CBC Council tenant here. Wates are the contractors for my local council. 99% of the workers are absolutely shocking. They lie. They are rude. 1 week and 2 days my mains water has been pissing out. CBC and wates do not care. Spent hours on hold for them to run up £500 in lost water. Severe damp problems as a result of litters of water pouring put under the property. Neighbours either side are effected. One being owned with water travelling to her cellar. On day 9 they turned water off. Said Northants drainage were coming for new mains. Made me wait in for days on end with no one in sight. Lost all my wages. Pouring buckets of water down the toilet. I am disabled with x2 children under 6. Absolutely shocking as my council lie as much as there lol. Called Northants drainage today to be told council and wates haven't accepted the quote....so no one ever attended were they. I will be informing my solicitor

Absaloute crap this company flipping sh#*t show works are supposed to be done on the bathroom for well over a month the floor under the bath is rotting away yet you keep cancelling the job my children can't wash properly due to the bath may fall through the floor and now social services are involved cause this weekend my daughter had to go hospital and the paramedics saw the state of the property due to wates negligences so I will be sending social services your way I will also be in touch with trading standards cause this is not on I'm absaloutly disgusted

This company is run by unprofessional, unhelpful, unwilling to help and ignorant staff.
From the moment someone answers the telephone to the moment you finish your call it is rude ,unhelpful and unprofessional staff and reception staff .
No regards to professional conduct , the company operates on if a contractor does not visit or call in with in the appointment being given , and you have been waiting in three consecutive appointments , then the contractor turns up unannounced, without explanation of any sort .
They cancel the appointment whenever they like and they turn up whenever they like ,
Iâm not racist at all (I am of African origin) but the receptionists whoâs dealing with the residents operative calls are rude , Iâm not sure if I ever met very rude people more than herself .
If you can avoid them them then do so

Reported leaking toilet on Saturday evening plumber came out and had to shut the water supply off. I should have received a follow up call on Monday however this did not happen (as I expected) I rang Peabody on Tuesday morning who were disgusted that I was not offered an emergency toilet or a follow up call. Peabody rang WATES to chase up them Outcome some should be with me within 4hours I was told this at 10am, however WATES text said 8am-8pm so wasted my day waiting in. At 4.25 WATES say plumber is on the way two hours later still no plumber.
I ring WATES @8.25pm to be told ohh that was booked with the day team you now have to wait 4hours for the out of hours team 11.45pm plumber arries to shut off water that has been shut off since Saturday evening.. I have to tell him why he is here as he has no clue he should be leaving me with a bucket to piss in and not attending to shut the water off. Wasted a whole dam day for what⊠bearing in mind the leaking toilet originally started leaking the back end of December and was repaired a few days before it started leaking again. Ohh did I mention the toilet is still leaking although the water supply is off but out of hours canât actually repair a leak anyway.
I call WATES every week chasing up a list of jobs

Rubbish company
PA Housing Tennant.....made a call 8 days ago for a faulty toilet. Plumber came out, 10 mins later was told it was fixed. Next flush--noise and flush worse than before ! Oh yes ! Appointment was 8-1, had to phone at 1.05 to see what was going on. Finally turned up 1.45.
Yet another appointment, again 8-1... phoned at 1.05 to be told plumber is 10 mins away.... 40 mins later he rings to say he's 15 mins away....
Says he's fixed it... flush still sounds like a foghorn, low and behold toilet now leaks ! Rang the out of hours emergency number to be told, contain it yourself until the problem is solved. Someone will call within 24 hours ! Mean time, 4 towels later, still leaking !

WOW! Wates reviews 1.3! This is not surprising. They are contracted to Peabody Housing for repairs. I called them this morning being 6th in the queue and the guy hung up on me! Not a good start by any means.

Complete miscommunication, no managers overseeing jobs. Operatives have used my heating and smoked in my house firstly. Secondly The works are not complete despite being told my house would be ready to move back in to today. Had numerous issues with contractors leaving my front door unlocked whilst on site and also leaving holes in my walls and ceilings. Rewiring was done yet plug sockets hanging off walls. Monkeys could do a better job. Managers are rude and pass the buck. Will be suing due to making me be out of my house with mental health issues and no where to go. Bathroom is a completed however no bathroom floor has been placed, bath hasnt been sealed and bath panel left off. Holes all over my house like a rat has been eating away. Also Despite a car accident also this week due to being out of the house, wates are the reason for all issues. I want them to come back and fix it and once its been resolved ill be taking this complaint as far as possible. Ombudsman and housing association has been let know. Do not use wates. They should be called waste. When telling Graham the site manager about these reviews he said he was completely unaware at how poor his operatives are at their jobs. Now we have to wait another week before I can go home due to operatives not working every day, days missed equals jobs not being finished on time. DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WILL BE CONTINUING TO REVIEW POORLY UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE.

Terribly Incompetent â Avoid at All Costs
Wates Construction has been completely unable to resolve a simple leak, despite three separate visits. Getting in touch with them is a nightmare, and when you finally do, the phone calls are confusing and disorganized, with staff clearly not understanding which orders have been raised. Appointments are frequently cancelled or rescheduled at very short notice, which is extremely inconvenient. Overall, their service is unprofessional, unreliable, and incredibly frustrating. I would strongly advise staying far away if you want anything done properly.

if i could leave no stars i would.were do i start this company have been contracted by midland heart housing association to bring homes up to modern standard,well shame on you midland heart, from start to finish ive had a nightmare off experience, had my bathroom and kitchen ripped out on same day all in 3 hours the very rude workmen turned up at 15,30 when they was Meant to turn up at 8oclock in the morning none off them had id im down on midland heart housing association as a vulnerable Tenant , due to my mental health and physical health. i was left 4 weeks without use off a kitchen and bathroom .the foul language from the workers was really worrying. my windows were replaced and my blinds were damaged and Unplaceable and are going to cost me a lot off money, ive had too call management on a lot off occasions and The lies and promises they give you is so unprofessional, i could write a lot more off what ive had to put up with and im still got problems with the poor Workmanship. that needs putting right.im currently in the process off speaking to the housing omnibus man in regards to my ongoing issues,
