I thoroughly enjoyed the event. It was a great opportunity to meet like-minded people within the property profession and to engage in conversations that were both professional and genuinely enjoyable. I appreciated being able to maintain a high standard of professionalism while still sharing a laugh with colleagues and peers. It was also fantastic to see familiar faces as well as new and up-and-coming professionals within Vickery Holman. Overall, the event was welcoming, well-organised, and a valuable experience. Rating: 1 star (but would give zero if possible)

This review relates solely to my experience with Mr Dennis Venn, and not to anyone else within his firm.

Mr Venn was recently appointed to carry out a boundary survey between my property and my neighbour’s. However, it quickly became apparent that he had engaged in private discussions with my neighbour and issued a report that was entirely one-sided. He disregarded his fundamental duty as an expert to remain impartial, and produced a report based exclusively on my neighbour’s version of events.

He made no attempt to speak to me or consider my position, and completely ignored relevant HM Land Registry maps and other official boundary documentation—of which there is ample and accessible evidence. Instead, he relied solely on unverified narratives and opinions from my neighbour, who appears to be personally connected to him.

At no stage did I instruct or engage Mr Venn, yet he copied me into an email stating that any questions about his report would cost an additional £1,000. I did not respond to this, yet he later sent another email falsely suggesting that I had raised questions, stating: “Dear [Neighbour] and Ms Evans, here are the answers to your questions…” I had not asked a single question and immediately replied to make this clear. His actions appeared to be an attempt to manufacture joint engagement, possibly to justify a fee split or cost claim for his friend, the neighbour —something I found deeply dishonest and unacceptable.

In my view, Mr Venn’s conduct demonstrated a lack of impartiality, professionalism, and integrity. He was prepared to issue a flawed, biased report that could have led to a serious injustice—causing an innocent party to lose land based on false and incomplete information.

I cannot recommend Mr Venn in any capacity. In my experience, he was neither objective nor trustworthy, and failed entirely in his professional obligations as an expert surveyor.

Hopeless. My staff and I travelled a long distance to view a property which, when we arrived, was a building site and not inhabitable - not would it have been for a long time. Not that the company representative was there to greet us as arranged - so what a waste of our time, expense, and frustration. Shambolic.

Helen Hollow at Vickery Holman Truro has helped us negotiate a rent review where the tenant's agent was rather challenging. Helen handled it extremely well and with considerable professionalism and we've ended up with a very positive outcome without it becoming contentious. We'd highly recommend Helen.

Helen recently worked on some rent renewals for us. The tenants were particularly tricky and the whole process involved constant liasing and resulted in a hugely positive outcome.
She is extremely knowledgeable and was able to liaise on our behalf to resolve all the issues that arose. She kept us updated on progress at all times during and was quick to answer any questions that arose. She is incredibly efficient and very experienced in this area of work, not to mention kind, calm and very patient. We really could not recommend her highly enough, we look forward to working with Helen again.

Friendly but efficient service resulted in prompt sale

Professional and efficient firm. Their surveyors implicitly understand how to navigate the 'obstacle course' that feature requirements of their client and the needs of the customer. Not cheap and cheerful which they are not. But large capital is at stake anyway and you will have the confidence that the job is being done properly.

Knowledgeable and friendly service, with options given over how to proceed. Felt like my best interests were the priority with advice given beyond the initial request.
