Worked for this sham company about 10 years ago as a credit controller. Was promised a very small percentage of money recovered as a bonus. Exceeded the recovery by about 10% only then to be told by there welsh finance director your not getting a bonus. Utter Sham of a Company you know who you are McMullen

replaced a failing old battery, The difference was amazing with this one, one happy customer.

Even back ten years ago when working at Halfords we were told that the new Yuasa range of Batteries were going to be much better than the junk Varta branded ones we had before. However, these Yuasa batteries were significantly worse, almost every single Yuasa battery we fitted was either dead on arrival or failed very quickly after being fitted (many of these were fresh from the supplier and were not old stock), almost none making past their first year. Since then I forgot about all that and foolishly bought a couple of new Yuasa batteries for both my cars last week and guess what? BOTH dead, tried to charge them but it one lost it's charge within a few seconds and other lasted three days before it died!!!
How on earth can a manufacturer and retailler carry on producing russish like this for so long!!! Even Lion batteries (cheapest of the cheap) lasted a couple of years!!!

The batteries show a 5 year warranty sticker.

But they are not interested after 12 months - their response herein

GS Yuasa offer a 12 months manufacturing warranty against manufacturing defects to our network of distributors. In turn, our distributors may offer additional warranty to their customer. This is done independently of GS Yuasa and as such any decision relating to warranty will lie solely with the battery seller.

They stamp 5 year warranty on their batteries - I have no idea how this is allowed

stupidly I purchased a new Yuasa battery for my Discovery td5 in 2023 from GSF after my old Yuasa battery died just out of warranty the new one started with a stated CCA of 1000 however in just two years its now got a CCA of under 400 and won't start the car. very poor quality batteries. don't waste your hard earned cash on these substandard batteries

Qualità della, batteria zero assoluto, dopo 3 giorni batteria a zero, ricarico la batteria, segna pieno carico, la mattina dopo accensione da miseria, contatto il venditore saf di Castelfranco veneto mi dice di portarla da lui, mi chiama e mi canta la barzelletta, la porto a casa, tengo staccato il negativo e dopo una settimana di nuovo giù quasi scarica, la riporto da lui sempre alla saf 2 di castelfranco veneto E fa scaricabile dicendo altre barzellette, 77 euro persi, ne prendo un altra perché lui la garanzia zero assoluto stessa solfa, e stavolta son andato dal meccanico di fiducia, la controlla e col test gli risulta batteria esausta, mi dice che se vado li di nuovo alla SAF 2 DI CASTELFRANCO mi ritroverò di nuo a capo, vado li e lui altre barzellette, mi ridà la batteria dentro la, confezione chiusa, controllo ed era senza un tappo!!!!!! Furbacchione per fare la scusa pronta, glielo dico del tappo e come cadendo dalle nuvole mi rimette il tappo e altro scaricabile, vado dal meccanico e mi istalla una al litio ultimo generazione, adesso dopi 2 mesi ferma provo col mantenitore e segna pieno carico, senza starter un secondo e gira a mille sebbene un virago del 92.....adesso dormo sereno perché della SAF 2 DI CASTELFRANCO DOPO AVERMI FREGATO 2 BATTERIE ANCORA IN GARANZIA MANCO LI VOGLIO PIÙ VEDERE, un mio amico idem con la batteria auto, 9 mesi ko e garanzia altre barzellette.... Chissà che trama ci fa quando acquista le batterie e poi fa lo gnorri con la garanzia, mai più. SAF 2 DI CASTELFRANCO VENETO. N. B.!!!!!

Absolutely garbage battery, new Yuasa battery fitted in January, now if vehicle is left for a few days battery is flat, surprise, surprise Yussa claim it is not covered by 5 year warranty, will be dumping tomorrow, don’t waste your money, buy a decent brand.

Junk, Junk, Junk. 2 x 12volt Yuasa batteries lead acid. Maximum 13 months and both died. Bought them to replace my Can Am quad Yuasas. They were over 12 years old and they were still going. Awesome. But I was going on a trip and decided to replace them. So decided to do a review, and what do you know. Get in line. No more Yuasas' for me!

Yuasa quality has fallen to bits. Original Yuasa battery on my 2013 Triumph lasted over 9 years. The latest one is defective after 3 years. Never again.

It was a worst battery ever..I have been in and out to garages to see what was the problem and in the end I have changed the battery..they offer me the company to have free replacement as it was still in warranty but I would never put that company to my car.

I bought a Yuasa HSB013/HSB027 Lead Acid 12V Car Battery from Southampton Halfords in March 2024, for 5 years guarantee. It was the most expensive one in this store but was the worst one I had. The battery could not last for one day in less than one year. The AA service engineer judged it a faulty one and advised me to return the store, but both Yuasa and Halfords refused the replacement and refund with no reason. Beware of the false guarantee and bad quality of this brand.

Bought my van with this battery . Today i had to drive a car from 200 miles back to my house , where the alternator died on it . I took this yuasa 80ah battery with me while i was there to collect the car , and the battery was able to power my car ( 2.3 petrol ) for 200 miles trip , until it completely died in front of my house . Absolutely astonishing performance from this brand . Got it home after 5 hours drive and the voltage was showing 11,05V where car finally died . Got no words to explain how this battery managed to bring me and my car home . 10 stars review from me and other friends who said i won't make even 40 miles on battery power . 200 MILES ON BATTERY POWER . 200

Bought the Yuasa battery just over a year from Halfords, and had to charge it on 12/11/24, out in the car 13/11/24 all good, parked up in the evening, now14/11/24 went out, flat not even letting me put my key into the ignition due to zero power again, alternator is fine , was checked, Yuasa battery is the issue, absolute rubbish.

Hsb019 purchased from Halfords with a ctek msx7 battery charger for £110. Battery has a 5 year guarantee, failed after 2 years despite being maintained by the ctek. I returned the battery to Halfords who said the voltage would have to be .1 of a volt!!!! to be considered for replacement. I've used yuasa batteries for 30+ years and never had a failure, first failure shows what they're guarantee is worth, so disappointed.

Both of my yuasa batteries, new (few months) and old (1+ year) failed at the same time, caused an absolute headache as I thought something else was wrong with my car just to discover the batteries dont hold charge...

Got this battery from halfords to replace the 6 year old original on my van which was beginning to fail on cold mornings. I got the Yuasa HSB096 as it was slightly larger then the previous battery, the logic being that it would be on top of its job and would handle cold starts better. After 18 months, during the summer months, the battery stopped holding charge and the van would either have difficulty starting, or not start in the mornings. I took the van to Halfords where their 'technician' stuck a diagnostic device on it then told me that the battery was fine, just needed charging, and any issue must be with the van alternator. I asked him if he could test the alternator, which he did, and assured me that it seemed fine also. So I trickle charged the battery over the next day as he suggested, but 2 days later the van wouldn't start again. As the van was due for service, I took it to a reputable service centre and asked then to check the electrical system for faults, but none were found, and the engineer told me that "there's nothing wrong with the van, but the battery is knackered mate". So, I took it back to Halfords, who again put their device on it and told me that the warranty only covered a faulty cell, and his device advised re-placement but did not show a cell being faulty. So my advice is, Don't buy from Halfords as they will not honour their advertised warranty on batteries, and avoid Yuasa batteries because they are total rubbish.

Have been buying these batteries for almost 20 years. The last two haven’t been great but the last one in particular lasted 2 years and 1 month. Premium prices for what is supposed to be a good battery. Rubbish literally.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS YUVASA 5000 CAR BATTERY TO ANYONE.
