I gave it one star because I had to rate it something. I am not a direct express card holder, I was calling for a coworker. I needed to speak with a live agent, which is simply not possible. First of all, they do not offer that as one of the options, if you’re lucky enough to figure out why they would send you to a live person you could get to one that way, otherwise, no go! Please do not say you have Customer Service. I’ve serviced customers for 43 years and pride myself on making sure the customer is happy and satisfied when the interaction is complete. I am not happy, nor satisfied at this moment, as the same issue I had prior to calling your agency still prevails.

Can I do less than 1? Honestly once you get a person it’s good but right now I have been ‘holding’ for 1 hour, 10 minutes. Based on my job( social services) I know the vast majority of direct express calls are elderly or disabled and they cannot deal with wait times like this. I am waiting on my mom’s behalf- no way she could do it. Higher staffing levels are needed to minimize the hold. This is not my first call- I have and had to hang up ( do have my own stuff to deal with) 47m, 38m, 27m. Got thru on one but was not paying attention to time- estimate 35m. DO BETTER.

I called twice first time I was on hold for 1 hr and 45 minutes only to be hung up on … I called back on hold for 2 hrs finally Brandon answers and acts like he can’t hear me and hung up on me . This is the 2nd time my money was stolen out of my account. Then they said it's gonna take 45 to 90 days to do an investigation. Then they don't even contact you back or nothing. It seems like they steal your last bit of money then try to manipulate you financially.

I am giving this card a single star only because there is no such thing as a 0 (zero) star! I am just trying to verify a new bank account to be able to transfer money out of this card. After several emails to the email address listed, there is NO response from them. I can't even get the option to talk to a human being if I call them. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST SERVICE (or the total lack of it). Disgusted with it.

Worst customer service ever. They froze my Fathers card for fraud and after 5 months we are still trying to get it unfrozen. They have sent him to the social security office for no reason at all since the funds are from the Va.

Very horrible people and nobody is doing nothing to change it. Customer service people hang up on you act like they helping and don’t. To settle something for your disabled child and they can care less make you wait 14 days when it’s their fault. Supervisors are even worst nobody is trained properly.
physical cards are being declined in stores
Sometime after Christmas (according to 1 CS at DE) Master Card started declining to allow card holders to use their physical cards. Found this out after my card was decline at my local grocery and Walmart. I can still use it online (maximum of 2 or 3 transactions then account is locked for 24 hours).
I opened a bank account, changed my direct deposit with SSA, immediately received my new debit card, then went about trying to transfer funds to my PayPal debit card to then transfer to my new bank.
There's an unknown limit on the amount to I did 3 small transfers, then was locked out. Tried again today and it only let me make 2 transfers. And, I was charged a fee. Grr!
called CS to complain and ask how I can access my funds. I had to email front/back of my state ID, routing/account numbers, copy of new debit, and account agreement sheet with the bank's info and my name/address to prove I have an account.
Was told it'll take a "few" days for someone to review it, then they have to approve allowing me to transfer funds. WTF
Their fraud detection gets set off if my phones ip doesn't match my location for online orders
They will randomly flag normal purchases as fraud and automatically send me a new card without telling me, if I order something on my phone and the ip doesn't match my physical location. Deactivating my card in the process.
This leaves me without my money for as much as two weeks while I wait for the replacement I didn't ask for. This happens once every 3-6 months.
Absolute garbage company
Absolute garbage company. I would use them unless I had to. Their customer service is extremely rude. They’ll talk over you, then hang up on you when they feel like it. STAY FAR AWAY. If you have a choice. I’ve sent in MANY complaints about this so called “bank” and to no avail.

If I could give this company less than one star I would. They are the worst...they allowed me to pay my bills, but that's it. Wouldn't let me do a cash advance at the bank, wouldn't let me withdrawal from the atm, wouldn't let me make purchases in store. They are completely useless...I'm in the process of going to direct deposit. I will never recommend this card to anyone

Do not use even SS said they do not recommend my card would not work so I sent for a new one charging 17 for expedited got card now they are asking to email birth certificate and SS card keep denying every time I call I get different answers they say I can't get my money until my id verification is approved but they keep denying it I even had SS scan and send I need a lawyer stop using this card
