Company took my money 3 weeks before sign was dispatched, after I had emailed them to find out where it was. Sign duly arrived and it’s very good I’m pleased with it. Fixing quite easy. However the amount of plastic packaging is disgraceful, my sign was wrapped in 14 meters of non recyclable plastic, when it could have come in a cardboard box with paper or card protection. This must stop.
Added after reply: I did not see anything about being encouraged to return the packaging, which I have done. If it was clear how to return it I wouldn’t have complained about the quantity.

Slate signs arrived ok and are nice quality. Unfortunately, they arrived with no fixings or glue and multiple emails to them have gone unanswered and, weeks later, no fixings have ever been sent, despite their website saying that all orders include them. Have had to go out and buy my own - will be sending them the invoice but I'm not holding my breath to be reimbursed. So this company are fine unless something goes wrong - after that, you can forget about being able to get hold of them or getting the issue resolved.

I ordered a Welsh Slate house sign using their easy to use interactive web page for the design. From order to delivery was about three weeks, which was fine for a bespoke product. Really impressed with the quality, exactly as requested and very well packaged for transit. Thank-you.

Brilliant company. I contacted them about doing a new slate house sign for my mum for Christmas and they designed it and made sure I was happy with it. They even drilled screw holes for me! Mum loved it and is very happy with it. It arrived via post very well wrapped and exactly as it had been designed. Would definitely use this company again 😊

What can I say apart from "awesome" yet another beautiful item received from Shaun and his team, I have purchased quite a few items from this company and have never had a problem. Communication is clear and Shaun does his best to meet my requirements. I have no doubt at all that I will be using this company again.

Genuinely one of the most straightforward experiences I’ve ever had. Purchased a slate for Christmas and received it today and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Such a quick turnaround from purchase to delivery with amazing quality materials. There’s no need to look elsewhere when this company exists. You can tell they care about their work as I made an error when ordering, emailed to change it and they sorted it no problem for me and were super helpful. I highly recommend the service and will be ordering again. Amazing eye for detail - thank you so much.

We have just put up our sign following the very clear instructions and we are thrilled with it - the quality is excellent. I had cause to make a couple of queries to Shaun during the process and he always responded promptly and helpfully. The slate is beautiful.

We've used this company before and had no hesitation in using them again as the website is clear and simple to use and the ordering process straightforward. When we received our order it was fine and up to expectations. My only comment would be a lack of communication, otherwise very good and well priced.

Firstly, the website is so easy to use and displays exactly the sign you are ordering with every adjustment you make (sizes, layout, colours, lettering style etc) shown as you make them.
Secondly, just had my sign delivered.
Thirdly, it was on time, exactly as ordered, and top quality at an excellent price.
Fourth, communication with Shaun was excellent with him responding to my emails very quickly.
Lastly and overall, based on my above experience are a 1st rate company in every way and have no hesitation in recommending.

I would love to give this company 5 stars as the memorial plaque I ordered, when it turned up, is absolutely beautiful, of excellent quality and just what I wanted. However, my only issue with this company is the lack of accurate information. I had to chase several times to find out when the plaque was being delivered. It took 3 weeks from the date of order which would have been fine had I been told of the delay. I have no hesitation in recommending this company for its product. I really hope they can get their communications sorted. This feedback is intended to be constructive and to reassure buyers not to panic if they don't get routine updates.

Spent ages looking for a company to make my house sign and eventually Decided to go with Welsh Slate Signs as the website was easy to use and I needed the screw holes to be in a specific place....so after an email enquiring if this could be done, I was so impressed to get a lovely email form Shaun (and not a computer-generated response!). It was easy to place my order and my beautiful sign arrived a week or so later. Would use again and definitely recommend! Thank you Shaun and your team!

I bought 2 signs in mid July as a wedding present.With delivery promised within 7 days, or a call to explain any delay, I was confident this would be an easy transaction, the website was great, very professional. How wrong I was. I should have read the reviews here and elsewhere on the internet. Two weeks on and no word, endless calls to the number on the website are never answered and email replies sporadic. Eventually, got one sign more than 3 weeks after my initial order - routering was flawed, fixing holes not level.I got a promise the other sign would be delivered the following week " 24 hour delivery". A delivery was booked by the company but the tracking said "collection attempted, but failed". I emailed and said I would start a credit card dispute. the company replied " done my best ...start your dispute." So I did, miraculously my second sign was then sent arriving a day before the wedding.The second sign was better quality but both signs were lighter and half the depth of another Welsh slate sign I have bought in the past. I am taking them to the wedding, otherwise I would be arriving empty handed. I cancelled the credit card dispute as the timings meant there was no other option. Sadly, rather than a local cottage industry, I get the distinct impression that the company is "farming out`" the work. The whole experience and dealing with this company was unpleasant and stressful. BTW , the address for the company on his website is incomplete, and the phone was never, ever answered- two red flags.

Poor customer service. I have previously bought lovely house signs from them but the last one arrived damaged and with marks on (all be it natural but just didn't look right). Getting a refund was hard and no calls or emails were responded to. I had to claim via Paypal dispute, and eventually got my refund.

Shaun at Welsh Slate House Signs went above and beyond to make sure my order got to me following a hitch with the courier company. Received my order and really impressed with the quality of workmanship but more so in the good old fashioned customer service. Cannot recommend more highly. Fantastic !!!

Great website, great communication, great product.

I found the website really easy to use to choose the size and designs for both the number and house name signs I ordered. Less than 3 weeks later, the signs along with their fixings, were received, well packaged and in perfect condition. The quality and finish of the signs is excellent and I am delighted with the end result.
I emailed a couple of times and received quick responses both times so communication was also excellent. All-in-all a great service was received from Shaun and the team.

I was impressed with the website, and wanted to order my house sign locally. The sign arrived promptly but had splodges of white paint on the sides. No fixings or glue were supplied, but according the website, they were included. I contacted the company and was told the fixings were inside. Myself and a friend have double and triple checked the packaging , but sadly no fixings were included. Despite 3 emails, all of which have been ignored, I have a sign that is not fit for purpose! What a waste of £78.00! The sign does not meet my standards, or the standards portrayed on the website and the customer service is dreadful. No follow up about the fixings, no apology and no refund! Dreadful.

Ordered house sign back in March.
First of all confusion over delivery, courier delivered to wrong address.
After some deliberation, refund given and we re ordered.
This one delivered ok but sign has a small chip in the top of the sign! followed instructions given by Shaun and as we have no number on new build, put it up.
However putting vegetable oil on has not solved the problem, didn’t see how it would, a chip out of the slate, is a chipped slate.
He Did ask us to send it back for it to be re- polished but feared would break taking it back down, plus added cost of return.
So left with no other offer to sort this have a paid full price for a defect sign!

Sign was delivered 3 weeks later good communication.

The sign is excellent quality Welsh slate very well packaged.

I saw a sign made by Welsh Slate on a friend’s house and looked at their website. I was very impressed. Good choice of size and fonts and easy to understand. Very reasonable prices. Came in good time with excellent instructions. I’m thrilled with it!
