We attended the wedding of Charlie and Harriet Sidgewick on Saturday 15th March 2025 the wedding was amazing and we had a fabulous weekend.
HOWEVER not can be said the same about the accommodation.
We stayed in the boathouse on arrival we were extremely disappointed in the walk down to the boathouse it was very dangerous as it was pebbles which were very slippy and no hand rails to help so very unsafe.
I spoke to Oliver who offered one of the groundsmen to get a buggy to take us and the luggage down to the boathouse we waited a while and ended up doing it ourselves we also asked about alternative accommodation to which we were told there was but would be cold as not been opened up.
When we got to the boathouse we were devastated as it certainly was not as it was sold in the brochure.
The hot tub was tiny and difficult to get into also it was a log burner so was not on constantly hot and was cold when we could have used it later.
On the whole the boat house was small and not suitable for getting ready for a wedding small bathroom and bedroom.
Decking to boat had no handrails and a step which is dangerous with no grab rail also poor lighting on the decking entrance the decking was very slippy and was not salted as it was frosty.
Smoke detectors had been taken off the ceiling and put in the cupboard which is totally unsafe .
We feel the boathouse was not a safe place to stay we have sent several emails and made several phone calls to speak to the owner to which non have been replied to we are extremely disappointed in their customer service obviously don't care once you have paid your money and definitely not value for money we would not stay here again

Stayed here for the weekend to attend a wedding. Accommodation was the Old Dairy. The cottage was reasonably comfortable but wet room idea for bathrooms not a great idea! Drainage was inadequate , causing the floor to flood and be extremely slippery. Made the mistake of thinking that the hot tub would be jacuzzi style rather than just a tub of water! I won’t say hot because it was extremely difficult to heat so we were unable to use it. All in all I’ve stayed at better for cheaper and do not recommend.

As wedding photographers, we had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful wedding at The Yorkshire Wedding Barn, and we must say, it was a fantastic experience. This venue is situated in the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales, making it a perfect backdrop for any wedding. The newly converted barns, the Wedding Barn and the Lake Barn, offer a modern and elegant space that is both stylish and timeless, perfect for a wedding celebration.

One of the things that stood out to us about this venue was its attention to detail. The combination of traditional design and modern technology made the barns feel cozy and comfortable, even on the cooler days. The underfloor central heating kept the guests warm, and the bi-folding doors out onto large patios allowed the guests to enjoy the stunning views of the lakes and the Yorkshire countryside while sipping on a glass of champagne.

The accommodation provided at The Yorkshire Wedding Barn was also exceptional. The newly converted barns offer the perfect place for the bride and groom and their guests to stay the night, ensuring that no one needs to head home at the end of the celebration.

In conclusion, we would highly recommend The Yorkshire Wedding Barn to any couple looking for a stunning and elegant venue for their wedding. The friendly and professional staff and the gorgeous surroundings make it a dream come true for any bride and groom.
