Food safety concerns and dismissive service.



I ordered a cake on the 27th of February and paid £10 extra for weekend delivery for a birthday event. The cake arrived with mould on the baking paper that lined the cake. This raised food safety and hygiene concerns and I didn’t feel that the cake was safe to serve to guests so requested a refund. The company seemed ambivalent and responded with ‘apologies’ that felt stiff and insincere, repeatedly saying that they’d never received a complaint like this and stating that they’d refund me ‘just in case’ despite me providing photographic proof of the mould and the batch number. The phrasing felt like they were doing me a favour instead of doing due diligence for a visibly unsafe product. I requested a refund and two weeks later I’ve received nothing. I would not recommend this company. Customer service is unsatisfactory, the cake had to binned and my money has still not been refunded despite numerous emails and requests.

Edit: The company’s response below is incorrect but not surprising as it is consistent with the poor customer service I’ve received thus far. I ordered from the correct business and have email correspondence and receipts to show this. I spoke to Jane. The assumption based on my user name is unfounded. I did not state in my review that I ordered from Kenya. I am however surprised that the company appears unaware of its own product range as they do in fact sell and ship cakes. I maintain my review and still await my refund.

Edit 2: The company has now removed their earlier response, which had incorrectly stated that I had contacted the wrong business. They have since acknowledged the issue and confirmed that a refund has been processed, although I have not yet received it.

While I appreciate the acknowledgement, I am still awaiting the refund. I will update this review once it has been received.

Never again!

My experience with Wilko was nothing short of a nightmare. Despite purchasing two faulty suitcases, when I informed them of this, they repeatedly delayed and avoided issuing a refund. I had to involve PayPal to get any resolution, and it took over three months of daily emails and frustration.

Wilko's tactics to delay and avoid responsibility are unacceptable. They consistently used 24-48 hour holding emails to stall the process. Even after sending a letter before action and threatening to take them to small claims court, I was still ignored.

Wilko blatantly disregarded consumer rights law, showing a complete lack of respect for their customers. I strongly advise against shopping with Wilko. Their customer service is abysmal, and they only respond to pressure. Save yourself the headache and choose a more reputable retailer.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

Bfyne's reviews follow a pattern: positive when purchases go smoothly, but negative when issues arise. I bought a swimsuit from them in the sale. It didn’t fit, despite me checking their sizing chart prior to purchase. I later checked the size and realised the swimsuit they had sent was not the size I ordered. So the fault was theirs. Despite contacting them about the incorrect size, I received no response or refund. I messaged them to ask for an exchange or refund and have been ignored on all platforms. They are unscrupulous individuals who send inaccurate sizes to people intentionally, ( I’m not the first customer this has happened to) then make them jump through hoops to provide evidence and still do not provide refunds. Even here they’re telling people to write the customer service then I’m sure they’re ignoring them too. It was my first and last purchase with this company. All I want is my money back at this point and a response. Bfyne's lack of customer service and unethical practices are concerning. A suggestion for improvement: prioritise customer communication and satisfaction for future success.

Nightmare getting a refund - Waited 2 months!

I made an order with ASOS and returned the items a few days later. A week later I received a new package with the items I had returned. I contacted them on live chat to let them know (which was an ordeal in itself as its outsourced to Asia, so it gets cuts off frequently and you have to repeat yourself often and speak to many people for one issue) and they told me to return it. I couldn't because I was self isolating and couldn't do collection either because I didn't have a printer. I was told to contact a family member in lockdown to find a printer and she implied the redelivery was my fault, despite me providing evidence to the contrary. I returned the package following my period of self isolation and two months later I haven't received the refund I was due. They did not apologise at any stage or admit fault and despite being an ASOS customer for ten years, I have decided not to use them again and report them to an ombudsman to get my refund as my loyalty doesn't appear to account for much.

Quality of clothing was extremely poor.

The purchasing experience was ok. I didn't like the way the models all resembled Kardashians. Definitely a lack of diversity there. Once clicked the site would sometimes revert to the top or the filters would deselect which was a bit annoying.

The clothes, once received, were packaged in one giant bag and I thought the quality of the clothing was extremely poor. Looked like something you'd get from aliexpress. I won't be purchasing from them again.

Great service

Great service. I got malaria tablets at a fraction of the cost I would at a chemist. They called to double check I had the right amount of tablets. I paid extra for express delivery and got it the next day! Highly professional service. Would use again.
