which is again well maintained and clean.
I highly recommend UNCLE wembley for renting because they really live up to their tag line "Renting as it should be".

We live in Uncle Stockwell for about 3 years, and we couldn’t be happier. The building is incredible. Close to all the facilities and have a beautiful park right in front. Super safe area too. The Staff is absolutely fantastic, Ruth, Duncan, Paul and Shelly are always helpful in anything we need. They make us feel like home everyday :)

Great experience at living in the UNCLE…
I have been living in the UNCLE apartments at Colindale and the experience has been no less than great.
Starting from booking the viewing to completion of the documentation to moving in, everything was very smooth and well prepared.
People at Uncle's team, be it the front dest who facilitate the viewing/documentation/moving in or the property managers or the maintenance/repairs are quick and very helpful. More importantly cheerful.
Overall a very good experience.

I have been staying at UNCLE for over 3 months now and I think it is an excellent flat. The metro station is within a 2 minute walk, which makes my life very convenient. Also, the light and the view from the rooms are very good. Every staff member in the flat was very welcoming, patient with a smile for every question and very efficient in dealing with problems. Especially Tom and Ian, were very helpful Enthusiastic when I had a problem! I think UNCLE has given me a great living experience!

UNCLE Colindale
We are living in an apartment with Uncle Colindale and it has been amazing! The flat and building are modern and have a good atmosphere! The staff members are all very friendly, helpful and always with a smile on their face! They really try to bring their best to us!
The maintenance service is awesome! Tom sent Ian in a light-speed manner. Ian came to our flat, took off his shoes before entering our apartment (to avoid soiling the floor), he fixed our bathroom door and in the end he cleaned “his” rubbish (he refused to accept that we clean - “it’s my rubbish, I clean”). Such a kind person and an excellent job done!!! We highly trust Ian to maintain our home as the best place to live!
