Broken product, would not replace.
I've been a long time customer of Wind and Weather. Unfortunately, over time, the quality of their products have become much poorer.
I bought SKU # ETM3921, the "Easy-To-Read Weather-Resistant Outdoor Digital Window Thermometer. We cleaned the window as instructed, but the suction cups that hold the thermometer to the window failed, twice. The second failure resulted in it cracking.
I called customer service and was on hold ~45 minutes. When their agent finally answered and I explained what happened, she said, "What do you want me to do about it." Not even a I'm sorry, just we don't know what you did with it, so we won't do anything about it. She was also quite rude about the whole situation.
I'm done shopping at Wind and Weather!
Dishonest

They said there was nothing they could do. With the processing fee and delivery charges, my $39 item was going to cost $65!
Very clever with their "offer codes"
Very clever with their "offer codes". The so-called use of them in utilizing an online coupon that claims to be current? NOT SO. I tried to purchase twice in two days - same experience each time, though first total was $104 and second was $113. Very very specious manner of ordering what SHOULD be discounted and as it turns out? IS NOT. Lesson learned!
Great company down the toilet
If I could give them zero stars I would! I donât know what happened to this company but they used to be a great company ! They would answer calls quickly and had great customer service but no longer! Now calls are outsourced overseas, wait times are 25min+ & after two emails with no response & two calls today for a $200 item thatâs defective (which I only want replaced not refunded), they wonât help with a replacement because itâs past the 30 days even though it was ordered during Xmas ! This has never been an issue before & I used to love this company and their whimsical outdoor decor but I will not order from them ever again after this! Yâall have lost a long time dedicated customer :(
Bad customer service
My mom called to order items for Christmas. They assured her if she paid $70 in expedited shipping, she would have it before Christmas. Package was delivered 1/2/26. We have emailed, called and now sitting on hold for 45 min to get someone to send return authorization NOW rather than waiting another 24-48 hrs for a return code.
Poor quality good and poor customer service
I received an waxed amaryllis bulb. The wax was broken. I called the company and spent 45 minutes getting a replacement ordered. The person said she would expedite the package so it would arrive before Christmas (3 to 5 days). When it arrived on Dec 31st, it was again broken (the box was in tact and undamaged - so they just sent a broken wax bulb). Do not use this company. Poor quality goods and poor customer service. If you say you are replacing something, dont send it late, and goodness sakes, dont send another subpar good. The rule is under promise and over deliver, not the other way around.
Avoid Doing Business With Wind & Weather!
My experience is that Wind & Weather is not forthcoming. They provide a discount code but do not apply it. When I ask, I am told the discount is the catalog price. They also charge insurance; it is mandatory. So we have to pay to make sure they send the order. They are the only company I am aware of that has a mandatory insurance charge. Just another sneaky way to charge more.
Very sad bulb basket
My husband bought me the White Amaryllis Garden for Christmas, it arrived on Dec. 4, we opened it right away and watered it and set it on table near sunny window.
It is now Dec. 30th and what a SAD basket it is. Only 1 of 10 Star of Bethlehem bloomed, 5 of 8 tulips are struggling to bloom at all different times. The Amaryllis is poking along and I give this experience a 2 solely on my high hopes for the Amaryllis. What a sad, mess of a basket. I will NEVER request another one again.
Also, I am an EXPERIENCED gardener so not a novice in this regard.
Terrible business practice and merchandice
Billing incorrect amounts and billing twice which results in pending charges on bank accounts and credit cards. very disapointed in merchandice. Hanging LED paper star. 60 SOME DOLLARS LATER A PIECE OF CRAP. Now I have to figure out how to return it!
I have order on two separate occasionsâŠ
I have order on two separate occasions from this company. Both items were late getting to me. The first was a hummingbird feeder bought as a Christmas present. Never heard from the company and it arrived in February. Not too big of deal since it couldn't be used right away, but I think they should have contacted me since I ordered it for in November. Second item was a witch we order the n July for Holloween. Again nothing from the company and it arrived two days after Holloween. Horrible customer service, catalog goes directly into recycling bin without even opening it now.
Outrageous shipping charges and fraudulent taxation charges
Wind and Weather is under new ownership and with that they have changed their shipping costs. Now most items have either $20 to $25 shipping changes. In addition that slap on a mandatory $5 insurance to whatever is ordered.
What is worse is that the taxes charge on the sale are incorrect and overstated. Taxes should be charged on destination location. For me that is 5.9% on items and shipping changes. However, each item I have looked at appears to be be charged at a high rate around 9-10%. Potentially every purchase is skimming another couple dollars off the top.
This is not even an incorrect source tax rate as Madison, VA (where Wind and Wether is based) has a tax rate of 5.3%.
I ordered in March
I ordered in March. It was supposed to arrive in mid May. It is now the end of June. Customer Service is a recorded message telling you to give it more time and immediately hang up. I have tried to communicate with them using all of the possible ways that they have and have heard nothing! Too bad. They have some things that I would love to have but I have had it with this company!!!
Two wreaths came 3 days before Xmas and they wouldn't take them back
I ordered a wreath three months before Christmas. It did not arrive til 3 days before. In the meantime, I ordered a second one because I really wanted it and wrote to say that the second order should be cancelled if the first was coming. The second one also did not arrive til 3 days before. Neither were like the photo (brown instead of red) and both smelled to high heaven. Very inappropriate for Christmas. Tried to return right after Christmas. They refused to take it back, even after I called to explain. I am out $300 and will never order from them again even though they have been one of my faves for years.

Ordered 3 items as gifts all were âin stock onlineâ. One item was delivered on time, the other arrived 3 weeks late and broken, and 3 months later the third item was never shipped and never cancelled. Just claimed to be âdeliveredâ. Never received an email about the item being cancelled or out of stock. Have called customer service 4 times looking for clear answers and just would like a refund at this point.
Apparently they canât do a refund for the damaged item since it was delivered weeks after being ordered.
DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THEM GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE
Ordered a Christmas gift
Ordered a Christmas gift, got updated it was âjust a few more daysâ as they were waiting for stock. On the website it claimed in stock 6 day delivery. Never arrived for Christmas, wrote an email asking about it and received an email days later saying that it probably wouldnât be delivered in time for Christmas. Waited a week and wrote another email and noted that their site needed updated as it still claimed in stock. Didnât hear back for days. Finally, a little over a month later the product arrived. Their solution to a previous email was $50 off next purchase. Notice how they donât have reviews on their site, thereâs a reason.

I have never interacted with any other company who made it IMPOSSIBLE to make a return. I followed their instructions to the letter (never heard back on email) and after waiting on the phone for 30 min was told that as the receiver I was not able to make a return (even to the purchaser's credit card) - the return had to originate with the purchaser. When I pushed back on this the customer service rep hung up on me.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. I ordered 2 jeweled deer. Took a month to receive and there was only one in the box. Sent numerous emails and never received and answer. I called customer service more times then I can count and no one ever answered for days!!! My next step is to call better businesses and report them. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY SUCK!!!!!
We purchased a Weems Plath JeffersonianâŠ
We purchased a Weems Plath Jeffersonian rain gauge as a gift for an elderly family member. A key connection piece included in the package was threaded improperly (Metric into SAE) making it impossible to assemble. I contacted Weems Plath and requested a replacement piece but got a run-around. Filled out webform at wind and Weather support and received no response.
Customer service is TERRIBLE
Customer service is TERRIBLE. Received an incorrect item in an order and got through to the company after being on hold 15 minutes. Was told a return label would be sent to me via e-mail in the next 2 days. 4 days later I had not received the label so I attempted to call again. After being on hold twice for 20 minutes & then next for 15 minutes, I finally got through. The person I spoke with (Chris) told me that the wait time was only 10 minutes & then went on to tell me they were working on my label & I should receive it in the next few days. In the meantime, they have the money for the item I did order ( which costs twice as much as the item they sent). No apologies given - service rep was RUDE!
