I had lens replacement 20 March at Nottingham and my initial appt & post op checks at Leicester.
All staff at both sites were incredibly helpful and friendly and explained things clearly and answered all my questions.
I was particularly pleased with Neeta & Pretti for giving me time and space to make a decision about whether I proceed with surgery; Pretti called me to talk through some concerns but did not rush or pressure me. I decided a week or so later and got back in touch.
The surgery itself was quick and, although a bit uncomfortable, it was not painful. I was very anxious but the surgeon (Dr Matthews) and team were extremely kind and reassuring.
Here I am, less than 24 hours later and my distance vision is better than driving standard and my reading vision is improving by the hour. My eyes feel a bit dry and gritty & are very light sensitive (all as expected) but again, no pain,
Pre surgery my eyes were L-5.5&+1.75 and R-6.5&+1.75 with mild astigmatism. I had the Odyssey in my left eye and Puresee in my right. Both multifocal.
So far I feel delighted with my choice to go ahead with this and would recommend to anyone who is sick of wearing glasses or contacts. It’s not cheap (not much change from £9k for my particular needs) but I’m early 50s so am hoping I have plenty of years left and it will pay for itself and then some by me not needing expensive multifocal specs every 2 years!!
Also - be prepared for each step taking a good few hours (apart from the post op checkup I had today - that was <1hr).
