Leanne was welcoming and well informed. She listened to our ideas and made suggestions which were very helpful. We didn't feel at all rushed.

Surveyor knew what I was wanting, helpful, thoughtful and professional.

We booked a bathroom design appointment with Wickes in Raleigh (not to be generalised with other Wickes departments or branches) slated for Saturday at 11:30am (booked in two hour durations). My wife realised that the appointment may be delayed by an ongoing carpet fit in the property. She then called the branch on Saturday morning and asked whether the appointment could be pushed back by 30 minutes. The staff promised to check and call back.
By 12:10pm after having seen nobody, we attempted several calls and later got a call back from a Jason Rhodes only to be told that he got to the property, noticed there was nowhere to park his vehicle and after being told by his team that the appointment had been cancelled by us (yeah, you read that right!), terminated and left.
They had our phone number and could have parked in our drive, if need be. There was no contact from the team regarding the situation or any possible future arrangements.
Most significantly, there was no iota of empathy shown. This is simply unacceptable service.

First survey consultant explained all expected works in detail, provided the brochure and booked for in store appointment for next 3D modeling viewing and to provide the quotation.

Stuart at the Rayleigh, Essex store was excellent. He was friendly, informative and helpful. He asked what we wanted ans gave us options and solutions to achieve the bathroom we wanted.

We met with the lovely Jason Rhodes in the Wickes, Rayleigh store — he was informative, extremely helpful, and immediately arranged a home visit to design our kitchen. He arrived promptly, was very professional, and took a great deal of time and care to make sure the design was 100% perfect.

Jason even went out of his way to organise a video consultation when we were both unwell and working to a tight deadline. His dedication and passion really stood out.

Great work, Jason! Wickes, Rayleigh are very lucky to have such an excellent employee — we only wish more companies had staff as caring and committed

Placed a order for 7 items, delivery by 3 different drivers from first estimated delivery being from 7-11 for the first 2 to arrive past estimated time frame for the last item to arrive gone 4pm which i chased at 2pm to be told its not been loaded yet, when it did arrive I had to ensure and debate with the driver to ensure the right wood was unloaded by me.

Hannah provided us with first class service. She listened, understood and was able to provide knowledge and advice for us to easily purchase all that we needed. Everything we needed was available for delivery on a day convenient to us too. Hannah is a credit to Wickes. Thank you.

Absolutely terrible NEVER use this company! 4 Weeks and still no working kitchen. Bodge job electric with no certificate and one plug directly under a leaking waste pipe that they installed. Leaky plumbing, terrible tiling and a £12k kitchen that looks worth about £2k. What an absolute waste of money and time. Mental health has been battered from 4 long weeks of hell.

Unfortunately I had asked a member of the kitchen team if they just supply there bespoke work tops and was told yes.
I booked a kitchen planning appointment for this and when I arrived they said they would only do bespoke worktops when ordering a kitchen.
I don’t need a kitchen.
The kitchen planner was sorry.

I'm thrilled with my bathroom and downstairs loo renovations. The experience with Wickes and the fitters has been incredibly positive.

Stuart Holloway at the Rayleigh branch was our design consultant. Fantastic! The design he came up with, the advice, suggestions and guidance proved to be invaluable. The changes to layout we would never have thought of. His care before the installation started, during and after has been second to none. A shout out to David, the manager, too. Such friendly and helpful people. Perfect.

Nehat Hasani and his son Naheed were our fitters. I feel so fortunate to have had Nehat fit our bathroom and loo. From the moment I met Nehat for the pre-fit survey, I absolutely knew it was going to be a great experience and it turned out to be be just that. Nothing is too much trouble and I had complete confidence throughout the installation. The quality of their work is top notch. Communication throughout the installation was excellent. As a result of Nehat's advice changes were made for the better. We are 100% happy with the end result. I will have no hesitation in asking Nehat to do other work in the future.

I was also impressed with Moyra and colleagues at the Customer Experience Centre. They managed all aspects of delivery and support throughout the project. They were proactive when the wall panels didn't arrive on time to resolve the issue.

I bought most of my bathroom fixtures and fittings from Wickes with the exception of the wall cabinet and Mira shower. I am happy with the quality of the furniture and sanitary ware plus its backed by guarantees. Price was pretty reasonable albeit a bit more expensive on some items. Its worth googling to compare prices.

This has been an overwhelmingly positive experience.

I was having difficulty in finding some Loft leg lamps and Elliot happened to walk by so I stopped him and he was most helpful going away to the office to establish exactly where they were. He then showed me to the shelf a took down the lamps that I needed. Saved me a great deal of time as I would never had found them on my own. Excellent service from Elliot.

Emma is a beautiful little soul, who always goes out of her way to assist me however she can. I've become quite a regularly in the store and she has taken a keen interest in my project and always smiles and asks how it's getting on. She makes shopping in Wickes a personable experience. Don't change for anyone :)

We are very happy with the appointment we had with Albin. Very professional, polite and helpful person with tons of great ideas and knowledge.

Went into Rayleigh branch to buy a sink and taps, left with nothing due to rude and unprofessional staff member in the kitchen display area

As a regular DIY customer and a mother, I was deeply disappointed and frankly shocked by my recent experience at Wickes. Upon visiting the store with my nearly 2-year-old daughter, I found myself without a suitable trolley to use—specifically, one with a child seat, which most other major retailers (like B&Q & Homebase) provide as standard.

I ended up using a Sainsbury’s trolley that I found in the car park, purely for safety reasons, as I couldn't locate a Wickes trolley suitable for children. At the checkout, I apologised for using it and was met with the response: "There's a reason for that. Our store isn't safe for children – you shouldn't bring them in here."

That response was incredibly disheartening. As a parent who doesn’t have the option of leaving my child at home, I have to bring her wherever I go—including hardware stores. Suggesting children aren’t welcome feels not only dismissive but outright discriminatory to parents and carers.

How exactly am I expected to carry a toddler and 10 lengths of 2.4m timber safely? Wouldn’t it be more dangerous to not have a secure child seat trolley available, leaving children to wander or forcing parents to juggle heavy goods while holding them?

Your current setup makes parents feel unwelcome, unsupported, and unsafe. A simple solution—providing even a few trolleys with child seats—would show that Wickes values all of its customers, not just those without children.

Until this is addressed, I will be forced to take my business elsewhere, where safety and accessibility for families are taken seriously
