I recently attempted to contact Whirlpool in relation to a faulty appliance supplied as part of my IKEA kitchen order. I was surprised and frustrated to discover that your customer service line is closed not only on weekends but also on Mondays, with a voicemail message citing the current Covid crisis as the reason for this.
While I appreciate that the pandemic has had an impact on many businesses, it is unacceptable that in 2025, customers are still being told that Covid is the reason for a lack of basic service availability. Covid is not a valid justification for closing your lines over three consecutive days each week, particularly when customers are dealing with faulty essential appliances.
As a parent with a toddler and a young baby, being unable to reach anyone for three days in a row creates significant stress and inconvenience. Customers rely on appliances such as dishwashers daily, and when they fail, prompt assistance is not only reasonable but essential.
A shambles.
