Great customer service
I agree with another review that the instructions can be a little challenging. However, if you take your time and double check everything then they will work. The completed item is really good for the money.
What was outstanding for me was their customer service. I bought my shed over a year ago and just got round to putting it up. When I was nearly finished I ran out of some small black washers. I phoned the UK office who located me on their system and sent out some more the same day and they arrived within 24 hours. Fantastic.
Avoid purchase of this Tin Shed
Construction of this tin shed began on May 27th and is still ongoing due to the extreme poor quality of this purchase.
Despite hiring a highly experienced construction tradesman to assemble the shed even he's at his wits end with it.
He had great difficulty assembling it due to poor quality material, poor instructions and despite using a waterproof sealant the water is still pouring in.
The cost of hiring this trades person has already cost more than the shed as he ontinues to work on it.
Phoned the company 2 weeks ago and was told to use a waterproof sealant and that would sort it out.
I am totally disgusted with this purchase and quite frankly it should be taken of the market and I would strongly advice against purchasing this product. I am now questioning who is responsible for checking quality control of this metal shed as it most certainly does not meet the requirements needed to make this a suitable safe and secure shed.
Between the cost of the shed and still paying out to the construction worker I would have been cheaper building a block shed.
An absolute disgrace and a total waste of money!!
More of a parasol than an umbrella
Yardmaster 10x8 ft
If you think IKEA was a 70âs Swedish pop group, you will struggle with assembly. About the only thing going for these sheds is that they are cheap and look OK. The pictographic instructions are accurate but difficult to decipher- a few words of English would make a big difference. The panels are thin - 0.4 to 0.6mm thick depending on location. Although there are plenty of screws and washers, there is an exact number of bolts and nuts - so be careful not to lose any. It is much more difficult to assemble than you can imagine. From inventory check to tightening the final screw was 15 hours. I assembled all of it single-handedly and had a mate help lift the roof on. I wouldnât say it is poor quality- it is built to a price - a wooden shed is much more expensive. I bought it as a temporary storage solution- so I will be taking it apart later. The security is non-existent- the door handles are plastic and you can remove an entire wall panel with a screwdriver in 3 minutes. When it rains, the roof leaks - from the panel overlaps - which is a design fault- there is only a one ridge overlap - should be at least two. Maybe if I re-use it I will seal the overlaps with foam tape or silicone. Would I buy one again? No⊠Fool me twice, shame on me.
Wished never ordered this Shed
The only good thing about this shed is that it looks nice..Ordered an 8ftx7ft shed for bit more space.. Didn't know that was the overhang roof size and not inside storage size so beware what size you want..
The instructions as i agree with other people are really confusing. Came flat packed and there are so many pieces that i am sure this could be reduced to make it simpler to assemble. Took us a day to assemble the roof which I was dreading putting it on panels next day. So after again taking a long time to assemble panels onto the base which had to be adjusted to fit..Lifting the roof on was easier than I expected but with some brute force and a crowbar to sort a corner out we eventually got it all screwed together. Very flimsy and I suppose time will tell how long it will last.. Not had rain yet to check for leaks????
Hindsight is a wonderful thing and if I had read the bad reviews about this company then I wouldn't have ordered it..
No stars would be better
If I could give no star I would rude customer service... no organisation late with delivery had to call various of times and then sent the wrong item to boot I have now managed to return the item but will never purchase ever from them again
Fantastic Service Great Shed
Fantastic Service! I've had my shed about 15 years. We dismantled it when we moved house, and found that we'd lost a few parts when we came to reassemble. Phoned their help desk, who sent me replacement parts FREE.
These reviews on here about holes not lining up are rubbish, they've clearly not followed the instructions. You mustn't fully tighten the screws until all panels are in place, so you can manipulate them, then go round and tighten them all at the end.
Great Shed, would definitely buy another if I needed more space, and recommend to everyone.
AVOID - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & PRODUCT
Yardmaster 10ftx13ft shed
Not worth 1 star
Terrible customer service
Poor quality product, takes hours to assemble and then it cannot stand up to any adverse weather conditions
Do NOT waste your money, because if anything goes wrong, you won't get it back.
Happy with end product for the price
Now that my 10x6 shiplap shed is up Iâm quite happy with it, it looks good and feels quite solid once built. Would I trust really valuable tools, bikes etc? No. But itâs a fairly cheap option for a shed. As many others have said, the build is extremely frustrating. Beforehand I watched numerous YouTube videos and familiarised myself with the instructions but it took me a good deal longer than planned. Much of the time spent is trying to decipher the instructions which are awful (and contradict Yardmasterâs videos). Some tips when building:
* get 2 people if possible, this is a must when lifting the roof on but would really help as the material is so thin
* if you have room lay all related parts out and organised according to section
* complete the entire roof build then lift on, donât build the roof frame then try and fit panels etc from a ladder (as per written instructions)
* donât tighten any screw until the whole section is complete, even then be prepared to have to loosen screws. The holes will line up but can take some effort
* I intend to replace wall panel screws with nuts/bolts as some screws donât bite properly and pop out easily (not very secure)
* frustratingly some parts have more holes than are needed so donât spend ages trying to figure out the instructions, just try and line up 2 parts by eye
* gloves are recommended but the screws and washers are tiny so prepare for multiple cut fingers
* roof screws will probably need replaced with something more substantial as donât always bite too well either, also silicone to prevent water ingress
Basic, hard to put together, but can last and pretty cheap
These are pretty cheap sheds but in my experience they last OK and are fine for keeping lowish value stuff dry. They are very tricky to put together - the company should be ashamed of its instructions - and you will need to put in a lot of work on the base (a significant extra cost unless you already have an area of hardstanding available) and on assembly. Our last one lasted about 25 years and it was the wooden base that went first - partly due to inadequate footings.
I would give a minus if I could
I would give a minus if I could. Really flimsy construction, impossible to put together. Don't waste your money, just wish I'd read the reviews before buying one.
Wrong shed delivered- no help
Wrong shed delivered. Box and instructions didn't state size of shed so unfortunately assembled prior to realising the wrong shed was delivered. Very poor response from customer service. Still waiting for a resolution.
very poor instructions very hard toâŠ
very poor instructions very hard to build now the rain is very welcome in the shed
DO NOT BUY THIS SHED
DO NOT BUY THIS SHED. The quality is appalling and it is flimsy beyond belief. Nothing lines up and the instructions are beyond useless and incomprehensible. Takes hours of fiddly work and dealing with too short self tappers that strip if you blow on them is frustrating. If you are a saint then do buy one but be warned and listen to ordinary mortals who should know better.
Buy a wooden one last longer .
Tried to contact company about condensation on internal roof .shed always wet .waste of money no anser to my question.thinking of scrapping it and replacing with wood one.
Horrible shed
I bought a large 12x10â as I needed a lot of storage space. I read all the info on it and it ticked all the boxes-was reinforced, robust, blah blah. Worst decision of my life. It took forever to set up and I had to pay 2 men for 2 days which went way over budget. The instructions were horrible-just incomprehensible pictures and unfortunately I didnât realise there was a step by step video available which would probably have been very helpful. It is reinforced by gables but the walls are the flimsiest and cheapest metal available. For a small shed it may be more robust but as a large shed the protection is useless. A single kick will dent it and itâs so flimsy itâll be easy enough for anyone at all to break into. Itâs held together by hundred of tiny fiddly little screws which, unless itâs youâre own project, workmen probably wonât bother with. Iâm trying to let ppl know that there are tons there(literally) to screw. I needed it to house a lot of important belongings and now I live in fear as itâs simply not safe. Unfortunately I purchased it as a seconds (only had a few scratches on it) from eBay so Yardmaster wouldnât take it back. Customer services was helpful to a point and sent me a video but it was too late. Also for a shed that large I expected the doors tb on the wide side but only much later I realised they were on the narrow. The pictures on eBay didnât tell you so I had to make a logical assumption. This means I had to change the whole layout in my garden. DONT buy this shed in large, you will surely regret it. Itâs very unsafe and I worry a lot about when the autumn/winter winds come. My life was already full of anxieties and this has added to me sleepless nights-Iâm not kidding.
From one very disillusioned and distressed buyer.
Yardmaster 8â x 10â metal shed
Constructed the metal shed by myself and just needed help placing the roof on top. I consider myself to be a competent DIYer and after reading the reviews left by others I can only advise those with little diy experience that you either donât buy the shed or pay for a professional to erect it once purchased as this isnât a basic diy project. The screws that were supplied for the roof are in my opinion cheap, useless and not long enough, therefore I purchased self tapping metal sheet roofing bolts from Toolstation for £9.99 and they have worked perfectly, they have a metal washer which wraps around a rubber seal to provide a water tight fit. The nylon washer supplier by yard master isnât water tight at all which is why so many people have complained. For the price of the shed I think Yardmaster should provide more premium fittings. My shed has been placed on a concrete pad and as others have suggested it isnât water tight, I tried standard exterior sealant at first but it had very little effect and have now used a marine grade outdoor sealant that has provided a perfect seal all the way around the base. One tip that I found useful was referring to the assembly video on YouTube, they made it look like a piece of cake to assemble which it isnât but the video at least helps where the instructions arenât clear
Galvanized shed 6'x10' (106 WGL)âŠ
Bought a 6'x10' galvanized (106 WGL) shed from Yardmaster.
Due to reading reviews, employed two experienced shed builders to erect it.
All parts arrived, except instructions and sundries (nuts, screws washers and bolts) were for a larger shed (108 WGSL) causing some concern, but not much, as an excess of these items. Most of the problems with the shed described on Trustpilot (misaligned holes etc) seem to be because the instructions (I printed out the correct ones from the website) are incomplete and not very useful (in fact awful, really worse than DIY Chinese furniture assembly instructions). EG to adjust the level of the sliding doors is a diagram without explanation of three arrows and three lines pointing towards 4 holes.
If, however, you watch the video of the construction most of the difficulties can be overcome.
The final erected shed is however stable, if a little flimsy. And it is very inexpensive!
Three extra tips 1. Attaching shelves inside metal shed is very difficult. 2.You will probably need to seal the base of the shed to the concrete base with guttering sealant (or similar) to stop the ingress of water during heavy rain. 3. A lady called Emma at Yardmaster, when phoned, will help promptly with difficulties in a really pleasant way. She was the reason this review was 4* and not 3*.
Deserves zero stars
If i could give zero star rating i would. Absolutely awful shed, quality is shocking very cheap feeling material, the screw holes don't line up. When contacting yardmaster to report this problem they really didn't want to know and refused to pick up and give a refund even thou it was faulty. I would stay away from these products and company at all costs.
Absolute pile of junk
Absolute pile of junk, bought two and am sending one back, customer service is awful, canât get to speak to managers.
Buy theirs junk at your peril, it takes 3 days to assemble and pisses water in at every joint, nothing fits correctly and the security of the doors is a joke, crappy thin metal that will rip your hands to shreds combined with no proper hole alignment. Instructions completely useless and if you farted next to it it would fall down. Hopefully I have demonstrated why not to buy anything of these useless people as try sending it back which is even more time consuming and useless that building the crap in the first place. A very well done though to yardmaster who have managed to fabricate the most useless pile of crap I have come across in 64 yrs
Poor quality product and service. Don't bother.
The quality of the materials is flimsy, came with dents in places, many of the pre-drilled holes don't line up properly and even brute force won't work. So you're essentially forced into building a flawed shed or making work-arounds. To cap it off the written instructions are poor leading to more than a few points of frustration. The customer services team has been abysmal - still ongoing with no acknowledgment nearly a month on.
