I wish I could give zero stars
I wish I could give zero stars, but as the minimum is 1 star, let’s assume this is because the staff I spoke to and chatted to were unfailingly polite and trying to be helpful.
My purchase of a washing machine from Appliances Direct was easy to do online and I was offered a choice of delivery dates to suit. I also paid for the installation of the new machine and the removal of the old one.
But the actual delivery process was absolutely appalling. It started reasonably well on the original delivery date with clear text messages from the ArrowXL drivers, but unfortunately the lorry broke down and my new machine was returned to the depot. Thereafter I entered a never-ending circle of hell.
Four subsequent deliveries were requested from ArrowXL, agreed to, but never materialised on the day. I had to chase people from pillar to post to get any information, and was repeatedly assured by both Appliances Direct and ArrowXL that my order was being dealt with and all was going to be fine. The Arrow customer service helpline did not seem capable of speaking directly to their transport people, and the question of removal of the old machine became a matter which bounced me between the retailer and Arrow.
During two and a half weeks I had to plan for these non-existent deliveries, messing about my family, friends and work colleagues, changing health appointments and relying on my neighbours’ kindness to get washing done.
The machine was finally delivered after the fifth scheduled delivery failed and I had a meltdown on the phone, (it takes a lot to make me cry in public but I just got to the end of my tether.). This eventual delivery and removal were done by ArrowXL using two separate teams in lorries clearly set up at the last minute.
Unfortunately, when you buy from a retailer it is not always clear which delivery company they will be using. I would suggest that Appliances Direct check how ArrowXL treat their customers.
