My experience with AllClear was great

My experience with AllClear was great.
I spoke to Joe (from Cardiff), he was amazing, extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble and he talked me through the questions one by one. Couldn’t have been more helpful and easy to deal with.
My price was very competitive and I can now look forward to my family holiday.
I would definitely recommend AllClear and would use them again.

Fantastic product and customer service.

I purchased a SUPA heater to heat the water in my out of the ground pool.

Pool volume: 9000 litres
Starting temperature 23.31 degrees
Target temp 33 degrees

6.12kg propane used @ £2.88 per kg (19kg bottle) = £17.63

I started off with Intex rubber solar panel mats. I then progressed to Steinback solar panels which are great when we have the sun (but still need a few days of constant sun to heat the water to the right temperature). I then purchased a coal fired stainless steel coil heater, this was very efficient, but the neighbours complained about the smoke (even though it was smokeless coal that I used)! This year we put our pool up and I looked at the weather for the wind direction to be ok to light the coal heater, the forecast for the next couple of weeks wasn’t good wind direction wise!! I googled propane powered pool heaters and your SUPA heater was one of the first on the search 😁. The rest is now history.

The SUPA heater took me about 2 hours to assemble.
I’m very impressed with the build quality and attention to detail that has been put into the design of the product.

From my point of view the SUPA heater is a total game changer, although the initial purchase price is quite high, I believe it is well worth the money.

In my opinion the cost of the initial heat up was well worth it, the water temperature will hopefully stay at a comfortable level, if it needs heating, I will use the solar panels (if the sun is shining) to supplement it, or the SUPA heater.

Last year we hardly used our pool as the temperature of the water wasn’t high enough, this year we will be able to use our pool whenever we like, whatever the weather. A water heat-up time for the 9000 litres 23 to 33 degrees in a fraction over 3 hours is a total “game changer”.

Mark was fantastic at responding to my emails, even over the weekend. Great advice given. Very knowledgeable and helpful.

I couldn’t recommend the SUPA heater more highly, what an amazing product 😁.

No response from help desk!!!

I spent over £750 on my Perla Silk Wi-Fi water softener. I’ve had it for over a week and there has been an issue with the Wi-Fi not connecting to the app. Despite numerous calls to the technical department I have still not heard back from the BWT help desk!!! Not a happy customer!!!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE MEACO DDL8 ZAMBEZI. I have purchased a total of 3 of these units, my son has also purchased 1. ALL of these units have had either C1, or C2 error codes, this requires return to Meaco (Google has lots of links to customer's experiences of the error codes). In my experience most of my units have been deemed to be beyond economical to repair by Meaco, if they're out of warranty Meaco offer a 20% discount on a new replacement unit (the units are expensive and cost around £250 each!!!). Meaco try to blame the faults on operator error (my units have always been used as per the operating instructions), dirty filters (I clean mine with an air compressor every 2-3 weeks), or supply voltage issues (mine run on 240v domestic mains voltage, with RCD and MCB on the electrical circuit). Meaco are also supposed to be wildlife friendly i.e. the DDL8 Zambezi is named after an elephant at the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation Elephant Orphanage in Zambia. Following my experience with the "beyond economical repair" stance of the company, it's obviously easier for them to offer a 20% discount on a new unit than to repair the faulty unit. There must therefore be a large amount of waste plastic and other components that have to be disposed of, even if they're recycled it's hardly wildlife/environmentally friendly!!! DEFINITELY NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!

The error codes that we have been seeing on your machines are all to do with blocked airflow, this happens when the airflow is restricted by either being too close to walls/furniture or being blocked with dust. 

In the past we collected a dehumidifier from you that was two years outside of warranty which DPD unfortunately lost in transit.  As a result of this we gave you a free unit as a replacement.  This was over and above our obligations for a unit that was two years outside of any warranty. 

In this case we are looking at another out of warranty repair that we have collected and examined free of charge.  As we have explained in detail on this occasion several major parts are required to repair the dehumidifier and a repair would cost us more than a new machine.  On this occasion we have offered a 20% discount off a new unit. 

We are always happy to look at any customers machine to see if we can help, even outside of warranty, in the past we have given you a free new machine, on this occasion we cannot help, but our priorities are always to help customers where we can.

Yet another problem!!!

Yet another problem with my Freesat (Arris 4K) box!!!

When switching on my box from standby mode I get a message saying “signal lost no picture available” this then clears itself after about 30 seconds and the TV comes on (this happens every time).

I also have the same issue as before: When watching a recording or iPlayer, the box switches to live tv without any input from the remote control. This happens multiple times during the day. I have 2 young children, today they were watching a recorded children’s program before they went to bed, during the recording the box switched to live TV, BBC 6 o’clock News, the headline was about a boy being stabbed to death!!!

I seem to be experiencing a lot of issues with the Arris box, the previous Humax box was very reliable!

I contacted Freesat help last Friday, it’s now the following Wednesday evening and I’ve heard nothing!!

NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!!

Some of our customer do see a 'signal lost' message for a few seconds when bringing the box out of standby. This message is shown if the LNB on your satellite dish requires some configuration before it's ready to use. We are planning to update the on screen messaging to make this clearer in the future.

We are sorry to hear that you have experienced an issue whereby your viewing is interrupted and you are returned to live TV from on demand or recording playback. Hopefully you've already spoke to one of my colleagues about this. If not then please do email reviews.help@freesat.co.uk and we'll do our best to assist.

Our product development team continue to make improvements to the Freesat 4K boxes which are regularly released via software update.

“the delivery of your shipment has been delayed

When I’m expecting a DHL parcel delivery they are always very pleased to tell me by email that my parcel is going to arrive the next day, but many times it doesn’t arrive due to a “delay”. DHL don’t seem to be able to communicate to inform me of the delay! Today I was expecting a delivery, when it got to 4.30pm I decided to track the delivery only to be told “the delivery of your shipment has been delayed”. My experience is that I seem to get more “delayed” deliveries than on time deliveries! Not happy 🤬

Can’t set to record via the app!

Now reduced my original 4* rating as I can’t set recordings from the app and the app keeps crashing. From looking at other reviews this has been an issue for months, not happy!! My previous Humax box worked fine with the app.

Where is the “skip” button on the remote?

So far not too bad, but only had my new UHD 4K 2T record box 24hrs, so it’s a bit difficult to properly review it yet. Set up was easy. Had a query and Freesat customer service phone number answered quickly and gave me good advice. One thing that I have just noticed, where is the “skip” button on the remote control (my old Humax box had one), or do I now have to watch adverts and trailers?

Excellent advice

Excellent advice. Supplied me with a new valve that was "obsolete" according to the manufacturer, cost me £55 to repair. Saved me buying a very expensive new shower!! Happy customer. Will use again.
