Don’t refund your money

Made a purchase in January and the parcel was lost by Evri. I requested a refund of the item and was told that this was processed on 20th January. As of today 12th March, no refund has been received. I’ve been told by Christian to speak to my bank which I did and they confirmed no refund. I sent a photo of this conversation. He has no replied saying that they’ve done their part and will now close my ticket so I’m left without a refund of £50. Absolutely disgusting customer service from Wilko. I will never shop with them again and raise a complaint with trading standards.

Update- what an incompetent customer service this company has. I am still fighting to get my refund after nearly 3 months. They keep telling me to go back to payment provider which I have sent them proof that I haven’t received refund. They have given me conflicting information time and time again. Absolute shambles. Will never use again and will make sure family and friends also don’t!

One star is far more than they deserve

One star is far more than they deserve. Water pouring down roads for months and told it’s not a priority. A hose pipe ban. A 50% increase in our bills. A CEO on £500000 who should hang his head in shame at the shambles that the company is. This company needs an intervention now. This can not be allowed to go on.

I love Next

I love Next! Their quality and product range for us Tallies is brilliant. The customer service is fantastic. I buy so much that the yearly payment plan for delivery is brilliant value. It’s a shame that they now charge for the returns whereas they used to be part of the package.

I am obsessed with this app

I am obsessed with this app! I have saved so much money by simply making my purchases through their links. £5 vouchers off of my monthly food shop are a life saver in this day and age when every penny counts. Any time I’ve had an issue the customer service has been amazing. Can’t recommend enough.

Tom is a credit to your company!

Travelled over to Aylesford store after doing some research online for a new bed. Had a good offer on so decided to head over for a look. We were greeted by Tom straight away who asked how we were and asked what we had in mind. We had a rough idea but wanted to test a few mattresses. He explained that he was with another customer but was available should we have any questions. He was very attentive and regularly came over to ask how we were getting on. There was no hard sales push at all. We said we only wanted 2 drawers as the other 2 were lost to bedside tables and he showed us another alternative that had smaller drawers which was perfect. We weren’t keen on the shades in store so he showed us a swatch booklet that we were able to choose from. He listened to us and offered cover should our cats damage the beds. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. I’ve purchased from Bensons in the past and the quality has always been fantastic.

Absolutely useless…

I honestly don’t know why anyone banks with this company. I resigned from a management company when I moved from my last address. We started the process to have myself removed from the bank account as I no longer lived there. This was 3 years ago. We are still fighting to get the details changed but constantly come up against forms that don’t download, when we call the colleague can’t find my details but I can still access the accounts. We lodged a formal complaint but the manager just sent us a form that wouldn’t download and again told us to call up as it didn’t work. We just go round and round in circles. It’s got so bad that the new person responsible for the management company has looked to open a different account with another bank. Absolute shambles.

My absolute go to for all my beauty needs. I recently subscribed to their beauty box which is brilliant and gives you the opportunity to try new products at a small cost each month.
My orders have always been delivered on time or earlier. The customer service is outstanding.

Fantastic bank

How have I only just found out about this bank? Opening an account was really easy and the interest rate on my savings is fantastic. I get 1% cashback on my food shopping which is really helpful at a time when every £1 counts.

Breaking the law on Distance Selling Laws

Ordered items but unfortunately they were not a good fit. Emailed Matalan within 14 days (distance selling regulations) and advised I was ending contract. Get notification of refund this morning minus the cost of postage to send me the items. Under DSR standard postage must be refunded if customer follows above. Contacted customer support and spoke to Sphindile who is point blank refusing to refund me saying it’s not Matalan policy. This is the law not a policy. I am trying to get my money back and it’s put me off ever dealing with Matalan online ever again.


In reply to their reply, I have sent several messages and have had no reply to them. Amazing how they can reply to this but not to my messages.

Quality shocking

The company has changed the design of their body soft underwear. This is now absolutely awful and not fit for purpose. All the reviews are negative with customers having the same issue. Every time I feedback they say they will pass onto buying but nothing changes. I’m now left with underwear that I now have to return to a store for a refund at my expense because of the poor quality.

Prevented a small business from trading

Have left a small business unable to trade due to blocking the bank account. They claim they have tried many times to contact us re anti money laundering identity confirmation. We only received the letter that said they had blocked us. Colleague on phone was not on correct account and read wrong contact info. Told us we could not trade until forms filled in. Businesses already struggling and now this. To top it all they want to charge a non profit £4.99 a month for an account. Absolutely shameful.

Fantastic

After being stung by another well known cottage company we looked around for someone else to book through.
The whole process was really easy and the cottage was exactly as described. The communication from the owner was spot on and even when we got lost she was very sweet and directed us. Incredibly thoughtful cottage owner. Would thoroughly recommend and use again.

Beware buying a voucher for a hotel…

Beware buying a voucher for a hotel stay. They won’t tell you that they only buy a certain amount of rooms on certain dates. I checked availability of a hotel and the dates I wanted were available. I then proceeded to exchange a voucher for this hotel break. Colleague didn’t tell me earliest availability was November! Call hotel and told can’t have date I want. Buyagift customers can only have certain dates and times. Go back to buyagift and ask for original voucher back as this one is now useless. Told I can’t have it as it’s gone up in price. If I was to buy on site today with their offer voucher it’s actually cheaper than what I paid but the agent would not let me have it. So now I have no hotel break and a voucher for £149.99 credit that I can’t use. Absolutely disgusting customer service. It’s actually cheaper to book with hotel direct!


In reply to the response that hasn’t even read my review. It had nothing to do with a surcharge but the fact that I couldn’t book the day I wanted. If there had been a surcharge I may have paid this to get the room but this was not an option just told no rooms pre booked by buyagift until November.

Very good customer services team

I have to say I am shocked at some of the reviews on here. From time to time I have had issues with a food item or a late/cancelled delivery but every time the customer services team have been exceptional and I can’t fault them. Muaaz couldn’t have been more helpful tonight in trying to locate my delivery.

Cares more about the owner than the customer…

Came back from a rather disappointing break at Nables Farm and was asked for feedback from Sykes on our stay.
I used the opportunity to feedback that we found the property dirty in places with broken extractors, utensils, fire alarms discarded on the side, doors held shut with magazines, skirting boards falling off and a bathroom door that often didn’t open. The toilet seat in the main bathroom was yellow underneath with urine stains. The small en-suite bathroom the toilet was stained and kept blocking. The shower heads were all clogged with limescale and we had to clean these to use properly as the water would not flow. There was a horrible smell constantly from the toilet by the front door. Please be aware that these comments also dated back in the guest book and were mentioned on reviews about the property.
These comments were passed to the owner who has a ghastly attitude and basically called me a liar and said I’d gone snooping behind a free standing bath looking for dirt. When I took a bath I could see the dirt on the floor! When my husband used a towel to wipe up water on the bathroom floor it came up filthy! We were left logs for the log burner but no kindling or lighter and had to buy these ourselves! There was a previous guests sock still in the tumble dryer. The tablecloth in the kitchen was dirty. The curtains in the kitchen had stains on them.
We were disturbed 3 times by couriers and workmen knocking at the door in the morning asking where another property was. My husband had a shock when one morning he was at the window in his pyjamas and a woman was taking photos of the property we were in. I raised this with the owner and got no apology just a curt “perhaps she took a picture of the whole yard for context”. In his response to my comments he claims that a smartly dressed estate agent is apparently acceptable and we were at fault for finding this intrusive? Wouldn’t you? The owner also tried to justify that as we’d “only” paid £675 for the property we should be happy with the standards. I would expect the same whether I’d paid £100 or £1000. This was our only holiday this year I hasten to add.
I’ve stayed in many properties in the past and have never found reason to complain. Even now it was simply feedback.
Sykes have taken the side of the owner and have nothing more to say on the matter. I’ve been left very hurt and appalled by the whole experience. I will never book through them again as I feel they are responsible for making sure their properties live up to the expectations of the guests and the photos. The photos are not representative of the property any longer.
Things always go wrong but there was more wrong here than I was prepared to ignore.
I would also like to add at no point has anyone apologised for any of this. Personally I would avoid Sykes and Nables Farm if I was you. Both have no idea on customer service and acceptable standards

Thieves that don’t refund your money…

EDIT - since my review I have had a refund!

Had some jeans arrive that the pockets weren’t finished properly inside and needed to return. Spoke to customer services who assured me that the £1.99 fee would not be applicable as they were faulty. It was deducted from my refund. I also wasn’t refunded the £3.99 postage. When an item is returned faulty it aid a legal requirement to return any fees to the customer. I have spent 3 days back and forward with them trying to get this sorted and have now resorted to opening a claim with PayPal. Will never use these thieves again.
