I took part in a Speed Awareness course today (24th of March at 11:15 am). The course was hosted by Mick G. I've been on the course previously (some years ago) however Mick made the Course interesting and valuable. It was NOT boring as it was previously. Mick engaged with all the others on the Group and I'm sure they would agree with my comments

The course was well set up and the delivery was excelent. I thought that the course could be of an even greater benefit to more people if it could be rolled out to the public at town or village halls. The content was hard hitting but made perfect sense and completely thought provoking.

Useful Course well structured and presented well.

The trainers,Steve and Daniel, were both very professional and engaging in their teaching. I was impressed by the way they handled the training making it both educational and thought provoking. The information they delivered was thorough and helpful in that it can be taken away and used (not just stored mentally)to help understand how the slightest speed increase can cause devastating consequences in the event of a collision. I have taken the information and applied it to my driving and do look at my speedometer more. I think this course would benefit newly qualified drivers and could be provided to coincide with passing a test, especially the foresight of what could potentially happen in hazardous conditions in built up and busy areas.

Sarah & Neil immediately put everyone on course in nice relaxed frame of mind.
They never judged anyone, they were very professional polite & helpful & a credit to TTC.
they included everyone at all times & explained everything in simple easy terms but at same time actually teaching us where to improve our driving skills,

It was a good opportunity to refresh my knowledge of the Highway Code and have the chance of talking to other attendees about their experiences. The tutor were very personable, and their presentation and delivery first class. However, I trust I’ll never have to attend another course!

I have done a speed awareness session before and there was two people running it and it was quite degrading in the way it was run by the two. However Sarah was brilliant right from the start she made me feel at ease from the registration and when the session started she made all of us feel at ease and involved all of us, as with most of these things there are some that take over with answering everything and not let anyone else participate but Sarah included everyone, I did enjoy it and she said right from the start if we didn't want to say what we had done that was OK and she wouldn't pursue the matter I think most of us knew that we had made a mistake which it was, mine I got caught at a temporary one way system and the diversion was two mile back but there was shops in between it didn't help we was away so in a unfamiliar place and when I had realised my mistake which was seconds a bus had pulled up right behind me so I had no where to escape, if you hadn't realised they made it a bus lane the old money making schemes. Anyway the course was very good and most of us knew what we had done and what to look out for in the future.

I recently attended a Speed Awareness Course delivered by Toby, and I was pleasantly surprised by how engaging and informative the session turned out to be. This was my first speed awareness course and I hope it will be the last. I am pleased to say I did learn something from this course having passed my driving test some 40 years ago!
He explained the material clearly, making the information easy to understand and remember. What stood out most was his ability to keep everyone involved without ever making anyone feel singled out or uncomfortable. He struck the right balance between professionalism and approachability, which made the session feel more like a helpful conversation than a lecture.
Toby also handled questions with patience and clarity, making sure everyone left with a better understanding of how to stay safe on the road - not just to avoid penalties, but to protect ourselves and others.
Overall, the course was far more useful than I expected, and Toby’s delivery played a big part in that. I left feeling informed, reassured, and more mindful about my driving habits.

The course was informative & I did learn a few things the instructor was good making sure everyone was active/listening & taking notes

I attended a course at Bridgnorth on 9th March 2026. The instructors were both arrogant and condescending. The female instructor spoke to the candidates as though they were children not adults and the male instructor was very arrogant. The female instructor should be made aware that not everyone had to pass a hazard perception test to obtain their driving licence and the male instructor should be made aware of the speed limits for car derived vans of less than two tones ULW as he insisted that ALL vans had the same limits.
The Instructors seemed to work on the assumption that everyone had no idea of the speed limits and highway code rules, they would be more effective if they interacted in a more positive manner with the attendees and discovered more about their background and knowledge.

The host was great- he was professional, engaging and assisted me with my technology issues making sure I did not miss any of the vital information.
The class was a few people all who had been caught speeding for various reasons and we all finished having learnt a lot about why the speed limits exist. How dangerous it is to go over the national limits, the different roads and what they look like. Techniques to control the way you behave while driving and the impact poor driving has on people. Excellent course and tutor.

The trainer was approachable and very informative. He used his own experiences and those of others who had completed the course in order to illustrate points.

Carrie delivered the course well.
She made the course enjoyable while staying professional, allowing humanity into the course.

Our educators were called Gilly, and I think Claire? Both very lovely and made what I thought was going to be super boring, not so boring. I was warned how miserable these people were going to be and I found the the total opposite. I attended a venue and we were allowed to laugh, joke and talk as long as respect was shown. They remained professional whilst also allowing us to be able to have a laugh. It made it more enjoyable and felt like a quick 3 hours instead of dragged out. And I also came away with information I did not know! And I loved the little trick they done with speeding up one of the videos for hazards etc! Lovely people who have a hard job dealing with potentially miserable members of public desperate to not be there 🤣

I found the staff very helpful and informative in every aspect of the course which opened my eyes of how things have changed in recent years regarding driving safety and I certainly learned a lot from the driving course and experience, since now most households have people, which now have cars or other means of transport,
