Dreadful online car buying experience
I attempted to buy a car from Toyota online.
What a mistake to make!
The service is not fit for purpose
The staff, though friendly and polite are exceedingly lacking in knowledge.
The system is totally un customer friendly.
One has to leave the entire p/x value of any car that is being used as a trade-in ( ie the usual practice ) as the deposit on the new Toyota car. There is no option to leave part of the value of trade-in as a deposit and take part in the value as cash.
The staff cancelled one order and asked that I re-order..which is fine. Except that the value of my p/x had dropped £200 in a day. The online team knew no way of retrieving the previous, higher value ( from the day before )
This despite the p/x being "fixed" for 12 days...supposedly.
Some of the team state that the p/x value is guaranteed, as long as the mileage, condition etc are as stipulated by the customer.
Other members say " it is a guide only..and an indication of what may be achieved "...so not fixed at all.
All in all, as a previously loyal Toyota customer ( iI have purchased 4 brand new and one used Toyota before ) I shall never return and take my automotive custom elsewhere.
