Impressed with very good website when choosing and ordering items but not with much else.

Sign arrived after 17 days following a Sunday order. Looks fine, some flaws in the wording paint work. With regards to the hidden wall attachments on the back, well there is absolutely no way this will work. Hopeless attachments, hopelessly shallow holes in which to attach pins, no glue supplied. Now need to look if we can drill holes and fix to wall with screws.

Not normally one to write reviews but Just received my house sign today and I must say I’m absolutely thrilled with it , it’s exactly what I wanted . Thank you welsh slate house signs .

I ordered a slate house sign with 24 carat gold lettering and must say it is beautifully made and looks great. It came very well packaged to ensure that it did not get damaged during transit.
I would have given 5 stars but where I am disappointed is that I ordered a sign with hidden fixings. But in that respect it did not conform to the advertised description:

"We provide secret fixings on all of our signs (unless holes are requested), where we sink into the back of the sign one or more threaded nylon pins which are held by a professional resin."

The nylon pins were not threaded being just plain parallel sides. The holes in the slate are very shallow and don't allow much pin penetration. And the pins were not set into any resin at all.They came loose packaged. Neither did the instructions give any details of the type of resin to use. Even with a good resin I am not confident that the plastic pins have sufficient penetration to provide a long term secure fixing. So I will be using additional "dobs" of resin or an instant grip outdoor adhesive. One of the other online suppliers of stone/metal house signs gives advice on suitable fixing adhesives. Being quite practical I do not anticipate any problems fixing the sign to the house brickwork, but Welshslatehousesigns should sort out the website so customers understand what will be supplied.

I placed an order in early December as a Christmas present. I allowed the stated 7 working days for delivery before chasing via email (clearly stating that the sign was for a Christmas present alongside acknowledging that they would be busy in the Christmas run up). I received swift email confirmation that goods would be delivered at the end of that week - which they weren’t. I chased again via email on the Monday (23rd Dec) only to be told in a curt one-liner that the product would be delivered after the Christmas break. Absolutely no apology nor explanation was given ....poor customer service doesn’t even come close!
On the positive side, my subsequent complaint email backed up with a PayPal request for a refund was addressed promptly - no issue there.

Excellent end producted, quick service and nice lads, defiantly recommending to my friends.

Really good quility slate my sign looks perfect better than I could imagin would highly recommend this company to anybody 👍👍

very easy site to use i was panicking because i ordered a bit late in november it was for a present but the person in the office promised i would receive my sign before xmas as they were extremely busy we received it on the 21st dec a bit of a wait but was well worth it the quality was superb and packed very well .would definately reccomend.

Firstly, the advertised price doesn’t include vat, that is added in PayPal. It doesn’t mention vat on the final price in the shopping cart, not a problem but a little unclear.
I placed my order on 3rd December 2019, they replied with a proof the following morning and I gave them the go ahead. So far so good.
10 days later I hadn’t received my sign so I politely emailed them to ask if it was going to be delivered in time for Xmas- no answer....
I then rang them, texted them and emailed them again but still no answer.
This left me with no other option but to raise a dispute with PayPal.
They responded two days later with a Hermes tracking number - no apology just the tracking number.
My sign arrived AFTER Xmas.
The quality of the product is good but their customer service is appalling. Their website is misleading, 3-5 days delivery??, their terms and conditions state they will notify you if they can’t deliver within 5 days. No vat on final shopping cart price, failed to answer any emails or phone calls. Have various company names.

After one month there was still no sign.

The telephone number would ring once then hang up. We made contact to them via email and eventually got a reply stating our sign would be dispatched that week.

Another couple weeks passed there was still no sign. We contacted PayPal and we got a refund.

I'm shocked how this company has any good reviews???

STAY CLEAR. There are plenty of other companies out there.

Wish I had read the reviews here before I ordered. My experience:
1. Ordered a sign. I did note that the website says that they would sink pins into the back of the sign held by a professional resin. Recieved an immediate confirmation email, and my credit card was debited that same day.
2. But no sign arrived. I tried calling the telephone number, which as others have said, is never aswered. Eventually received an email two weeks later saying the sign was deing despatched.
3. Arrived, wrapped in bubble wrap but no box. Sign looked OK, but just a single, very shallow indentation in the back, with a plastic pin included in the packet, not fixed to the sign. No resin included either.
4. To my mind, this was unfit for purpose and not as described. Again, telephone not answered and neither were my emails saying that I was rejecting the item.
5. I contacted Citizens Advice, who already had a record of this company, which meant thay they and Trading Standards had received previous complaints.
6. On their advice I sent a recorded delivery letter, again rejecting the item. I received an email a few days later from Shaun Palmer, the owner, saying he would give me a refund if I returned the sign. I wrote back asking for confirmation that he would also refund my return postage. Again, no reply until I sent another email a week later. He confimed that he would and specified which delivery company I should use for the return.
7. Item returned as he specified, but only the cost of the sign has been refunded, not the delivery charge - despite his email confirmation.

In summary, poor service, item not as described, dishonest company owner. Use at your own risk.

Do NOT use this company. There are plenty of other good house sign companies which are much more professional, I’m having to order mine again from another company. I ordered my slate almost 2 weeks ago now, and still have not received a confirmation of dispatch or delivery date. It says 3-5 working days, and they’re quick to send you the confirmation/proof of order email which goes to your spam file, I wasn’t told until I emailed customer service asking why I hadn’t received a proof email. This was over a week ago now. Since then I have not received any correspondence, I have sent multiple emails to Lucy at customer service, she has replied to one of them saying ‘yes very busy, will email when ready’ Ignoring half of the questions on my email to her. This is unbelievably unprofessional. Since that point I have sent a few more emails which no one has acknowledged, including a much angrier email yesterday which you would think calls someone’s attention. Yes I understand you’re busy, but I have no sympathy for not replying to emails- being the only available doctor on a and e the last week and you’ll see what busy is- I still reply to my emails at the end of the day. This is very unprofessional service, I will be taking this issue further as you have taken the money for this order and not even delivered on your part, and will regard this as a fraud.

Website seems good and got my sign just how I wanted it, then the experience suddenly goes sour.

VAT gets added on top of the purchase cost which I wasn't expecting and not something I've even had not included in the stated price.

No confirmation email

Tried to call for 3 days in a row (about confirmation) , the number isn't connected so they blatantly post a fake number on their website. Try calling before you think about ordering!

10 days later no delivery or response to my email.

Case opened with PayPal, what a waste of my time and it's not over yet!

A beautiful house sign for my adored sister for her Christmas gift. The confirmation of order had been consigned to my 'junk mail' so people might like to check there before griping that they've not received an email!! The quality is excellent, I'm delighted and I know my sister will be over the moon. Thank you so much Shaun, you were brilliant to deal with. Many thanks again. Barbara

Very pleased with the house sign, good quality item, packaged well, delivered within two weeks of placing the order. We drilled through the slate sign and fixed it with screws, it looks great.

The sign I received yesterday (in perfect condition due to careful packaging) is really lovely. The quality and workmanship are excellent. I would highly recommend.

Nice sign and are happy with it. However, delivery took ages, a lot longer than they stated. My dad had to chase this on a couple of occasions. Also when they send it the slate sign still doesn't come with everything you need which is a little cheeky in my opinion as you then have to go out and buy the products to actually hang the sign.

I ordered one sign but unbeknown to me there was a mistake drilling the holes with the first one so it was re-made. I only learned of this when both signs were sent to me, the second at no charge in hopes I could use it. I did find the perfect use for the second one but when I attempted to pay for it Shaun said no, fully accepting responsibility for the mistake. This is excellent service, rare indeed. The quality and appearance of both signs is beautiful, just what I'd hoped for. I highly recommend this company and their products.

We are very pleased with our sign and have used the fixings included to put it up and it hasn't fallen down yet (and it's been a few days). Although the phone number doesn't work, email responses are quick. I seem to remember the website gives the impression the item will be delivered quickly but I wasn't really expecting a hand-made bespoke sign to arrive within a week so was happy with the month's delivery time.
