Thank you for your message. We understand your concerns and want to assure you that USCCA takes accessibility and disability-related matters seriously.
Our standard cancellation process—outlined in the membership agreement—requires a phone call to verify the identity of the account holder and protect sensitive member information. However, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), we are happy to offer a reasonable accommodation for members who are unable to call due to a disability.
We reviewed your previous email communications, including the most recent message dated May 9, 2024. At that time, your emails expressed a desire to cancel but did not mention a disability or any issue preventing phone communication. As such, your request followed our standard process and did not trigger additional review or escalation.
If you are unable to call due to a disability, please reply to confirm this, and we will work with you to verify your identity through email. To proceed with secure verification, please provide any two of the following pieces of information:
- Member ID
- Phone number on file
- Mailing address on file
- Last four digits of the card used for billing
Additionally, we see that a chargeback dispute was initiated with your credit card provider on April 21, 2025. In accordance with our policy, we are unable to issue a refund while a dispute is in progress, to avoid any duplicate refund scenarios. Once the dispute is resolved, we will be happy to review the account further as needed.
We appreciate your understanding and are here to assist in resolving this matter appropriately.

Pete, we want to clarify that the USCCA does not assign public defenders to represent members. As a USCCA member, you have the freedom to choose your own attorney, including from our extensive Attorney Network. In some cases, members have opted to work with a public defender by personal choice, believing they were the best fit for their situation.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, Eugene. We are sorry to hear about the challenges you experienced with your instructor status and membership. Please know we value your contributions as a member and instructor, and we’d like to address your concerns.

The requirement to teach 20 or more students each year to maintain active instructor status is outlined in the Instructor Code of Conduct, which you signed in 2022 when you became certified. Additionally, this requirement is covered in the training materials, including the PowerPoint presentation provided by the Training Counselor during the certification course.

As instructors play a key role in upholding the high standards of the USCCA program, it’s their responsibility to meet or exceed these expectations as agreed upon in the Code of Conduct. We understand that losing your status can be disappointing and upsetting, and we sincerely regret if this requirement wasn’t reinforced as clearly as it should have been.

We’re glad to hear that you found value in the resources and support offered during your time with us, and we’re sorry that this situation has led to your disappointment.
