Impossible returns process & terrible customer service. Avoid.

I bought 2 pairs of waterproof trousers in the Black Friday sale & have now been trying to return them for 10 days as both pairs are too short.

I followed the returns process as outlined on the Craghoppers website; buying a DPD postage label & then taking the parcel to a DPD drop-off point.

However, the DPD label just would not scan & so I couldn't hand the parcel over to complete my end of the returns process. I tried several different DPD drop-off points, but it was the same story everywhere.

I then tried getting in touch with Craghoppers. Ha! What an utterly laughable concept. No phone number. A live chat function that doesn't work, even during the stated opening hours. An email response target of 48 hours.

Someone from customer services eventually replied to my email, saying that the original DPD label I'd purchased would be cancelled so that I could buy another one & try again.

I thought this was a long shot & no real solution, but was willing to give it a go just in case. At this point I asked what the next step would be if this didn't work & the reply was 'I'll get back to you'. No one has...

I did try to buy another DPD label as instructed, but it seems the original one I bought 10 days ago still hasn't been cancelled & my return therefore shows as being 'in progress'. It turns out it's not possible to buy a new label if the returns system thinks you're already in the process of returning an item.

I'm therefore caught in a Kafka-esque scenario where I have zero ability to return these trousers for a refund.

I've emailed customer services again, but I hold no hope of being given a sensible solution.

Craghoppers, can you please help me return these items. Frankly, I want the money back ASAP. I have many better things to do with the cash in the run up to Christmas. A functional returns process isn't hard to achieve - and I should know, I've worked in the head offices of major retailers for the last 17 years.

On the back of my experience shopping with you, I will never buy from you again (I'm already regretting having bought a new pair of trousers in a longer length, which I did before this returns debacle & in order to make sure I got the black Friday discount). Buyer beware.

100% failure rate - use DPD instead

Utterly awful service. Booked for a parcel to be collected from my home, and 6 days later it's still not been collected & I have no way to get a refund. Was initially told collection would be on Tues 17th October, stayed home all day & no-one came to the house. Called customer service that evening (note, no clear way to get through to an actual person - I had to try every option on the automated menu in order to speak to someone) only to be told that someone had come to collect the parcel & we'd just missed them. Rearranged the collection for Thursday 19th October. Stayed home all day again. No one came to collect the parcel. Called customer service again - this time, no record of any activity. Rebooked the collection for Friday 20th October - apparently with the collection being marked 'high priority' for the depot. Stayed home all day again. Once more no one came to collect. Tried to cancel the order & request a refund online (you can't do this over the phone), only to find that you have to have a proper ParcelForce business account to issue refunds online. So, my parcel hasn't been collected & I can't get a refund. Daylight robbery, not a service.

Sofa brought back to life!

I bought the Leather Care kit to give my aniline sofa some TLC after it had been covered in fine dust from our home renovation (plastic sheeting had kept the worst filth at bay, but the sofa still looked tired & a bit sad). The ultra clean brought up & removed a surprising amount of dirt, and the protection cream has given the leather a light sheen, a really soft texture & left a lovely leather aroma. My sofa now looks as good as new & I couldn't be happier! Great products that are easy to apply, do the job you bought them for & all delivered really quickly. Highly recommend!

Amazing service

Amazing service! I bought a Hepburn sofa from Old Boot 3 years ago, and absolutely love it. After moving house this week, I discovered that the removal men had taken the feet off the sofa. Despite searching through our big pile of belongings, I couldn't find the feet anywhere. So, we were left with a sofa without feet & nothing comfy to sit on. I called Old Boot to see if I could buy a new set of feet, and to my surprise they are posting four new feet to me free of charge! If that's not amazing customer service, I don't know what is. They've absolutely made my day.
