Got two 20Ah power banks. Both failed in less than 100 cycles of use. Varta just isn't what it used to be.

Bought a varta battery from a company called Battery Group in UK my battery lasted 6 months then failed to charge they wouldn't warrant the 4 year warranty very very upset by their non commitment to help customers with issues. Won't buy Varta again

AA- und AAA-Batterien von Varta kaufte ich vor etwas über einem Jahr, da ich mit Varta überdurchschnittliche Qualität assoziierte. Das "Longlife" und "Best before 12-2030" weckte die Erwartung lagerfähige und auslaufsichere Batterien zu erhalten. Das komplette Gegenteil dieser Erwartungen trat ein. Es zeigte sich eine überdurchschnittlich miserable Qualität, welche ich so nicht mal bei den billigsten Discounter-Batterien jemals erlebte. In zwei Geräten liefen die Batterien aus wodurch diese an schwer zugänglichen Stellen verunreinigt/beschädigt wurden. Auch die trocken und abgeschlossen gelagerten Batterien liefen in der Verpackung aus. Eine gelagerte AA-Batterie spaltete sich sogar mittig! Dagegen sehen die Billig-Batterien vom Discounter mit dem Hinweis "Verwenden vor 08/2025" jetzt Ende 03/2026 immer noch aus wie neu.

Bis auf weiteres habe ich kein Vertrauen mehr in Varta.

Varta Batterien, kann ich nicht mehr empfehlen. Nun sind die sogar schon in der Original Verpackung geplatzt. Man gut das nicht weiteres passiert ist, hätte auch ein Hausband werden können, da diese in meinen Schreibtisch liegen.
Habe schon bei mehreren Artikeln gehabt das die Batterien in den Geräten geplatzt sind.
Habe den Kundenservice auch angeschrieben, aber da kommt keine Reaktion. Sehr schlechter Kundenservice !!!
Es waren auch meine aller letzten Batterien von dieser Marke. Passt bitte alle auf !!!

I bought a brand new Toyota Corolla in 2024. I tend to only drive at weekends these days (retired), so... One day we were leaving for a trip to France. Battery was dead! Had to call breakdown service, who got it going but we missed our boat and had to pay extra to get the next one. A few months later - battery dead - again. Breakdown guy checked battery health - recommended replacement. Asked Toyota - they said "It's dead because you don't drive it enough!" Well, I drove my diesel Honda the same amount for 14 years with no problems. This hybrid drains a lot of power when it's sat there - apparently. It later died a third time, so I got a trickle charger and a booster, in case'. Despite charging to full regularly, the car's 'low battery' warning light kept coming on - and it WAS low when checked with the charger.
This week, I charged it to full on Tuesday and on Wednesday received a new tester to check it. Checker said: REPLACE - 25% charge. Charged to full today (Thursday) and IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS checked with tester - REPLACE - 47% charge. Have ordered a new battery and will battle Toyota to cover the cost under warranty.

What a joke of a product.

So bad, need to recharge too often, whether it is the recharge accu 2100, or 2600. They do not last a few days in my keyboard ( I bought a new set last month)

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the Varta battery (model: F662 MF55559, blue C14) that I purchased on July 24, 2024. Unfortunately, the battery failed just two days after the one-year warranty period, on July 26, 2025.

When I visited the dealer, I was informed that the warranty had expired, as it only covers one year. I had expected a higher-quality product, given the premium price I paid, and I anticipated that the battery would last significantly longer than just over a year.

I regret to say that this experience has led me to reconsider my choice of purchasing Varta products in the future. Had I known the warranty and performance expectations, I would have opted for a more affordable brand instead.

I hope you take my feedback into consideration to improve your products and customer satisfaction.

Was talked into purchasing a really expensive Varta better for my Rove Ranger by staff at Battery World. What a mistake that has turned out to be. With the battery under 12 months old I parked my car up in the garage to go away on a long deserved holiday. When I returned the car would not start even with a jump, the battery was dead as a piece of concrete. Road side assistance mechanic told me that the battery was defective and to return for replacement as everything else on the car was in spec with manufacturers specifications. I took the battery down to Battery World Wantirna after calling first and as soon as I mentioned warranty I could tell there was going to be a problem . Anyway I was told that 6 weeks parked up would kill the battery!!yes 6 weeks,WOW. It was suggested to me in future to disconnect the battery if going away!!! I said and have no alarm on the car it was then suggested to put a solar panel on my dash and plug it into the port inside car, that would work fine if my garage didn't have a roof. I left battery there knowing full well that the warranty was there for the same reason we use Sorbent. Anyway later in the day I went back to pick up and was shown all these brochures in regards to bringing battery back under 12 volts, which I wasn't shown when purchasing and to be honest if I was shown them it probably wouldn't have stopped my purchase. When you go to supposed experts you put faith in them and don't expect problems so early in the peace. According to Specifications received from Auto Electricians and Land Rover Mechanics the drain on this Battery for sitting unused for 8 weeks should be 33% not completely dead.The vehicle has been checked by a reputable tradesperson and the drain on the battery is .06a per day which equates to 33% down not completely dead as the outlandish figures given by Battery World Wantirna. I. Conclusion personally I would stay right away from this brand of battery and definitely stay away from Battery World Wantirna.

I purchased 12 Varta rechargeable AA batteries (altogether with a charger) about two years ago. Have charged them about three times so far. Half of them no longer charge. Varta chargers are good whereas its AA batteries do not convince me at all.

Jeg købte et Varta bilbatteri, batteriet holdt under et år Varta plejer at være en standard kvalitet, dette batteri er noget juks måske laver de det i dag, af billigere materiale, hvem ved.
Købt hos Billigbilpleje Brørup, som var ligeglad med garantien, trods flere henvendelser, herefter klagede jeg til Varta 3 gangee, som end ikke gad svare. Det er jo trist når kriminelle metoder indfases i store firmaer.
Så kan man jo sagtens give garanti.
Jeg kørte til Biltema, efter lang tid med Varta Bøvl og købte et nyt kvalitets batteri, med 4 års garanti og det virker fantastisk, sikkert ny teknologi, kan stækt anbefales.

The new packaging on the hearing aids (purchased at Costco) is too difficult for senior citizens to open. They should seriously reconsider the design.

Varta type c long life my Harris lasted less time the gold and black rival do not waste your money these are rubbish

I installed Varta AAA in several remotes. They have corroded and oozed something out...rendering a couple of remotes useless. I think that Varta AAA are the worst batteries I have ever encountered and would advise people to not install them into anything they value.

I purchased a Varta battery with high hopes, given their reputation and the 5-year warranty. However, my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. After just 14 months, the battery began to fail, struggling to start my vehicle and eventually going completely dead. Despite having it checked by a mechanic and confirming that there’s no issue with the alternator or anything draining the battery, Varta's customer service was unhelpful and dismissive.

Their warranty seems to be more of a gimmick than a genuine commitment to quality. When I reached out for assistance, I was told that without proof of maintenance, my warranty could be voided. What a ridiculous policy! I’ve maintained the battery as instructed, yet I’m left feeling like I’m the one at fault for their product’s failure.

It's astonishing that a battery from a reputable brand could underperform to this extent, especially when a cheaper alternative lasted longer and performed better. Varta's customer service was frustrating to deal with, and I felt like I was talking to a brick wall rather than a company that values its customers.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend Varta batteries. Save your money and invest in a brand that stands by its products and treats customers with respect. My experience has been a complete letdown, and I wish I had gone with a different brand from the start.

I have used many Varta batteries over the years in various applications. I will never purchase them again. They have leaked in an ruined remote controls, toys, torches, clocks and other devices. They should be banned. Terrible quality. Spend your money with the better brands or your appliances/devices will be ruined.

Recently switched to using Varta batteries instead of the Duracell and Energizers that I usually buy.

I have found their Long Life Power to be excellent in the torches and Smart Radiator valves I use them for - and they are great value for money.

Additionally I had a query regarding what type would be best for the devices I use. They recommended the cheaper Long Life Power rather than the more expensive Long Life Max Power - which I found really impressive.

In this respect I would like to thank Sharon for her time in providing the information to me.

We purchased a new battery in January 24 which failed in Dec 24 (it lasted 11 months).
When I took it back to Battery World they advised me that they would need to get it checked from manufacturer. They have just advised me that it did not meet warranty conditions, yet they could not tell me why. Needless to say their warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on and I will never buy a Varta battery again. Given me a Marshall battery anyday.
