Strings broke in 5 days, poor customer service

Ordered the following rackets

Yonex Astrox 99 Play 4U5 Badminton Racket (White Tiger) £ 67.95

Yonex Astrox 88 Play 4U5 Badminton Racket (Black-Silver) £66.95


The former racket’s strings broke within 5 days of light use - I contacted customer service as “all their rackets have a 12 month warranty” but they clearly don’t stand by this as they want me to post it back at my own cost which Royal Mail have quoted £13.79 for, and Direct Badminton will only refund £3.99 postage costs.

Plus, once I send it back, they will take up to 21 days to assess whether their warranty covers this issue of broken strings.

Will definitely not be buying from this company again.

Hi,
Thank you for your feedback. Snapped strings do need to be assessed in person in order to determine whether or not there is a manufacturing fault.
We offer a £3.99 contribution towards return postage because this reflects a standard delivery charge. We offer the same amount for all instances to keep the process consistent and fair for all of our customers. While some return methods may cost more, customers are free to choose the courier or service that works best for them.
