My family and I are moving to the Netherlands. We were referred to Rupert Agnes at Xpatations real estate to help us find a home. We had very specific requirements. We are expats, we have pets, and I am over 70, so we were looking for a rental near a larger city with a bedroom and bathroom on the main floor. The housing market there is very tight currently but Rupert worked very hard to find us a good match with a wonderful apartment in The Hague. Rupert traveled to several potential locations to view for us, taking videos of each and sending them along so that we could assess each one ourselves. Renting a property from 6300 km away, and with a 6-hour difference is not an easy task. Rupert was a referral for us and we are so glad to have been able to use his services. We engaged Rupert 3 months before we needed his services to ensure we would be able to secure his time. Xpatations was incredibly helpful for us to find a beautiful townhouse in the historic center of Haarlem. There is NO WAY we would have even been considered for this rental as the Netherlands is one of the most brutal real estate markets in the world. Rupert helped us with negotiations, signing the contract, he took videos of the townhouse, and then he arranged fur us to get utilities.

We could not have done any of this with out him. I highly recommend you hire him. We would have been lost without him. He is also really fun to hang out with, we can't wait to take him and his wife to dinner when we move there in early April.

Rupert is a motivated, responsive, knowledgeable agent. We used his services to find a rental property when we first moved to the Netherlands, and he made the search efficient and easy as possible. Within three weeks of looking, we had signed an apartment that met our requirements, in spite of the currently tight rental market. Well worth the cost for expats/immigrants.

* Motivated – Rupert only works with 2 or 3 accounts at a time, so that means we were a priority as his client. He wanted us to find a place as soon as possible, while still respecting our requirements and not being too pushy.

* Responsive – available seemingly 24/7 on text, and provided thorough answers to our questions. When we wanted to do a viewing, he’d instantly get in touch with the selling agent.

* Knowledgeable – Rupert knew which selling agents to avoid. He noticed the quality and price/value of the apartment right away, and could tell us when it was worth it to pay up for, or conversely to avoid a property.
