After working with Zapier for aâŠ
After working with Zapier for a business project, I could never recommend this platform for any mission critical or Enterprise level solution. The amount of UX friction is beyond frustrating. I highly recommend exploring other options of which there are several. Don't rely on the fact that Zapier has the market share and many integrationsâthat does not matter if one has to go through loops and hours of t/s to identify the cause of errors (mostly mapping due to a poor UI) and limited widget functionality or inconsistent layouts and labeling.

Good for some users. As for the free plan, it's absolutely useless. You're forced into a pro trial and can't downgrade for 14 days. This is to manipulate you into paying by locking out all pro features once the trial runs out.
I'm more impressed by how useless the custom JS/python is. A 10-line code block will take sometimes 500ms to execute, and sometimes 1100ms, even 2000ms+. The free limit is 1000ms, otherwise it fails.

I've had a very disappointing experience with Zapier. The platform automatically renewed my subscription without any prior notice or clear consent, which I find unacceptable. There was no obvious way to disable auto-renewal beforehand, and customer support was unhelpful when I requested a refund. For a service that claims to streamline workflows and save time, itâs ironic how difficult it is to manage your own billing preferences. I expected much more transparency and flexibility. Not recommended.

Horrible CS and app, it is a bait and switch model, just don't and no refund when you discover you have been had.
User-friendly but expensive, with huge limitations
Zapier is definitely easier to use than many of its competitors and the support is very good. But there are many cons :
1. The AI assistant is useless â it often provides incorrect information and ends up wasting a lot of time.
2. There are major (and surprising) limitations in the automation workflows (Zaps), including:
a) No way to merge conditional branches.
b) No simple way to conditionally skip a step.
c) No built-in error handling for individual steps.
3. You get charged for errored runs. Since thereâs no easy way to stop a Zap when an error occurs, all successful steps before (and sometimes after) the error are counted and billed â which makes the platform unnecessarily expensive.
4. Poor integration between Zaps and Tables
5. AI steps are heavily limited â strict traffic (25000 Bytes for Anthropic) and timeout limits (30 seconds) often cause Zaps to fail.
I don't recommend Zapier for :
a) Complex workflows
b) Large-scale data processing
c) Advanced AI use cases
d) Budget projects

Paid over £100;for the year as docs online said the paid could check every 5 mins, it's can't. Used for less than an hour before requesting a refund told no it's in their terms so chargeback it is. There's better options and better companies out there please avoid.

Support sucks after they abandoned support via chat
Generally i like the app, however their customer service has deteriorated sharply over the last several months. they seem to have abandoned their chat support, and now have to rely on their useless email support which literally takes a day between each interaction. The reality is that no issue can be solved by their customer support in less than several days to a week. This is not acceptable when you are relying on their service in day to day operations, especially when i frequently come across bugs in the system.
Zapier is overpriced, the interface bloated and clunky and the service is poor
As the title states, I was eager to test out Zapier and compare it against other market leaders like Make.com and even N8N. But I discovered that is quite poor, not intuitive, the inteface is a jumbled mess and it tries to do too much for you.
Heck, there are even Wordpress plugins like Uncanny Automator that do a better job, easier and for less money than Zapier.
Zapier is the Shopify of Automation platforms. You pay an arm for everything, its all on guard rails and one of the worst parts is the service staff. They are not experts in their products. I had to deal with them two times and both times they gave me the wrong advice.
I would warn against using Zapier. Absolutely no reason.

DON'T: expect your zaps to run. ever.
DON'T: trust your data. ever.
DO: spend more time per year fixing and setting zapier up than you do any other app or software
DO: lose customer confidence
DO: look unprofessional when you lose orders or invoices because of failed zaps
DO: grow resentful with zapier's absolute lack of customer service expertise
DO: wonder why you brought this pos software into your business model.

I used their free trail to automate customer outreach, the ZAP worked fine. When I started to add filters & paths, it did not work as intended. I spent about 2 weeks troubleshooting & re-making the ZAPs & the outreach would not work. I paid in full for the year after the trial & ALL sales are final. So now I paid in full for a service that is mediocre at best, assuming you can get it work. There have been so many changes in their product that much of the help online is outdated. Good luck!!

Better off using Make
Zapier is great for automations but they overcharge. You can do the same thing for much less using Make.
Zapier overbilled me for a month and customer service was greedy and wouldnât refund the extra credits despite being a 1 year subscriber.
Swapping off the platform on next billing cycle and Iâd recommend you as well.
